I.B.C. song of the day:
I'LL NEVER BOTHER KEEPING UP WITH YOU
BURNING THE CANDLE AT BOTH ENDS IT TRUE
YOU KNOW THE WRITING'S ON THE WALL
WHY DO YOU WRITE TO TAKE A FALL
(CHORUS) SLOW DOWN YOU'RE MOVING WAY TOO FAST
SLOW DOWN YOU KNOW YOU'LL NEVER LAST
SLOW DOWN,YOUR HASTE IS MAKING WASTE
SLOW DOWN AND JOIN THE HUMAN RACE
I TRIED TO TELL YOU TIME AND TIME AGAIN
YOU KNOW YOU'LL HAVE TO PAY THE CONSEQUENCE
NOW YOU'RE OBSESSED WITH SUCH A PACE
BUT SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE
(CHORUS)
YOU SEEM TO RUN AROUND AND ROUND IN VAIN
PEOPLE ARE SAYING THAT YO'VE GONE INSANE
TELL ME JUST WHAT YOU'RE RUNNING FROM
ONE DAY YOU'RE HERE THE NEXT YOU'RE GONE TO SHUT DOWN ANOTHER BAKERY.
P.S. Isn't Tony Wonderful |

Comment: our contact over at chicago northside tells of a route being taken off the street. of course, stops spread around, but one guy in particular, the worst route out of the depot, gets no new stops. the guy gets his bread relayed out to his wholesale house, even though it fits on his truck, and who should run the relay-his supervisor. or the supervisor makes the sanitation guy take the bread out-every day. what does this tell you? |

Comment:
Reporting earlier stories today, it seems IBC and their host of labor unions have been quite busy of late, behind closed doors dividing up their spoils of bankruptcy by backroom deals.
If your an affected employee, may God help you! Their first MIA offering will be "your seniority rules" established over these past 50 years of more. There gone! What did you say! They never noticed you? Slaves are not part of the bargaining team! They are only subject to the terms of the contract or the "negotiated" give-backs between the parties of which you and I, are NOT!
Sometime soon you will find yourselves, if your still employed at all, having to report to a different work location many miles away from where you used to report! You can thank your labor unions for selling you out on this point and many more soon coming your way on their next wave of dastardly deeds!
Their state of human depravation knows no limits! |

Cut 14 or so routes (bread) and make us work 14 hours a day. The meetings also are about our contract that has been up for 18 months. Grease up St. Louis !!!!! |

Bad News - Now he is Florida PC's Problem and you all thought that the hurricans were bad. Just wait until he puts his fat a&& into your operation.

It's always nice to know the truth when it comes to issues and people in your workplace. Many if not all employees at IBC are certainly looking down gun barrels today, each fully-loaded with problems but no absolute truths!
What does one do with 20 or more years of service on the day their employer volutarily files for bankruptcy protection from creditors and employee's alike, but continues to keep their front doors open for business?
The best case is to find yourself to be a lottery winner on that dreadfull day and close the book on your days of employment forever.
Who needs a job when you have ready amounts of hot lotto cash? No one needs a job when they already have more money than years left to spend it!
If this is not the case for you then you need to advance to the next set of questions!
Good luck and don't be fooled by someone attempting to sell you on a get rich quick scheme or leads to believe IBC is coming back from bankruptcy hell!

WHAT'S THE FUTURE OF MANKIND
HOW DO I KNOW, I GOT LEFT BEHIND

DON'T LOOK AT ME FOR ANSWERS
DON'T ASK ME - I DON'T KNOW

Comment: To You Know Who -
The problem with management is nationwide. Most of them are descended from the Original Idiot Manager, who made sure he didn't hire anyone smarter than him. I feel sorry for the few good ones who are around. It doesn't help them maintain a good attitude when they get lumped in with the majority.
I once told my depot manager that I needed a Saturday off to travel to a wedding in which I was a member of the wedding party. He said " yeah well I missed a lot of weddings in my day. Maybe next time."
That Saturday was the first day of work I had ever taken off to that point.
They must get no training whatsoever in employee relations.
PS - Chapter 7 ain't gonna happen. Don't forget Mr. Alvarez recently got an "attaboy" from the bankruptcy judge. Judge Jerry said everything was going smoothly and no problems were forseen. We'll be out of bankruptcy by early 2007, according to me. |

It is situations like this that gives I.B.C. a bad reputation. I would tell your supervisor to document the situation , and you will bring in documentation showing that you had to help your family member. Also, call H.R. before you pull in from rt. , and explain the situation to them before you even talk to your supervisor. Let's face it , I.B.C. really has alot of idiots as managers. Use this guideline as a future reference , and it will help to diffuse most situations. Also, ask your mgr. for 1-800 # to H.R. , he would be required to assist you. I might add, that he would be glad to assist you ...... Yeah Right!!!!!! |

In the other PCs where bakeries closed, are there any thrift stores still open? If no bread is going to be in the NW it seems pretty unlikely that the company would ship fresh bread (with the high cost of fuel) all the way from Billings or wherever, doesn't it? |

Comment: i'm not very good at this, but here goes: three weeks ago, my 68 year old mom broke her right femur. terrible brake for someone who is a diabetic. the break was so bad, they had to fix it with hardware. after leaving the hospital, she had to go to a rehab center for two weeks to get some therapy. last saturday (oct. 22), she was to be discharged. i pulled into the depot at around 10am, having made all my stops, and sold all my product. my supervisor told me that i couldn't pull in that early, 12:30pm is pull in time. i explained the situation to him, and he said "i don't care, you can't pull in till 12:30. i asked him what i should do. again he said "i don't care what you do, just don't pull in till 12:30". at that point i said to him "i'm here, and i'm going to take my mom home from the hospital". he mentioned something about some guy named dan angst who might be coming around and if he saw my truck in at that time there would be hell to pay. i said to my supervisor to tell mr. angst to call me directly and that i would explain. my supervisor told me that i couldn't talk to him directly. this is a terrible thing that a company who has employees that work as hard as we do, that have family lives have to go through this to do the things that are important. the job is important, yes. but my wife, kids, parents, brothers and sisters are and always will be more important than eddie booker (supervisor) dan angst, bread, jewel, dominiks, walgreens or bread. if i have something important to do, i'm comming in! like it or not! if anyone has a problem with that, too bad. |

Comment: I have been reading these post for a long time and I have never been compelled to post any thougts, well here you go. What makes any of you think that Tony or anyone at IBC owes you anything. You each get a paycheck for doing your jobs, most are proabably over paid anyone, you probably bitch more than you do your job. Sure, the company has had lousy leadership but they are doing the moves to save the whole.
Were you bitching about your job when you bought your house, your new truck, the big screen TV, or the trip to Hawaii, probably not. Look around your house and look at all the things IBC provided for you and your family, your kids probably have new Nike's and Abrecrombe shirts. Sure it sucks to thank most of us have to find new jobs but the next time you bitch about what your loosing, thank about what you have received. The one thing that would be nice if anyone important from IBC is reading this is information about the DEC 17th closure at Lakewood. |

Comment:
In AZ there wil be 90-100 routes left after the cuts. All routes must be re-structured (Dolly, Hostess, and Wonder all on the same truck) and re-bid by Nov. 19. Re-structuring will begin in the outlying areas and then move on to the metropolitan areas. Base pay goes from $350/week to $338/week. Commission goes from 9.5% to 9.75%.Contributions to Health and Welfare increased to go from level 3 to level 4 Health coverage. No word on how much seniority keeps a job. We are so short right now that they have Help Wanted signs taped to the rear doors of the trucks. Seniority is dovetailed for the Hostess and Dolly drivers. All of these figures are based on the current Hostess contract. The Dolly drivers actually took a pay cut (.25%). The Dolly contracts will be dissolved as of 11/14. This is only an extension of the contract through 2/28/06. |

In addition to the fall of IBC, one more thing in America is now becoming quite clear! Membership is on the rise when it comes to Right to Work States.
California will soon be joining them due to there pending November election fiasco for Props 74,75,76 and 77. Labor unions in California are force-feeding their membership rolls in their effort to stave-off their governor in his attempts to govern their State!
It seems these unions collectively want to continue to lie, cheat and to steal from California's citizens, unfettered!
Reports today indicate their spending more than $130 million dollars in their attempts to bury their current Governor Schwarzenegger, before his time!
It's going to be a shoot-out in Californa between the forces of evil (today's labor unions) against their Governator, Mr. Good Guy and Citizen's of California like you and I!
Get off the fence and get busy saving you ass, folks in California! How do you do this, you ask! Make sure your registered and then vote your little hearts out! It's that simple!
Please, Vote YES on these FOUR for sure! |

How smart is it to send cake 2000 miles at $3.00 a gallon for gas, when it could be made and shipped 300 miles away. Now who doesnt know his ass from the hole??????

Comment: I.B.C. song of the day:
Next time your found, with your chin on the ground
There a lot to be learned, so look around
Just what makes that little old ant
Think he?ll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can?t
Move a rubber tree plant
But he?s got high hopes, he?s got high hopes
He?s got Hostess apple pie, in the sky hopes
So any time your gettin? low
?stead of lettin? go
Just remember that ant
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant
When troubles call, and your back?s to the wall
There a lot to be learned, that I.B.C. could fall
All problems just a toy balloon
They?ll be bursted soon
They?re just bound to go pop
Oops there goes another problem kerplop.Oops there goes another benefit. Oops there goes another pay raise.Oops there goes another severance check.
P.S. Guess What ? It only gets better as we get near Xmas. |

We should'nt be so hard on IBC over their ABA pension thing. After all, they have only been part and parcel of this employee retirement plan since 1961, therein paying into it at the rate of millions of dollars every passing month since then.
My bet is they now seek to kill it off and make a run for the border, as fast as their hog-guzzling SUV's pulling U-Haul trailers (filled with our retirement dollars) can take them. |

Comment: the s.e.c. says IBC owes 63 million for their share of pension funds to ABA. the brain trust at IBC says maybe 23 million, but they really have no clue. bad accounting as well as computer glitches. IBC is so screwed up I don't even think "all the kings men and all the kings hoarses can put it together again!
If IBC was so bad with their accounting then why is Kafoure, Morgan and all the VP'S still hanging in, are they not the problem.
i can't wait till the s.e.c. gets a grip on this and puts most of them in jail? the books have been cooked so long now that even the head chef is trying to get out of the kitchen... |

If I found myself to be an outside automotive/truck parts vendor at IBC and reading today's post's, I would be filled with joy and rubbing my hands together knowing they would soon be overflowing with IBC cash!
I would sell them record amounts of truck tires, overload springs, axels, towing and service truck road service calls! But not on credit, however!
When they cut routes on one end, they increase their existing routes on the other end! Increased routes end up with overloaded trucks. Overloaded trucks cause axels to break, springs to collapse and tires to blow out! You can guess the rest!
In the end, I should be making more money off IBC than their sales department could ever hope to make! Now please sign here, Alvarez! |

Comment: Hot off the phone with HR. They wanted to know if I was the one who "detailed" exactly how IBC is "paying" to take care of it's legal woes with employee filings. They now have over 60 claims filed in the last 72 hrs. and are going to go back to court and ask for another $2MM dollars to cover these claims. They have received 19 claims of sexual harrassment and are procesing 9 more from today. If my fellow employees want to take a parting-shot at IBC and get paid--FILE TODAY! Check are going to Kansas City for approval and quick resolution to these filings. From my perspective in management, you guys and gals need to get what you can and let IBC sort out the financial mess. Anyone that has been in contact with Jim Flynn or his cronnies--file today. If it weren't for his buddy in the higher-up hot seat--Flynn would be gone. One week from tomorrow, many of you will get the suprise that you have been in denial over for years..... The trucks are positioned and empty; waiting for the go-ahead to move in and disassemble the first six stores. Seattle, I am sorry I will be part of this schirade. I will call you that night to let you know what we are doing. It's just not right, but I must save my job for my family. Good Luck to each of you. |

Comment: Based on the post that states "Latest rumor/fact is 100+ routes will be off of the streets in 90 days (now I will let you figure out who goes first). And oh by the way you take that many routes off, why do you need all of the bakeries (so goodbye Boonville, St. Louis)."
Well here we go again, that Jack@@@ Smith was thrown out of here once - somehow he landed as the GM for Davenport, where we hear he slept with the accounting girls, and left the place for dead. Then lands again as a Friggen VP. Know idea who he sleeps with now, but he'll probably be the next EVP GOD HELPS US ALL.
This fool has done more for killing route sales than anything else.
The real question that I have is how come he can have a Company Car (brand new) and use it to come see his kids (oh yeah they still live here)and the company just looks the other way? @ $3.00 a gallon, it must be nice to have the trip paid for, hell he probably pays for the kids dinner and sends it thru as a Company paid dinner. But have a DSM run his kid to school on the way to the depot he gets a reprimand stating that no unauthorized (non IBC) people are to be in the car, expect for customers. Hell it just goes along with the fact that we get no raise but he sure gets his $30,000 bonus (oh I am sorry that was paid in two checks, how could he manage since it was not all at once), plus he gets the retention bonus as well what is that another $40,000 in what two checks as well or is three. Alverz get a damm clue will ya, this is just one DUMB VP, he survived by stepping on everyone to get to where he is today. Now that all of the real workers are leaving who will he blame this time.
If you are going to do it then just shut us down and pay us our money and stop this stupid game. |

Please remember this, folks!
No matter how difficult your worklife becomes at IBC, it will never reach the levels of sheer dispair and utter hopelessness our workers face in their employment within our Nation's Major Airlines.
This rather select group of American employers seems to have found the best of all worlds and are riding high on our backs and your last dime!
Namely, the four largest global carriers (United, Delta, US Airways and Northwest) are in bankruptcy. Over the last four years, these private sector majors have managed to soak up $15 to $20 billion in public and subsidy aid loan guarantees from taxpayers like you and I!
Why? Well many say it is because they are protected by law from facing foreign ownership or direct competition! While the jobs you and I once held in America are shipped overseas like low-hanging fruit, American airline companies are kept alive by Chapter 11 protection and allowed to walk away from their defunct trillion dollar employee pension plans, on a dead run!
It's been called an economic madness to allow this practice to continue!
The only way this fiasco could have happened to begin with, was these airlines conspired with their labor unions and a few select politicians in all levels of our government.
The State of California is facing this same problem today with their teachers, nurses, police and firefighter unions and their entire membership rolls.
Collectively, they want the citizens of California to keep them in tall cotton forever!
This November, the call for freedom goes out to every voter in California to act up and to vote YES on Props. 74, 75, 76 and 77!
In my humble opinion, should these four Props fail to pass, California will most likely end up, belly up and corrupt to the bone, just like IBC finds themselves today! |

1 The company losing money and the decision makers spend more than they have to close the big bakeries that can save the company and transfer stuff to a much worse off bakery where the supervisors dont give a crap and nobody listens to what they say.

IBC HR Memo
Insofar as there appears to be far more openings in management level positions than we could ever hope to fill in light of our bankruptcy filings, our fearless leader Alvarez has determined we shall fill these postions in the future by drawing names from his red hat.
As always, Alvarez has once again saved our bacon! Whoops! I forgot, please forgive me.
Insofar as we now own Waste Management and their newest line of dumpsters, such abusive language (bacon-hogs-squealing like a wounded pig) is simply not permitted at IBC any longer. |

Comment: Has no one at GO noticed that everyone with the SC PC, AKA the Smith Show, is leaving. We have lost the following people - Finance & Production have jumped ship - One left the Company and the Other is headed somewhere else in the Company. Rumor has it Sales is about to pull out as well, that only leaves Supply Chain or HR to deal with the Antics of the Smith Fool. Which neither of these two wimps will stand up to Smith - Yes Sir how can we help you SCREW the routemen and production shops.
How can this Guy survive.
Smith is still trying to kill Dolly and Butternut (sorry Emporia, Springfield & Boonville), but face it this guy only cares about Wonder and Hostess labels. But again GO lets him get away with it. Latest rumor/fact is 100+ routes will be off of the streets in 90 days (now I will let you figure out who goes first). And oh by the way you take that many routes off, why do you need all of the bakeries (so goodbye Boonville, St. Louis).
Lenexa is safe, since the Master sits here in our corner office (this may be the only time that we are glad he is here). Just remember what he has done, in the past. |

Well, let me see if I'm stinking thinking like IBC today! This morning when I awoke, I thought it was a good day. However, one can't always be sure of things like this especially since I've been waking up since 1961 and in the same room!
I guess I will have to wait to see if I was right. No! I can't trust you to tell me I'm right or wrong. I need something independent and even then how can I be sure!
Call me back tomorrow. I may have more information for you then. In the meantime, I feel this pension plan thing is a multi-employer plan and they (whomsoever they comes to be!) owe millions more than I could ever hope to pay for! |

UPDATE 1-IBC may miss filing deadline, face default
Wed Oct 26, 2005 08:29 AM ET
(Adds details on pension)
CHICAGO, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Interstate Bakeries Corp. (IBCIQ.PK: Quote, Profile, Research) , the bankrupt maker of Hostess Twinkies and Wonder bread, on Wednesday said it does not have enough information to file its already delayed financial statements with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
If it cannot file by Dec. 31, that will trigger a default on its debtor-in-possession financing unless lenders waive the requirement, IBC said in a statement.
IBC said it was still seeking "accurate and reliable" information about its defined benefit pension plan, and cannot file its annual reports for the years ending May 2004 and May 2005, or several quarterly reports from periods dating back as far as November 2003.
The company said it disagrees with the American Bakers Association Retirement Plan over the level of underfunding for which IBC is responsible.

If your not union (teamsters) then good luck; however, a possible answer can be that the company is IBC not CBC and who ever has more time in IBC should have senority. |

If you need a lift, let me suggest you surf over to WalMart's recent news report on their aging workforce and added costs per employee's with one-year or more of service.
The gal who wrote this report, I feel was surely dressed in a German uniform from World War Two when she submitted it to her aptly-dressed WalMart superiors!
What she recommends is WalMart needs to fire all their employees with one year or more service. It seems these little critters continue to cost WalMart more to keep than their acutally worth, at least on paper!

Comment: Interstate Bakeries Updates Expectations of Ability to File
Delayed SEC Reports
Provides Update Regarding Status of Defined Benefit Pension Plan Review
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Interstate Bakeries Corporation (OTC: IBCIQ) said today that the company continues to seek information it deems accurate and reliable enough to enable it to properly account for a defined benefit pension plan to which it contributes. However, at this time, IBC does not have sufficient information from the pension plan and its representatives necessary for IBC to complete its financial statements and thereafter make its required filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The pension plan in question, the American Bakers Association (ABA) Retirement Plan, was established in 1961 to provide benefits to certain employees of several unrelated companies in the baking industry. IBC is currently one of seven active participating sponsors under the pension plan. Prior to the company's recent restructuring efforts, approximately 900 active IBC employees participated under the pension plan, although the number of active employees has significantly decreased as a result of those efforts.
While the company continues to seek the necessary information, it has not yet obtained this information and is not able to predict if and when such information will be available. Accordingly, IBC is not able to provide any assurances on its ability to file with the SEC its Annual Reports on Form 10-K for the fiscal years ended May 29, 2004 and May 28, 2005, Quarterly Reports for the quarters ended August 21, 2004, November 13, 2004, March 5, 2005 and August 20, 2005, amended Quarterly Reports for the quarters ended November 15, 2003 and March 6, 2004, and future periodic reports required to be filed with the SEC. In addition, under the terms of IBC's "debtor-in-possession" (DIP) credit facility, failure to file audited financial statements for fiscal 2005 with its lenders before December 31, 2005, will result in a default thereunder unless IBC's lenders waive such requirement or amend the DIP credit facility to extend the required filing date.
The representatives of the ABA Retirement Plan have asserted that as of May 31, 2005, the present value of accrued benefits under the pension plan attributable to IBC's employees and retirees was approximately $60 million and the assets in the pension plan attributable to IBC had a negative balance of about $3 million, resulting in IBC's share of the total pension plan underfunding being approximately $63 million. These amounts are based upon the assumption that the pension plan is an aggregate of single employer pension plans. However, IBC believes that the pension plan has been historically administered as a multiple employer plan and should be treated as such. Treatment of the ABA Retirement Plan as a multiple employer plan will, in IBC's view, result in an allocation of pension plan assets to IBC's pension plan participants in an amount equal to approximately $37 million. Accordingly, IBC believes that its allocable share of pension plan underfunding relative to IBC's pension plan participants is approximately $23 million. IBC is still reviewing the manner and basis for the calculation of pension plan assets and liabilities and there can be no assurance as to the accuracy of IBC's asset and liability balances in the pension plan at this time.
In addition, IBC notes its expectation that future required contributions to the ABA Retirement Plan will increase as compared to its historical contributions and this increase will be substantial even if the pension plan is finally determined to be a multiple employer plan. A final determination that the ABA Retirement Plan should be considered an aggregate of single employer plans will cause the increase in contributions to be even more significant. IBC's responsibility to pay its allocable share of the pension plan underfunding and future required contributions, as well as the timing of such payments, may be impacted by application of the bankruptcy code and/or other applicable law.
IBC's preliminary determination that its obligations under the ABA Retirement Plan should be considered obligations under a single employer pension plan as announced in its April 20, 2005, release has been called into question in light of information regarding the operation of the pension plan and other matters that have come to IBC's attention during its continuing review of the ABA Retirement Plan issues. Although IBC now believes the pension plan should be treated as a multiple employer plan, it will likely be required to account for its interests in the pension plan as a single employer plan for all periods prior to a final determination that the pension plan is a multiple employer plan if such determination is ever made. Due to the uncertainties surrounding its interest in the pension plan, IBC is still not able to predict wit |

Comment: From a fellow employee, to all of my working friends, still at WonderBread, there is a life after that place! I know how hard all of you have worked to keep the company afloat, and how bad we were all treated as employees, I wish all you the very best in finding new jobs, for those who will not be able to retire after they close the Bakery. I know you may not see it, but it is a blessing in disguise. Take care my friends:} |

Rode the hot flames of that jet many times.
Even tried to air these puppies out in the open air to cool things down worked for a while.
Thank God someone invented Corn Starch otherwise I think it is possible to wear a hole in your bag and lose your marbles.
Give me a box of Corn Starch and I was ready for another 12 hour shift. |

You go girl!!! These stupid stock boys would'nt know how to work at a job where that can't smoke all day and hide out behind a store waiting for the time that they are told they can return to a depot. What these stock boys can't seem to understand is we do not set prices of any thing in the stores. The head office does. The outlet employees all know our jobs are the first to go, but as you saw in the next area to close - STOCK BOYS can be replaced too. |

IBC strongly considers current payroll for Teamster employee's relative to the work they actually perform to be their most excessive and thereby expendable employee's. For this reason and none other, did we choose to lower their employment terms first.
Please be patient should you find yourself not to be mis-represented by the Teamsters. We will soon get around to you and your blood-sucking labor unions too! |

There's absolutely no doubt about it folks, when it comes to what lengths IBC will go in their attempts to push their corporate lies upon their consumers and employee's, alike.
If Jay Leno on the Tonight's Show, decided to do a parody on IBC's ESL-SOAR-based lies, his viewers would find themselves paralyzed with endless laughter.
One story line would depict a flock of low-flying SOAR corporate buzzards circling overhead a huddled mass of humans trying to save themselves from certain death by hunger, while attempting to consume a loaf of ESL Wonder Bread in the form of a petrified rock. |

Comment: Well we just got word on the first of the stores to close in Washington state. We are due to arrive a week from Friday (Nov. 4th). There will be teams of 2-3 people going into each location after closing that night to "tear-down" as Flynn put it. They will not disclose the locations early due to the number of "false" worker's comp claims that could be submitted. I advise each of you (Hurt or Not) to file a claim today. This will force us in Mgmt. to keep you on the payroll after the involuntary layoffs. We have empty semi trailers ready to be dropped at each location Friday evening and they would like us to dismantle each and every store in an eight-hour period. There are seven on the first week's list and seven each of the succesive five weeks. I am so sorry to each of you for being the bearer of bad news:( Please take the steps and file your discrimination, sexual harrassment, or disability claims NOW! What the company does not tell you is that after they terminate (involuntary layoff as Jim Flynn puts it) they will NOT investigate the claims. The company has a sliding-scale that only upper management knows about; this scale has been approve by the attorney's and it give a "lump-sum" amount to each person who files a claim; this is to just allow that person to "go away". Discrimination gets the filer $5,000, Sexual harrassment gets the filer $5,000 or $10,000 if it is against a member of management and disability gets between $7,500-$10,000. Yes, this is what the company has set aside to avoid legal costs. Here's the catch though.. They will only pay it to the first 125 people who file in the Northwest profit center--roughly $1.5MM dollars. Don't wait for us, in management, to silently shutter your store. Once we close your store, IBC is off the hook and no one from a closing store in eligible for these "lump" payouts. $10,000 buys you plenty of time to find a new job. Call HR tomorrow and report your injury, discrimination or sexual harrassment ($10,000 if it was by management) DON'T WAIT ANOTHER DAY.. THEY MAY BUMP UP THE TIMETABLE. TIME IS MONEY.............................................. |

The problems facing IBC today are those same problems facing most of us where we end up looking for love and acceptance in all the wrong places!
There are some differences however which serve to differentiate them from the rest of the pack looking for love or whatever and it is these points which serve to hold them back without end.
Failing to find people with talent at the top is one of them!
Organizations of whatever nature simply do not run from the bottom rung up to the top!
Every major decision they have made starting with SOAR and ESL have ended up as a major trajedy for them. |

Comment: Well, now I'm pissed--just got out of an "emergency" meeting about the bakery outlets here in the northwest. Some emergency---I went to this meeting to find out that we are closing every bakery outlet in the northwest over the next 60 days! Then I was told if I said anything, they would not give me the 60-days of severence pay. Well, by posting it here they will not know who "spilled the beans". Just be aware all, that every bakery outlet in the northwest (Outside of California) has gotten the approval from the courts to close. I am sorry to break the news to everyone, but I felt you all had the right to know. Jim Flynn was the catalyst of this move--he will attempt to tell you otherwise; or for that matter deny the closing all together. Jim, I don't know how you live with yourself.. I will put in my notice before you close all stores over the next 60 days. I will NOT be part of this secretive plan for closure. Too many families affected. |

Comment: Mr. Jim Ervin, do you know your duties and repsonsibilities are? Please read your contract again. Additionally, please read a book about management. First and foremost, what is your most important asset? Ans: your employees. Take care of them and they will take care of you. Do not be blinded and just see the production line. You have different departments in your plant. Please help yourself succeed in your work. See the processes on how we do business and figure out how to improve them and minimize losses. Talk to your worker bees and ask their concerns. Try to improve their working conditions i.e. working hours, working relationship with their co-workers and especially with their immediate supervisors. Most supervisors do not even know how to talk to their people, let alone lead. Have you ever thought of having a supervisors' seminar? If you are interested in improving their moral, then check what make moral non-exixting. Mr. Ervin, please wake up. |

I purchase most of the cakes at Giant Eagle in Monongahela, Pa. The one I purchase this week, box numbers 00284 AA sell by Oct 29 $3.49 was hard like it was stale, and the chocolate icing was watery. I think this might be in interest to you. |

Why can't this company stay on track?
Now my husband is facing a job loss because of your closures and shutdowns.
It isn't easy to raise a large family and pay our expenses without a stable job.
Thanks a lot IBC-once again you have screwed over the people who are making the money for you. |

I have been baking breads for many years, I enjoy workiing with my hands and creating interesting breads. I ALWAYS use the finest UN-bleached stone grownd flower for better taste, vitimins and minerals. Occasionally I will buy a loaf at Wal- Mart Neighborhood stores and have been buying "Dutch Hearth" Buttermilk bread but recently the quality has really gone way down. I would say it is the wheat flour used. Maybe it is cheap, old or stale but it is NOT good anymore and I will stop buying this poor quality bread. I have known the Walton family now for years and will inform them (Lee Scott-CEO) that this bread is pure "crap" ! |

The Kansas City-based company (OTCBB: IBCIQ) said in a filing late Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission that Magill's salary is now $265,000 a year, up from $229,984. The company also promoted Magill from vice president to executive vice president.
On Aug. 10, the company said that increased costs for reorganization and restructuring and decreased sales drove its greater loss for the four weeks that ended June 25 compared with the prior month.
For the period, the maker of Wonder Bread and Twinkies reported a loss of $9.1 million, more than three times the loss of $2.8 million for the month that ended May 28.
Gross income for the period was $254.4 million, down 6.5 percent from $272.1 million for the prior month.
In April, the company said it had begun a review of its 10 regional profit centers. Since then, it has said it would close bakeries in Miami; Charlotte, N.C.; New Bedford, Mass.; Southern California; and San Francisco, eliminating 3,950 jobs and consolidating production routes, depots and thrift stores in the process.
Interstate Bakeries filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in September, citing liquidity problems. |

Comment: i have mixed feelings about this company. my husband works very hard 12 to 14 hours a day. the pay is good, but we don't see him that much. he is always tired. if he starts a project around the house on sunday, he can't finish it untill wednesday. he can't get a day off to save his life. his supervisor is an idiot. my summation: this company only cares about bread. they do not care about their employees as human beings, or the family situations that surround them. i will begin to ask my husband to look for a better job, one where management believes that an employee should be allowed to put his family first. my husband told me that his supervisor once told him that nothing is more important than the job we do. i have news for him. |

Everybody goes out and orders these whether they need them or not.
Now we got any piece of crap tell us what the official logo is for the uniforms.
I hope everyone gets with their local uniform company and tells them that they have to rip off the old patches and apply the official IBC logo patch.
Lets make sure we get rid of the a hole thats watching over the pens and tiny Tim thats going to be on the look out for the correct patch on your uniform.
Doesn't this company have better things to do then this petty stuff? |

With all CBC Execs who actually new how to run the show from Larry Batty, Battys phillosophy's are long gone, now we have the Chuck Sullivan slum execs from IBC. IBC couldnt run a bakery before CBC so they thought they could run down CBC and now we see it................. |

For those that missed it earlier, the Teamsters have broken ranks with their parent, the AFL-CIO.
The Teamsters Union is now contending they divorced themselves for the sake of America's workforce!

If your been thinking help will arrive before IBC and your Unions (in reality, "their Unions") cast you aside, then stop thinking stupid and start thinking smart!
You are not their most favorite thing in life and you are mostly thought of as dumb and expendable.
America is presently in the throes of one giant Yard Sale, whereby each day something sacred is sold or traded by their politicians, corporations and labor unions alike for the sake of the almighty dollar and their personal struggles for absolute power!
The best thing you can do for yourself is to face this truth head on!
America today is mostly about lies and corruption! The face of slavery has turned into the face of America's Workforce! Civil war in America is just around the next taxation or gay marriage corner!
The true founding spirit of America will always be found in their working class people!
Ringing the bell of Freedom always has it's price for those who choose to ring it the loudest! |

Alvarez just pushes buttons and closes plants. He doesn't care about us at all. He'll take clients out to lunch all day while we are worked to the bone!! That's unfair! We get paid crappy and management treats us like dogs! |

When I tried to explain to them on several occasions that they couldn't sit in the breakroom for an hour because there break was only for fifteen minutes they would file a greivience against me for harrassement. They think that work means to sit in the breakroom and play Pokemon Cards. Gee! and the Bakery went belly up. I can't imagine why. |

Comment: To anonymous in Lakewood. It actually does not apear that retail locations in Washington and Oregon, will be hit nearly as hard as the other departments. You will remain receiving all of your current cake items in the same manner as always, and bread items will likely be sent in from either Billings or Ogden. I would imagine dislocated and outlying stores wil get the axe, however. Hope this helps. |

Comment: I.B.C. song of the day:
Ready for a cheap escape
On the brink of self destruction
Widespread panic
Broken glass inside my head
Bleeding down these thoughts of
Anguish... mass confusion
The company is a sick machine
With such a desolate conclusion
Fill the void with... I don't care
There's a plague inside of me
Eating at my disposition
Nothing's left
Torn out of reality
Into a state of no opinion
Limp with anger
The company is a sick machine
Breeding a state of confusion
With such a desolate conclusion
p.s. Thanks Jerry for the encouragement. Some people like me ,and some do not. |

Comment: to the person who was asking abiut severence pay, i do not know about any where else but the bakery i worked out of i do not believe any one got severence pay. i gave it up after 21 years i feel a lot better now sense i do not half to worry about what merita is going to do, i hope ibc does sell to another company and the people gets a company that cares about the workers. ben gone a month now and i have allready had an offer to go to work for another company, not as much money as i made at ibc but a lot less bull crap and eighteen hours a day to put up with. if they do not sell i hope that working conditions gets better for all the workers that is left. razz would you write a song so some one can sing it at my funeral i do not care what any one else saids you write good songs. every one take care . |

Comment: I.B.C. song of the day:
Do you have the time,
To listen to me whine,
About nothing and everything
All at once,
I am one of those
Melodramatic fools,
Neurotic to the bone,
No doubt about it
[Chorus]
Sometimes i give myself the creeps,
Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me,
It all keeps adding up,
I think im cracking up,
Am i just paranoid?
Grasping to control,
So I better hold on

Comment: Everyone,
First, if we were being sold, then the street would be reacting in terms of our stock price. This is not happening as of 11 am Weds. That being said, word is that K-R-A-F-T has forensic people going through our financials right now. This would actually be a very good thing if it is true. |

On the few occasions I did see you, you did nothing except try and get your hands up Cathy Compton's skirt. You are a fat, disgusting, bozo who knows nothing about retail. One final thought; using the Nig*er word to describe some of your employees is wrong. You laughed outwards, I cried inwards--you are a racist Jim Flynn |

Comment: Anyone that has been around for a number of years. It sikening to watch this company and the officers that ran it destoy it.
First they hired accentra to start the down fall and the hemorrging started.
Then we created numorous jobs at levels that where not needed and the blood letting continued.
Hired consultants just days before BK. Wasting more money.
Then we bring in Tony and his band of thieves, more money down the drain.
Now we all sit by and watch as we carve up the pieces.
The thieves and crooks make good company as they have yet looked at all those jobs that were created before BK.
Sooner or later these thieves and crooks will be looking at each other not knowing who they can trust or who will try to make points by snitching on each other, then and only then will this company pull out of this downward fall.
We are so top heavy that this ship cannot continue to float. |

Comment: "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams"
I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone
I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of I.B.C. Broken Dreams
When the city sleeps
and I'm the only one along with drunks and I walk alone
I walk alone

Comment: Damn---- I guess it is true! Well you know what they say about a crissis, it's an opportunity in disguise. Keep your chins up and I'll be seeing you all on the other side of IBC. Outside the locked gates at 8500 Durango St. Lakewood WA. Time to hit the pavement and find a better place of employment. I've loved working with most of you, the rest don't deserve the time or the space in this communication. We will survive this inconvenience, a minor bump in the road of life. Hang in there and keep on doing your best.. A new beginning and a job I really don't like doing--- looking for another job that is!!!! Oh by the way, Have a very warm Thanksgiving and Beautiful Christmas. Severance should take us beyond the New Year and unemployment beyond that. Now all I have to do is finish my addition on the house-- somehow. Peace and Good Luck in 2006 |

You are an ass. You have been posting shit like this for a year.
Do you have any idea what it would take to complete a sale. They can't take a shit without the credit committee and the BK Judge.
The next time you get the urge to post something, don't. Go outside and tell everyone you see, what an ass you are. Do this till the urge goes away.

Comment: It all boils back to education.
Or knowing all the information instead of bits and pieces. How can you make sound informed decsions
when they keep you in the dark.
And who is these shop stewards who tell the plant manager not to talk to the plant union members. Why because then the shop guy knows...he has power because he knows the plant is not going under. But he wants to ride the fear factor maybe get a few more to join because of his rederick to say the union is going to save the day. ha ha ha ha ha |

Comment: Lets take a head count and see who's left after the weekend?
So far we have had a Plant Manager from Glendale Bakery that stepped down into a Foremans position that was created for him. He's now back in the union enjoying life again.
San Diego had their Shipping Manager step down, he went back into the Union as a worker. He too is happy and sleeping much better.
Heard Glendale will have another Supervisor go back into the Union. At least he will get paid for the overtime he has been working.
Does letting all these former managers or supervisors go back into the union after being non-union for 15 to 25 plus years?
Just think they can now get the much higher pension amounts that the union offers and not contribute one penny for medical benefits.
Just does not seem fair that you have managers and supervisors staying and trying to hold down the ship and we are rewarding these weak souls by letting them return to the union who seems to be doing a good job of taking care of their members.
Can't say the same about IBC who seems like they don't give a damn about the ones who are sticking to the course and pull this company out of BK.
Should all of us in a supervisory position consider going back into the Union?

Comment: Yes it's true that the company had a number in mind when it was planning the route cuts. And you can bet the number they gave the union was higher. With the concessions they got a give-back from the union that didn't cost them any "chips". They'll end up with the number of routes cut that they wanted all along.
That being said, the alternative for the union was to refuse to negotiate. The company would run straight to the bankruptcy judge and ask him to void all their contracts. Seeing that the union wasn't going to help bring the company out of bankruptcy, he would do that in a heartbeat. That's the part everyone keeps forgetting about. It's also what the employees of Delphi are facing right now. The average Delphi employee makes $27 an hour. The company wants to cut that in half, virtually insuring the union will tell them to go to hell and walk out. That is Delphi's strategy. They want the union to refuse to negotiate so they can ask the judge to cancel the contracts. The fact that Delphi workers are the highest paid, by far, in their industry guarantees the judge will oblige.
We're lucky in two ways. One, all contracts remain in force. We keep most of our jobs and healthcare. And two, when these extensions expire in five years it's possible that the company will be back on their feet and doing well. It is then that we remind them what we did for them in 2005, and we fucking hammer them in the next contract. |

Comment: I Believe Several I.B.C. Managers Are Hard Working And Get Crapped On A Lot. But Our Supervisors Dont Do Anything But Sit In Their Office Playing On The Computer. They Have Plenty Of Help To Make Sure That They Dont Ever Have To Run A Route. And Yes Remember That The Company Is Going To Cut The Same # Of Routes Regardless Of Whether You Give Any Concessions Or Not. I.B.C. Seems Incapable Of Telling The Truth To Their Employees. |

Comment: All over the country supervisors are quitting.Heard that in Tulsa no one would apply for a Division Mgr. job and they ran an ad in the paper and hired someone off the street! i'm no genius, but even I would have to assume that the quality of the middle management of this company has really went downhill. If a job pays a decent wage and people are leaving that means that they are not treated very well by there superiors. This could be the final nail in the coffin. |

Comment: All union employees,
Please don't feel bad union employees in philly you guys have it made. I worked for this crappy company before, It does suck in philly. The supervisors out work the union employees. There benifits suck...There raises were stripped...They can't even take a day off without Bill Hagen bitching, and there department heads give them no support!!!! They work so hard and they get clobbered over the head so much .This company mistreats there supervisors my husband and his co-workers can't even get a ph he is terified to even call out sick what a shame ... isn't that so bad? Supervisors are leaving in bunches thru out the country doesn't anyone see the picture .Ibc treats there supervisors like dogs! especially in philly and I know how a jerk off that plant manager is. Atleast he should take care of his first line supervisors there on the floor sweeping floors, putting bread on racks making the machines run,
sweating in 120 degree temps I bet he doesn't worry about that temperature.. on wrap room floor. Prick!!! Kill your supervisors that way you don't have to fire them or lay them off. They already get paid less then union employees and do more...What a shame! |

Comment: This is my personal experience when you file a greivance. IBC
never stops finding fault with you.
You get handed a letter that you're asked to deliver to your relative who also works their. Surprise it isn't a payroll check.. No it's a letter of disciplinary action. Seems to me that there is a policy already set in which a supervisor is to bring in your shop steward and yourself and you are in person to receive discipline. Of course I have only been with the company 20 some years but isn't that a violation of company and union policy to do otherwise.
You know what happens when you file a grievance for being abused and used.
Next week your get a job performance....every body elses mistakes that can be blamed on you is. You grieve that and you tell your union you are being harrassed and singled out for discrimination. But oh no we like the manager, according to the union we have had worse so we don't want to call any attention to his unethical treatment of employees because we think he is a good guy. And when in another meeting you point how other persons are making mistakes.
It's yes they make repeated mistakes over and over but ......
yep there are employees that can screww up all the time and ones who are even allowed to sneeze.
BUT THAT'S NOT DISCRIMINATION |

Comment: Did anyone ask if all IBC employees are treated the sames unilatterally?
Take attendance policy.
I heard Emporia gets double jepardoy on their attendance.
1 to 5 minutes per time and per the plant manager it isn't counted against you attendance wise. 5 minutes and above to get counted as lates and if your 1/2 hour late or more it's a half day hit. You only get 6 lates and then bam you are hit with a warning.
Now if you are late by a few seconds and up to 5 minutes...sure you don't get a late. Here's where double jeparody comes in...now it's job performance and it's at the supervisor at the time to determine if you are going to warrant a warning. The plant manager forgives anything under 5 minutes but if you have an ass hole super you're screwed. |

Comment: To superviosors
I am sorry that you think this site is trash. Why is that?
People with a lot of built up steam can blow off here instead of blow off someone's heads because they went postal.
Really tsk tsk tsk tsk.
Do you feel the heat is on your management skills because there is a little truth to the complaints.
You are the front line defense and you are letting sloppy work and product slip by and out on the shelves. Bad product is worse than bad advertisement.
Haven't you heard about one satisfied consumer will bless your product to two or three people but
piss off that same consumer and they will tell ten to fifthteen people in complaints.
Now IBC think about that.
Think about why there is so many markets down in sales.
So many unhappy workers, sales men out there. Why are they needing to post here. Quit blaming your underlings man. Get a grip yourself.
Quit being pass the buck man.
You plant manager should make sure everybody is educated out there. Maybe some need to read the mission statement again.
Say is your workers getting trained out on the lines or just shoved into it? Is there a follow up a few weeks later? Is there a follow up a few months later? Are any of you giving a damn enough to ask your employees for feed back? So what you have to filter through bs sometimes there could very well be a wealth of knowlege out there that could improve us all.

hmmmmm, why are you so defensive? The person "termed" have quite a few beefs that from all appearance seems legit. Are you drinking and reading these post and then posting your little tiraed to make your self feel better. Or are you in most probably the supervisor that is letting all these things go on because you are too busy visiting other supers in the breakroom. And why would any plant want their workers pulling double or longer shifts. That's just stupid. Osha has already got plenty of documentation out there about how people make more mistakes the longer they work past a normal shift.
And where is the union shop steward that is not reporting unsafe practices? The workers health and the product is at risk. Is that what is really going on. Why would a transportation tom give a rats ass about anybody in production anyway or is that it? You should be a big union person, drivers don't drive without teamsters. hmmmmmmm |

Comment: I was just terminated after almost six years at wonderbear over less than 60 seconds.
Iwas supposed to be at work at 1pm and since i had just changed departments forgot to punch in on the new clock, when i realized i forgot i punched in.The clock read 103pm.103 is the cut-off for tardiness.so i was deemed tardy and termed. The funny part was that my only witness(the person i relieve )was a foremans wife i had filed a major complaint against prior-and she provided false statements saying i wasnt there. Its kind of strange too, because i was the secretary for my local, and one hour after i was escorted out,our local chairperson became a foreman-that would later become the same person whom i was stuck with represnting me for the union to save my job.Is that fair or what?talk about not playing fair--so i am here to spill my guts...
1st off my production manager has had sex with an employee in the plant and been caught
2nd-when mixer refrigeration goes down they ship in ice and transfer it into the building to the mixers in the same dirty dumpsters they put the pig feed in,and or regular trash--very sanitary dont you think
3rd-employees are made to work18-19-or20 hour shifts at times with no reguard to safety, and no option to leave
4th-i have watched foreman accidently drop 700-800 lbs of dough on the floor, scrape it up,run it through and send it out.
5th-i as an operator had been forced to run dough with plastic pieces in it whether it be from trough wheels or pump seals,scrapers,etc.. and send it out
and last but most definatly not least no one wears gloves when handling product, unless inspectors are there for the day,the ingredients are never covered, unless inspectors are there for the day,and many other things, basically they make you lie...i never let my family eat wonderbread while i worked there and definately not now,its pretty sickening if you actually think about everything i have just said i have watched people pass out from poor ventilation, and bad working conditions only to get charged with an abscence afterwards even if they had already been there12-13 hours.I submit that everything i have said is truthful and i am signing my name to this because i aint scared of the wonder and i know what i am saying is the truth.........does this sound like good production standards or a great place to work to you?I just cant beleive i wasted the last six years there. But i am thankful i am gone life is a lot better now--good-bye wonder you'll be hearing from me soon......ps-i hired a lawyer. from March '03

Comment: Your right, Bartman was the best thing that happened to the Pomona bakery, Mike Williams is doing his best but does not hold a candle to Bart, You guys at Glendale are lucky. Maybe we I should transfer to Glendale so i can be treated like a human being. |

Comment: Finally got some good people in Bartman, Ray Nicholas, and Markie Mark, now will you take Eller out of the picture and let them work their magic. We have people that care and can work as a team and actually make a difference. In just two weeks Glendale is a different bakery, Thankyou Bart for caring |

Comment: Hey Tony,
What else do you want, 1st. you take away our 401 contribution, then you increase our medical benifits, freeze any pay increases, now you effect our vacation time. Let's see. who would want to work in management. I bet you got paid everything you were paid. How many good employees have to quit before you pull your head out of your ass and relize that G.O. is the problem, Jeff Jernnigan was a good employee but because he tired being shit on by upper management he went on to a better place just like everyone else. |
