  Comment: Hello,
I wanted to tell you that I always buy their rolls, all the varieties. I recently bought some cracked wheat rolls, 3 bags. I went to use them the next day and as I put them on the sheet for baking, noticed that two of the three bags of rolls had mold on most of the rolls!! It was disgusting and shocking, not to mention I was at a loss for my explanation as to why I didnt have more than a dozen rolls for my guests. I was apprehensive to even use what was seemingly okay...

Since rolls are the last thing prepared, I had no time to get more. I didnt want my guests to lose their appetite as I had so didnt say anything except that I had burnt them.

Now iam afraid to buy these rolls again for the fear of mold again. I also lost my money. Their rolls are more expensive than others, they are better so I like buying them, but as I said, Iam afraid.

I bought these rolls at the Walmart in East Peoria, Illinois.

Comment: We just purchased last week a package of Bread du Jour Cracked Wheat Rolls. At the time of purchase we placed them in the freezer to make sure they stayed fresh until we used them. We took them out today to used them and they are covered with mold!

They were dated 12/21 55327 1214 8 0401.

Thanks,

Comment: We purchased a value pack of Hostes cup cakes on or about 10/29/02 at Costco (487) in Sandy, UT.
On 12/16/02 they were sent with two of are family to have with there lunches.
They were so terribly rancid that even the one bite left us feeling sick with a terrible after tast and gaseous type burps. When we returned home we inspected the box and found the date Nov 21 32297. Is this an expired date? Are other people getting sick and having the same problem? How is a consumer to know if the date has expired? We noticed a discolering of the white swirls on top and a gassy kind of smell to the cup cakes.

Comment: We routinely purchase Wonder "Light" white bread. Approximately a week ago we opened a package and found "stuff" in the first six to eight slices. It could be ungrounded grain or it could be something else. Either way we were not about to eat the bread and threw it away. We did keep the "stuff" from the slices mentioned, and the wrapper. I want to send this to them but the only address on their wrapper is Kansas City, MO 64111 and I am concerned that without a street address or P. O. Box it somehow might not get to them. How would I send this to them?

Comment: I purchased a box of mini yankee doodles for $3.29...and was very disappointed with the taste and texture of the cupcakes. They were dry and tough and not pleasant at all. I would not recommend them to anyone and would not purchase them again. The sell by date is Dec.26, and the proof of purchase is 4126125456. Since the box states "freshness guaranteed" I would appreciate a refund.

Comment: I purchased a box of Twinkies from Wal-Mart last week. My husband opened the box two days later and took one out of the package, when he took a bite it was as stale as could be. I checked the date on the box and it was marked sale by Oct 29, well this is December, aren?t the Hostess delivery people who stock the shelves supposed to check the dates and pull off the old when stocking with new? This box of Twinkies was over a month old when I purchased them. I never used to check dates, I always trusted the store and the company stockers but I now check the dates before I purchase them.

Comment: I have purchased "Wonder Bread" for many years now and have always considered it a "premium" brand and have paid the extra cost for the superior taste. Recently purchased 2 loaves of this brand at my local market and noticed that the loaves seemed different. The packages appeared to be fatter and shorter in length and were not well wrapped as in the normal manner. Upon opening these packages I and my family noticed, right away, that the bread was lighter in weight and very airy, as in a cheap brand. The product did not hold together as it should and broke very easily. If the local baking company is substituting a cheap bread and wrapping it in "Wonder Bread" wrappers then this should be investigated. I will no longer purchase this product locally until I can be assured that what I am paying for is, in fact, the actual true product that we have enjoyed for these many years.
I am enclosing the packaging information for your investigation. 09 13 DEC 11 39333 12/07 R3, wrapper band was yellow in color, UPC code was 0 45000 11006 9. Please advise me soonest with your response. Thank you, James D. Gordon and Family. 27620 Salmon River Highway 18, Willamina, Oregon 97396. Tel. # (503) 879-5769

Comment: I purchased a market over a year and a half ago and have been trying to bring hostess products in to sell. I left a message once a week every week for 4 months with the distributor in my area and never received a call back. I stopped the hostess truck several times as he passed my store to service a competitor down the street asking him to contact me or stop by. A year and a half later, nothing. I finally spoke to a very unprofessional individual at the San Diego dist. office who bluntly told me that they are not adding any more customers. Could this be true? Are these franchises or operated as subsidiaries? I find it difficult to believe that a major market like San Diego, CA would be so under-served.

What is the Deal?
I have lost all patience with the local idiots who operate under your name.
May I please sell your products? (should I beg?)

Yesterday I bought a box of Hostess Frosted Donettes to enjoy while we watched the snow today. What a disappointment when we opened them and they were so dry.
The last sale date- DEC.05 68321 20 37 3.18 /LB $2.79

I would think they should still be fresh? Why did this happen?

Comment: Your web comment/question site receives numerous messages I do hope you have time to read and respond to them all. I dearly loved your english muffins and at the "day old" store the price was right. There has been a change in the product, the texture and size of the muffin is very different. The old muffins were thicker and when opened had a rough coarse texture that allowed rivulets of butter, warm jelly and peanut butter to nestle in the small pockets of a non uniform surface.

Excuse me.......Okay I am back I made my self hungry.

The current muffin is thin and has the smooth texture of a stale slice of round bread. Please bring back the "old" muffin.

Comment: I recently purchased a box of Hostess Cup Cakes (14 oz Nov 30 2B07 316) and the amount of creamy filling inside was much lower than the last cup cake I had a few months ago. Compared to the picture on the box, it was around 20% of the amount shown. If you have changed your level of filling on the cup cakes, please change the box as well. I was disappointed with my purchase.
