Comment:
If Alvarez is moving too fast for you in this BK moment, then just think about an earlier time in your life when time stood still. A time when sunlight lasted forever and you could play all day long real hard without tiring!
Try not to think about Alvarez, his hired guns and his many other hired and paid for professionals who are busy undermining your general welfare and withholding vital and life-saving news and other work-related information from you purposefully.
Try to overlook the fact certain fellow employees of yours are busy receiving large amounts of additional monies because they were tapped on the shoulder by Alvarez to be absolutely vital employees necessary to keep IBC running on a day to day basis and to not leave their employment before receiving his blessing.
Try to perform your work each day to the best of your ability and forget that you are most likely an employee-at-will whereby those blessed employees noted above are most likely performing their work under a written contract of employment with an added guarantee for prompt payment.
If you are a union mis-represented employee try to forget that the written contract you are employed under does not have your name or signature on it and IBC filing BK turned it into a worthless piece of paper and when your employment ends so goes your retirement and health funds too, in most cases.
And when you retire to rest your weary head, don't forget to thank your government for all those thing in your life that they still allow you to have and to hold provided you continue to pay dearly for them. Sleep tight! |

Comment: Boy does it suck in Sacramento. Shipping/Transportation is very unorganized and it's all because a certain someone was terminated last month. Bad move IBC, double standards will get you no where. I've never seen so many people scramble for answers in my entire career. I know I miss that guy and so do many other people within the organization. The ship is cracking at the hull, time to bail out people. To the one that got the cheap deal, hang in there buddy, someone will be damn glad to scoop you up. You are sorely missed in Sacramento. I think I'll head back to the Bay now. |

Where can I purchase the Hostess Low Fat Chocolate Cupckaes in my area (Asheville, NC)? My whole family LOVES them! We have not been able to find them for several months. We tried the "regular" Hostess Chocolate Cupcakes and felt that they just do not taste as good. They are dry and not very chocolately tasting.
I used to be able to find the "low fat" cupcakes only at the Merita Thrift Store, but they have stopped carrying them.
Please advise! |

The sale date on this package is April 1st. As today is only March 30th I was suprised to find that the package has stared to mold.I still have the packaging if you would like any further information from the wrapper. Never have I had something mold so quickly. |

The first news reports indicating IBC has successfully sold-off their first wave of branded-goods (like Hostess) to a competitor (like Flowers) will be a sure sign that IBC is starting to snap, crackle and pop open to go belly-up in the market place.
This event will start the ball rolling on other branded IBC lines being sold off to their highest bidders.
When the majority of these lines are sold, then IBC will start to liquidate all their remaining assets in preparation of closing their doors for good. |

What IBC needs most is to get their corporate heads out of each others ass and get their standard size chocolate donuts on the shelves of my grocery store in California right now! Before I experience a chocolate driven fit and drive all the way to Kansas City and kick all their butts up around their shoulders!
Christ, don't these stupid-ass people know what products they produce will sell in California.
Don't make me go postal IBC! I can see the news headlines now. Customer driven by a chocolate deprived fit in California goes postal on an Hostess Route Driver for not having large chocolate donuts on their truck. |

Rock bottom for IBC stock means that for the last several days their stock has not moved off the dime!

Merita Bread,
For the last three weeks, I've bought Merita bread as I have for years. Every loaf is stale when I get home no matter where I buy it or how "fresh" it seems in the store. At $2.29 a loaf now, that's a bit expensive. Can you explain why that is? The stale bread, not the price. |

Comment:
WARN 60 Day Notices will be the best form of a pending lay-off or plant closing for all employees.
Employers are required by state and federal laws to post these WARN Notices and to notify all affected employees, labor unions, state and federal politicians and their offices.
Where they fail to notice properly, they will have to pay impacted employees the equivilant of 60 days pay with inclusive overtime in lost wages and benefits!
With an employer the size of IBC and spread throughout several states in these United States, it could be a big hit to take for state and federal government support systems dealing with unemployment, disability, work-related injuries and welfare, should IBC seek to walk out from their many employer responsibilites using the BK doors to exit and disappear forever. |

Does anyone know where I can find the Dolly Madison product called a Banana Dream Cake? I have tried contacting the company via phone several times with no one able to help me or give me any direction. I would really like to find this product for a friend of mine.

I am writing because I was recently in Florida and had the Merita Lite wheat hamburger buns. They were great. I am from Michigan. Is there anywhere up here that sells these or can I order them online? I would like to freeze some or be able to get them in the area. They are only 1 point on the weight watchers program and taste great.
Let me know if there is any way I can get these. |

To whom it may concern:
I am interested in carrying Drakes cakes for the state of California.. I am a relocated NYer and believe that their products would do well here. I have not found them in any stores. Perhaps a franchise situation could be work out. Anyone have any ideas? |

Comment: Hey my boys-I am full of Easter Cheer and just want to give you some of it before I stuff myself with ham. At church this morning they told us to love our neighbors, so I love you all.....except probably Francis, but then he has his mama. Boys, my measurements were right on, no exxageration. I'm one busty bunny......and if you were all here I'd give you a bunny hug. But for now-consider yourself cuddled up to this bunny's dumplings and have a beautiful Easter. I love you all!!!!!!!! |

Holidays! Oh yea! What a great time we had when we were all in school and these days came along. Students and Teachers alike, got the day off and they also enjoyed a 3-day weekend too!
It was quite a shock when we left school and went to work and found out there that these days, for the most part, were long gone!
The only one's that were going to see these days again would be those who worked in an occupation where their employer was closed down for the day.
It was an even greater shock for me because for a good many years after college, I worked in the banking industry where just a mere mention of a state or federal holiday was enough for us to close our doors.
It was years later, that I found out all employee's are not treated equally in these respects. Some are off, but not paid.
Then I found out that if you are going to be off, paid or unpaid, when you return, you have to do two days work in one days time!
What it all boiled down to for me and my family, was job security, paid days and additional overtime. I could not take off work for the most part, because the type of business I worked for baked goods for use during the holidays.
Then I remembered the story of the man who could not walk because he had no feet. And, here I am complaining about something in my life that is so trivial. Happy Easter! |

For the most part, one can assume IBC has been ordered into lockdown when it come to broadcasting newsworthy corporate events to the general public and their workforce.
Whatever plans they have in mind, neither of us will see nor hear about until after the fact, provided they are able to maintain secrecy.
IBC is now playing a game of BK chess and you and I and everything else IBC owns has been reduced to game pieces, which they now move about at will, subject only to the BK judges' approval.
What their workforce can do to predict their future IBC fate is to watch IBC closely and to report promptly all significant sightings and events in their workplaces.
By compiling this information, we should form a general idea what is going to take place and about when and where.. |

Maybe someone here can explain to me how IBC can cut routes in Southern California without cutting their own throats in the process?
I understand consolidation of stops and runs and adding additional stops but in SoCal business is booming. This would mean their route trucks are not large enough to carry each days load.
And, there is not enought time left to do two or more runs each day.
Then, don't forget the problems the promotional and/or the holiday monsters bring with them.
Most of their major stops want incoming deliveries in by 1100 hrs. |

Comment: It is so SAD that the employees have to work on such a holy day or any holiday. You will not see one of the corporate good old boys working on any holiday. No one is standing and waiting in line to purchase IBCs so called fresh cake or bread products. There is no valid reason for employees to work holidays anymore. Management does nothing for the employees out of kindness. That is why many people are not dedicated to the company anymore and only do the minimal amount of work needed to sustain their job. This is why the company is and will fail. |

The word on the street continues to point to IBC filing BK to kill off their burgeoning level of debt, all major creditors, most employees, all labor unions, unwanted significant others and to vaporize their remains into earth's atmosphere leaving nothing behind.
This all-inclusive list would also contain unemployment insurance benefits, employee health, welfare and retirement accounts (present and outstanding), and their long list of injured workers claims.
Corporate BK is the ultimate office shredder needed to enable them to hide their past sins, put remaining amounts of assets and cash into their pockets and then leave the mess for you and I to cleanup and to pay their closing bills with our collective human-based suffering. |

Comment: My god what a bunch of whiners you people are.
For those of you complaining about products, i think we can all agree IBC product now suck, now stop being so lazy thinking you can buy a fresh product from them and get in the kitchen and bake your own cakes.
For you employees that are complaining, for one, you guys get paid too much money to whine, a third of you are old enough to be on social security and lazy as zips ass, try getting the amount of money you make at ibc while your on social secruity, another third of you can't even speak the language and dont even know what your doing, try going to school to learn our language before you apply for jobs here, or better yet try making the amount of money you make at ibc in your own countries, im guessing what you make in one week at ibc you cant make in a lifetime in your own country, and the last one third of you are just plain lazy and just dont want to work, but hey why work when the company is willing to pay you to play cards in the canteen, works for me..
and that one percent thats left over needs to start working and stop screwing the supervisors that are married. amen |

BEWARE CONSUMERS:
Save Your Money And Stop Buying IBC Products!!!!
Unhappy Employees = Poor Products
IMO, the company and their employees only want your money, they do not care if you are unhappy with your purchase.
Therefore, posting on this site with your complaints will not help you.
Unless, you only want to complain about your problem instead of having your problem fixed, then by all means post away.

I would like to mention something to you, we bought 2 boxes of devil dogs and they are hard and dried out. We previously threw out 2 other boxes with the same problem because we did not want to complain. Now I have to throw away 2 more boxes because of the same problem. What seems to be the problem at your end, if any? They are all hard, dried out, discolored; they taste old and they are not according to the date. I?ve been eating these for years, I know at one time you changed your recipe, and then switched back again.
I just want to be able to buy more with the confidence of knowing that the quality of freshness is there. My kids wont eat them either. What can we do? |

To Whom It May Concern:
Last night for the second time in less than a month I bought a package of Hostess Snowballs that were inedible! I paid no attention when buying them but when i got ready to eat one for dessert that evening it was so dry that I could not eat it. I then notice that they were 2 days past the last sale date.
This evening I bougt another package. Because of my previous experience I looked at the date befroe I bought them and the last sale date was April 12. When I got ready to eat one for dessert, again the cake protion was so dry it was inedible and disgusting.
I happen to like Hostess Snowballs and many other Hostess products but when it costs a dollar for a package of two cakes and they have to be thrown out because they are not edible it is a little ridiculous. I have bought your product less and less because of the increased cost and you can get similar cream filled sponge cakes for a lot less. I have not found a less expesnsive version of the snowballs but I don't know how i can trust your product after these past two experiences. |

This site is the best thing going for IBC employees and consumers of their baked goods.
When it tends to get out of hand by posts that show themselves to be overfilled with human emotions, the webmaster steps in and we all get a fresh start. No one is left behind and only those who are too depressed to carry on are provided needed rest and relaxation without increased pressure. Life is too short for anything less! |

Comment: If y0u have a problem what ever it is with any I.B.C. complaining on this site will do you no good at all. If you want to return the product take back where you bought it. atach a note to it explaining your problem. The store will with no questions asked refund your money or replace the product. Any problem with any product willl them be resolved by the route manor area company rep. IBC stands behind all of its products If you purchased something in a vending machine there is probably a phone number on the machine that you can call and report the problem and the maching owner will take care of it some how. Again sorry but you will get nowhere posting your problem here. I am just an employee of this company but it concerns me that you were not satisfied. Hope this helps |

Perhaps this is an omen for the religious folk amoung us, if Christ can resurrect then maybe IBC can as well! As far as the North East and Biddeford are concerned I dare not believe that a miracle is at hand. Tomorrow is Good Friday but all hell will break loose for us on Monday. |

That's nice! IBC is now paying millions of dollars to professionals! Maybe this could be their problem. Not the millions but the fact that they did not have professionals to begin with!
Gotta love America! It remains the one place on earth, stupid people can make millons of dollars for just breathing!
For those that continue to believe in the Easter Bunny, please tell me how bunnies lay eggs and why are they not able to locate these eggs themselves? Could the Easter Bunny be in line as IBCs' next CEO? |

Well, IBC just filed more legal mumbo jumbo papers with the BK court and the SEC telling us they are spending $8 million more each month than their books can carry and they had to go off shore to get it from lenders who have more money than brains.
Judging from IBC signatures on these papers, the person IBC needs to throw overboard ASAP is named Hutchenson or something! His signature is what's killing IBC. This guy is either IBCs' biggest asshole or the dumbest corporate person on earth!
IBC had to borrow even larger amounts of money than before and they now have more lenders than employees! |

Too many people posting here apparently still don't understand completely what is happening with IBC and their having filed for Chapter 11.
It's very basic stuff! IBC reached a point where they had more bills to pay than money in the bank or their pockets. They were forced to file in order to ward off legal actions which could have shut them down overnight.
Top IBC officers are their highest paid employees and knew first hand that their individual paychecks would halt and their creditors, spouse, children and the family pet would start to hound and eventually leave them too, so in order to keep their money rolling in they ordered IBC to file.
Now everybody (IBC) on board, is hanging on desperately hoping their job will not drown them. |

Comment: i say get rid of the union and maybe the workers will actually work , if they know that there is a chance that they can get fired for not working and sitting in the cafeteria or just plain being lazy then maybe ibc can actually find some good workers.
Couple that with firing some management that have no clue what they are managing ibc might end up with a good company.. ha.
Oh you might want to start making fresh bread too, that might help... |

Comment: MCM you must be kidding, you think the union and ibc treat the workers shitty?Come on, are you whacked or what.
Where else can you watch donuts and bread fall into a bag by itself and get paid almost 16 bucks and hour, and where else can you sit in the cafeteria for hours on end playing cards and if a supervisor says anything to you the person cries that your picking on them and the supervisor is the one that gets in trouble, and where else can you yell FMLA so that you can go to a party with your wife.
i'll tell ya, IBC.
They are the worst run business i have ever seen in my life, the reason the business is going downhill is because ibc is run by a bunch of idiots and they are hiring a bunch of idiots that have no clue what the meaning of work is because they have a union backing them that has no clue what the meaning of work is.
Think about it, IBC is paying out 40 millon in bonuses to people who are running the business into the ground, call me crazy but if i were a multimillion dollar company owner i wouldnt want the same people running my company that just put me into bankruptcy, hey but thats just me thinking out loud.

I recently purchased Hostess Frosted Donettes (chocolate) from a local store and found a fingernail in the donut. This is absolutley gross and plan on telling every single person I know. I paid $2.99 for this product and would like my money back!!! I ended up puking after I ate the donut and pulled out the fingernail. I left my job for the rest of the day...about 3 hours since I was feeling sick to my stomach and was repulsed!

Yet again, I've thrown away a half loaf of bread due to mold.
Why can't you make a half loaf of a bread so those of us who do not use bread as often as others, can have fresh bread ? Seems simple enough to me. After all, we have sent men to the moon. I can't believe I'm the only person who does not use a full loaf of bread quickly.
And I have tried taking half the loaf and putting it in another bag, but somehow it never tastes fresh.

Customer Service,
I recently purchased a 24 count box of Hostess Twinkies at the Sam's Club in Louisville Ky. Store number (502) 964-1634.
After the purchase, my son opened the box of them, they were discolored and appeared old. I looked for the expiration date; it reads SELL BY APR 04. I guess its my fault that I box a box of Twinkies that are well over 1year old, and yes I should of checked the date prior to my purchase. I live 106 mile from the Sam's so driving back up to Sam's is out of the question.
Need to know if you have a distributor check your shelves?
Last sell date being over 1 year ago, does this mean they are good for a 1 year plus its shelf life? Id like some answers to the above questions. |

My motel has been getting delivery of the hostess danish for approximately 7 years with no problems. Currently, under the change of svenhard's we have recently been having problems with delivery. According to IBC we have to have a set amount of delivery. In the past this was not an issue. We were very satisfied customer and would like continue if possible. Our preference is based on motel needs and customers to order 5 to 10 boxes. We were told to order 20 boxes or more this is unreasonable for us since the product gets bad which we would not serve to our customers. I will lok for another company to help us. |

Comment: A national union contract will never happen. Why?
1.keeping contracts local helps the locals keep track of there own pension and health and welfare funds which means they have more access to our money and thus makes it easier for the union to misuse the money with little oversight.
2.A national contract would mean more leverage for the employee and less for the company, the company dosent want this and as long as our union's are working for the companies best interests and not ours it wont happen.
3.The company can get away with paying some people less money for doing the same job in a different city.
bottom line is the only one who would benefit from a national contract is the employee and we all know the company and the unions dont care about us. |

Let me chime in for a few short sentences.
1. This site was started by someone who previous worked for IBC but no longer is employed by this company.
2. The site remains up because current employees who were co-workers of the above employee requested that they have a forum to let the public know about IBC.
3. The editing of the comments are done by several employees who maintain this site. Anything can be submitted of course but they feel that other sites are available to express oneself using profanity or vulgar language.
4. Post what you want, if you want your comment to stay on the site, clean up your language and show respect to others.
I have had many requests to turn over this site and if you look at the "Letters from IBC", link, you will see that I have also fought off court actions.
ALL I ask is to keep it clean. |

I purchased a packaged of Hostess Donettes this morning (3/23) with an outdate on the package of 3/29. I just wanted to let you know that they were hard and unedible. I've never experienced this problem before, so wanted to let you know there may have been a problem with this batch of product. |

I recently bought a bag of your powered gem donuts. And as my family finished the donuts, I just so happened to look in the bottom of the bag and saw a sugarcoated worm in it. It's a disgrace that this happened because I will never buy anything from your company again.
I still have the bag with the worm in it. I will be mailing it to the address that's on the bag |

To Whom it may Concern:
I bought a box of Hostess Twinkies Code # 045000003163, and I was very disappointed in them. They were very soggy (even thought they were in individual wrappers). I had to throw them out. I hope this was just an one time fluke as we have been buying them for years.

I've purchased your 100% whole wheat bread for many years and for the past few months every loaf I bought has had a huge hole running through the middle of it. I love your bread and I wouldn't want to stop severing it to my family, but the holes often case me to throw away a 1/4 to 1/2 of a loaf. The holes range in size from 1 inch round to 5 1/2 inches round......making it extremely hard to keep jelly, peanut butter, mustard, etc., from spilling out.
Is there anything you can possibly do about this situation?? |

Mr .Alvarez,
Please be very careful who you trust. I hope that you have your own people in place by now. When the old IBC management speaks to you, you cannot rely on what they tell you. They will feed you what they need to,so that their own short term interests are protected. They will protect only themselves and their cronies(those that can benefit them in some way). They will always focus on the short term, the long term problems will be put on the back burner if not ignored completely. Management that puts self preservation and enrichment ahead of the company goals. Management that will sacrifice the long term effects for short term gain every time. This is the management philosophy that drove this company into the ground, and it continues to be the way this company is run today. Mr. Alvarez, we all hope that you can provide strong proffessional leadership for an operation that desperately needs it. Is it possible to run a large company with ethics and proffessionalism? Please show us that you can! |

Big Deb is doing the job she was hired to do for her employer and she needs her job just as much as you need yours.
If you feel she is doing anything more or less, then send your complaint to Kansas City HR.
The job she was hired to do was to protect her employer at all times and for all reasons and if she needs to kill you in order to do these things, consider yourself dead!
If you just plainly do not like her or you want her job, then just say it!
Just remember, what goes around in life has a habit of coming back around to this same elite group of subjects and critics alike. You can run but you cannot hide forever! |

Comment: IBC does pay the lowest in Henderson, we know from Payroll and from what the employees that have visited here indicated. Thats not fair but why it happened is anyone's guess. Just get a copy of the contract and you can see, but what can the employees do now? I feel sorry for them. They don't get pension either, why would IBC do that to employees that they value? Guess the quality of the product produced there is very well known to be not even good enough to feed to the birds. |

Why does the guy in Henderson weigh 400 pounds? Two plausable reasons could be that he is 9 feet tall or that he eats way too much for his actual height.
Why is Henderson, IBC's lowest paid workforce? Two plausable reasons could be they were either voted in or they were sold out! |

IBC in Henderson, Nevada needs to dumb-down this workforce three steps more, ASAP. One of them was still smart enough to find their way to this site and posted a comment which threatens to challenge IBC's and their closely held cast of several labor unions mutual plans to enslave all forms of labor in America.
IBC needs to find out who it was and shoot them on the spot before they infect the other idiots with thoughts of buying their own homes or having a savings account and a toilet they can actually flush! IBC needs to tell those unions to get busy too. IBC agreed to have unions in their workplace to keep down employee riots and to see they do not step out of line ever! |

Comment:
When people speak truthfully, they tend to find more truth in their own lives. The problems of speaking the truth at all times in today's world are made more difficult for those that do than for those that don't.
And it's the same way for those law abiding individuals who drive on today's freeways. Look around you the next time you find yourself on a freeway to see how many other drivers are going over the posted speed limits, cutting in and out of traffic needlessly , and cutting over to get off at the last second!
We have given over several entire cities of our fellow citizens and their off-springs in America to crime and poverty because to do so was easier than not to.
The difficult roads in our lives really are the least traveled!
So when we speak about fairness in our lives and what we have come to expect of others, let us first look to ourselves and ask what we offer up to all living creatures on planet earth to enjoy together. |

Comment: This goes to the person who posted anon.I.B.C.is far from perfect, but they were doing fine before they purchased Wonder/Hostess. I worked in a location with Wonder and Dolly, you would be surprised which routes worked longer hours. Dolly did and ran much higher rt. avg. I.B. C. underestimated how BIG a effect the union would have on being able to consolidate the company. Wonder has lived off their white bread line for years, even before I.B.C. bought them .This is the 21st century and change happens everyday. Wonder did not change regardless of who owned them. When the contract is up we will all be through. When the contract is up we will all be through. When Flowers takes over, you will see changes. |

Comment: Here's the problem in a nut shell and nobody wants to face up to it. Most of the good, hardworking, dedicated driver/ salesman have retired and all you have is lazy (how fast can I run the route, no back callings guys) on the routes now. Yes, there are a few really good drivers at the 05 plant, older guys still hanging on, but for the most part, the younger guys don't like the hours, don't like the work, but they want the big paychecks, the benefits, that go with the job.
The union is not like they used to be. Companies today, have them in their hip-ass pocket. I'm a Union man, been one all my life, come from a long line of Union men in my family, but gone are the days when a company feared the Union. Just like now, the company has the upper hand. You want a job, you give back what we before you worked so hard to obtain. Health & Welfare, good pay, good retirement and on and on. With the company in BK and contracts expiring all over this year, Good Luck if you keep your health insurance "free" ! Ain't gonna happen.
To all you old guys still hangin on.. A tip of my hat to you for staying with a company that no longer cares where you end up. To you young guys that are always in a hurry, and yes, I see you in the stores, you don't ask me to try your product, you don't even see me standing there looking for a particular line of bread , I don't see the displays that sell product. What I see is 3-4 color codes on the self, nothing rotated, a rack that looks like it was serviced two days ago. Worse of all, I see a guy that has on dirty clothes, shoes not shined, shirts that have more wrinkles than my grandmother. and hair so long, I have to see the front of you to tell if you are male or female. Talk to the old guys and listen to them and let them tell you what it takes to be a breadman. |

Comment: Interesting note in the latest Teamster magazine. 12,000 teamsters at IBC. At some point IBC(in some form) will return to the negotiating table. With so many expired and extended cotracts, would it not give us tremendous leverage at that time to negotiate a national contract along the lines of UPS? What would be the reason to keep negotiating local contracts? |

Comment: ibc is the problem. Wonder was too big for them to manage. Next solution is to have everyone do their jobs and be held accountable! Too many times upper management sits it their offices while their branch managers have to run around with their tails between their legs because they can't do their jobs, they are too busy doing their bosses jobs, and running salemen's routes because they do not have enough people. Do they get paid extra, or a part of the commission for the route they had to run, nope. How long has it been since branch mgrs and supervisors got a raise? It is so sad that route salemen make more than branch mgrs. IBC needs to get the top dog and assign responsibility to all and hold these people accountable, when someone has do do over and above their jobs they should get compensated for their work. Why hasn't the problem with the bakeries been handled yet? Bread is either late or shorted. The bakery does not get in trouble it is the branches new problem to fix. Why is butternut and wonder operating under two different pay plans, pensions, 401k, etc. when they are all expected to be a team? Get things in order and get organized, simple solution. Assign, deligate, and hold responsible. Pay people what they are worth with some kind of compensation. |

Wow! It took IBC all day but their shares rose 4 cents and are now listed at a whopping $5.29 a share. It don't look good, folks! Snail stocks move faster that this! How much longer can IBC expect to last at this pace? They should be sued for cruel and unusual punishment by their stock holders, employees and creditors! Someone give them a loaded gun and suggest suicide is the best path to follow at this point in time. Have mercy on the living! |

For your information, IBC is not in the office today and they are not expected to return to work prior to September, 2006.
They are presently on an extended medical leave following their surgery plans of filing for bankruptcy on September 22, 2004.
For those wishing to send your get-well-soon cards, you may continue to addresss them to IBC's corporate offices in Kansas City c/o Mr. Alvarez @ Bankruptcies Are Us! |

What IBC needs is someone at their helm who knows what to do and how to make it happen, not later but now, right this very minute.
Do they have such a person? I doubt it. Even if they did, this person would have to be either at the corporate level now or IBC would have to have a process in place which would allow such a person to naturally surface by examples of proven workplace abilities and qualities of leadership in order to take over and take care of business!
However, IBC has set its' sails to take them into bankruptcy and brought in a captain from outside named Alvarez, to get them there on time!
This beginning of this trip took place on September 21, 2004. It should take about two years to complete this journey of transformation.
They are left to face down any number of their natural enemies in life and too many of these are seeking to take advantage of their situation in order to gain market share and dominance in the baking industry.
What they need in not a Captain of Bankruptcy but a Captain of American Industry to step in and lead them on a path to a quick and absolute corporate victory! |

I bought some Powered Gem Donuts. And as my family finished the bag, guess what I found? I really don't know myself. It looks like a sugarcoated worm. So you better believe I will be sending this worm or whatever it is back to the company with a letter asking for an explaination on how it wound up in the bag. That is so disgusting. They just lost one long term customer and probably more after I spread the word. |

The only time I feel like a real man is when I put on my high heels and red wig and my boyfriend rails me from behind. I love it when he shares me with the dog, I feel sooo excited when I get donkey punched. Im scared I will lose my job and will no longer be able to afford nylons and fish net stockings. Thats why I lash out on biddefords workers. I know im a sad excuse for a humen being, but I was born with no balls so its not my fault

Hello, I a long time ago, had great memories of Hostess treats.
That has been now shown to me to be a thing of the past.
I remember your cupcakes, with the soft frosting thick and good tasting moist cake and it would melt in your mouth.
I picked up some this week, and was sadly made to realize you just are not the same.
The frosting is nasty, so hard and thin it crumbles off the dry round cake thing with vary little filling in it.
I guess it is a sign of the times.
So, I will make my own, no biggie I work for myself I got the time.
But what made me write you was when I went to the store to get some choc. pudding filled pies.
What happened?
I was told you discontinued them?
Why would you do such a thing? they were the only pie I liked, as your lemon is well dried up inside, the apple just is not as it was and I don't eat fruit pies.
Is Hostess going the way of most things in this country and thinking of only the all mighty buck?
Do your customers need to just fade away with the memories of how you where?
I just needed to let you know why a long time customer is walking away from you, it just seems your company doesn't care about old time quality, and the standards you once set.
Oh, well just a small voice outside the milti million company.
Have fun, now I am off to bake, don't have time but I will make it for something I enjoy as to the things I eat. |

Hello,
I always purchase Home Pride Potato bread. I Used to never had any troubles with it, but here lately I have to waste half the loaf because of huge brown chunks in the bread and sometimes mold. I am very upset about this because bread costs alot and I am a single mother and do not have money to waste. I just wonder what has happened to the quality of your Home Pride bread because lately it is nothing to be proud of. |

I recently bought a Hostess Apple Fruit Pie at a local convenience store that was all but empty except for a small squirt of filling. I took two bites and threw the empty pocket in the trash. As I was very disappointed, I began to question whether your quality assurance department is slipping or you are making more profit using less filling. Please give me a reason why I should buy your products in the future. |

To whom it may concern,
We have bought and enjoyed the JJ Nissen Canadian White Bread for many years. It seems that in the past few months, the product freshness has deteriorated. We used to buy a loaf and have it be super-fresh and it would stay fresh for the better part of a week. Now, when we buy a loaf, fresh off the vendors display, it's is NOT fresh--as a matter of fact it seems to be the consistency of week old bread. We are very disappointed in the consistently, poor quality. Have they changed the recipe for the "used to be great" bread? I've just about given up on buying their product as we love fresh bread and not old dry bread. What happened? |

Maybe you would know of some of their venders in the Oshkosh Wisconsin areas that may be willing to give up udated product also. Thanks for your time and hope to see a response. |

Greetings:
I wanted to comment on our disappointment with Merita "Butter Bread," which we recently purchased for the first time.
My wife and I both noticed immediately that the bread's primary flavor was salt. We have never before noticed such a high salt content in any bread product. After using six slices, we tossed out the remainder of the loaf.
Thus, this is a request to significantly reduce the amount of sodium in this product in the future. |

I was going to write and ask a question about quality control concerning Butternut Bread but after reading this message board it is apparent there is a much bigger problem.
This was my concern. Over the past 4 or 5 years of purchasing Butternut (white) Bread I have noticed that the consistancy of this product can very greatly from week to week. The bread can seem very dense and not very soft around the entire inside of the bread next to the crust. Even when I know the bread has been freshly delivered that day, it won't have a soft interior at times. Sometimes it just doesn't seem fresh - that's the only way I can explain it.
In the past months, I have also noticed that the bread has a longer date code than I remember in the past and wondered why this was ??
Please don't tell me that the weather is a big factor in baking bread because I know it is, but other brands of bread have somehow overcome this problem.
The taste. A few years ago, I quit buying Butternut Bread because the taste of the product was very different than normal. At that time I assumed you had changed the recipe. At present that doesn't seem to be a problem but wanted you to know that it was a noticable change in taste.
Leave the formula alone - it taste good the way it is !!
Now I live in far northeastern IL and sometimes drive over the state line into Wisconsin to shop at Woodman's. Can you tell me if a different bakery is baking the bread in Wisconsin than in Illinois because there can be a difference in consistancy as to where I buy Butternut Bread too ??
If I hadn't been purchasing Butternut (white) Bread for the past 40 years you probably would not be hearing from me. I like this product and hope that it can become the product it was in the past.
In all fairness I purchased one loaf at Dominic's in Gurnee, IL last week and another loaf at the Jewel in Gurnee, IL this week and both were very good. Please keep up the good work !! |

IRWIN...........sounds to me like your a very jealous person. Just because Doopie, myself & "D" seem to hit it off, you apparently have no one on your side. Your replies to us are extremely pathetic. I can't possibly believe that the fine union employees in Davenport are anything like you. For me to trash you here on this board is a waste of time. I'll let Doopie take care of that, although I must admit some of his jokes are a bit DATED!!!!! Nevertheless, why don't you spend a little more time on your replies, and make more sense in in replying to us other than the vulgar, juvinile crap that you reply with. Why don't you give us an update on the Davenport plant instead?? |

It must be one of those trick questions below when it comes to what management position IBC corporate respects most?
Hell, even if you only worked here two days, you would know the answer to this question!
IBC's most respected management position is that of the good old barking doggy position!
And Bend over Bubba, is their favorate corporate song heard most often in their payroll department.
I also heard IBC is going one step farther for their employees and now issue their payroll checks with a scratch and smell feature of their most favorite past time too!
Scratching one's ass, while working! |

Alvarez and his band of thieves don't like working for a living. They choose to rob from today's corporation's, their investors, creditors and their workforces only to give it all up to themselves and their business cronies.
When they do come around to your location, they will have their hands out with their palms up, singing bankruptcy blues.
They are there solely to jack you up and themselves off. They act more like used car salespeople; they are not capable of telling the truth!
What you and I need to hang onto is the truth about IBC as they are now and these Alvarez jerks attempting to sell us their latest line of bankrupt bullshit!
IBC, Alvarez and his merry band of suck asses are busy trying to suck every last IBC dime out of IBC and every remaining drop of blood and common sense out of you and I.
Stay strong and pretend you are as dumb as they believe. Then just watch how these corporate monkeys act it up in your workplace!
The Darwinism theory tells us Alvarez and his groupies missed the bus when it comes to being and acting human. |

Thou doth protest too much. If you are indeed in the "respected" management position as you claim then it will be easy to pick you out. So very few are respected for their actions speak louder than words. I would love to believe you as it would give me great hope but alas, Santa and the Easter bunny are as real as Biddeford and the IBC North East being around next year at this time.
BTW, I am one of the few hourly employees that show up, do as I am asked, and withold my opinion within the bakery. There is enoygh neagtivity there as it is. |

Provided, how long you live determines how many times you could hear the same stories about life on earth repeated once more.
Another way of expressing this thought is: What goes around, comes around again!
What information this expression fails to provide to its readers is that you and I may not have been living the first time it came around!
Therefore, having not been living the first time, one can assume if it happens again, you or I most surely would not hear this subsequent one either!
So for the benefit of those both living and reading this article today, please take heed of the following information:
IBC is currently in Bankruptcy! This means their corporate body is sick and effective September 21, 2004, it was legally removed from its' corporate space and placed into the intensive care unit of our federal bankruptcy courts. They are now being cared for, treated and overseen by a select team of learned individuals.
Depending on how well these learned individuals do their jobs and how sick the corporate body was when it arrived will determine if the subject will continue to live on or just die! |

One more thing, if you please! The only thing you and I are going to see in print from Alvarez is going to be our last and final check! And, he is not going to give it up because he wants to but because our laws tell him to or he could go directly to jail!
Alvarez and his BK specialized staff are not busy breaking new ground at IBC headquarters in Kansas City to accomodate their several life-size statues. They are busy finding IBC's bank accounts so they can empty them all before riding off to their next free-meal, where Alvarez and his band of thieves bring a new meaning to dining-out-on-corporate-leftovers type of businesses which you and I eventually have to pay for in a lot more than just hard earned cash! |

Mr. kronos from the (I assume) Biddeford plant. I am not in the loop, I am in a respected management position, and I am very knowledgable about the northeasts situation. First of all, you sound like a very disgruntled employee who is employed at the Biddeford bakery. So, no matter what I post here, I'm sure you will have a two cent remark. Anyway, FOR THE LAST TIME, BIDDEFORD IS NOT CLOSING!!!!! That is, unless whiners like you want it to!!!!!!!! This will be my last post on this board. All of you can take heed in what I have posted, or disregard it completely, and go on BELIEVING "RUMORS"!!!!!!!!!!! |

Well, judging from today's posts' we can all put our job-related worries to rest. A fellow employee in management weighed in to tell us s/he was aware IBC has hired top notch management in the past and indicated their present location of work.
Well, when are they going to start working?
Oh yes! Well then, just having good employees on board this sinking ship just really comes to mean "Nothing really" then, does it?
Hitler had the same problems and his exposed group of problematic managers subsequently died of lead poisoning quite suddenly.
Constitutional protections for Civil War does not exist in today's Corporate levels of management.
American Corporation's therefore are not born to die at the hands of their workforce! They die because the corporate assholes that govern their fate, kill them! |

Judging from the messages I read on this board, the one thing that really sticks out, is, the SPELLING is atrocious!!!! My God, how many of you even finished high school? You should be very fortunate to have a good paying job with IBC. Also, I agree with many of you, there is absolutely too much whining going on. Although, many of you will criticize me when I tell you that I in management, listen to me! First of all, Biddeford IS NOT CLOSING!! For crying out loud, give it a break. If, Biddeford was closing, then IBC would ultimately have to pull out of the entire New England area. This will not happen!!!! Yes, I agree many changes are needed not only in the Northeast, but also in many plants throughout the country. One of those badly needed changes, is to return to the old days of making a fresh product, and returning to the (7) day code (on bread). Getting back to basics will help tremendously in getting this company back on track. And yes, I know we have some real lazy employees that prefer to sit in break rooms while "other" employees do their jobs for them. This is why we have shipping and production supervisors to ensure that this type of pathetic work habits are ELIMINATED!!!!!! Unfortunately, we also have supervisors that don't measure up to their expectations. Finally, until we see something in print from Mr. Alvarez, then we all should continue to do our jobs to the best of our abilities. Yes, there will be some plant closings, but, that unfortunately goes along with companies that are in BK, and are in the process of restructuring. |

I purchased a Hostess Apple pie today. I haven't bought one
in a long time. I remember these as being a favorite after
school but the one I received from the machine was a great
disappointment. The filling was like fruit roll-ups (no moisture at all) inside a crust. Have these changed this much? They used to be juicy and taste like regular apple pie |

I just wanted to comment to someone about the lack of fruit that was in the
hostess peach pie that I just had for lunch. It seems like over the years
that everything is getting skimpier and your fruit pies are no exception. I
used to love to eat these as a kid and I remember when I bit into one, there
was fruit in every single bite. In the pie I just ate 75%of it was empty
crust with only the outter crimped edge having what must have been the
equivalent of a chopped up piece of a peach wedge. What a disappointment!
It used to be the memory of the last pie that I had that was the motivation
for my purchase of the next pie. I am afraid that this time, my lack of
motivation will be the memory of the lack of fruit in my last pie!
A disappointed consumer who will probably start giving little debbie a
second chance! |

Comment: Biddeford this...Biddeford that..Don't you people get sick of this? Let's look at the facts! Selling JJ Nssen candadian white does not cover the overhead of our facility. What we need is less varieties, less changeover, and longer runs. We need a workforce who does not look at it as "what I can get today"...but one who looks to tommorow.
We have potential..but no execution. I see John J****n name slammed, I see Bud R*****s, and Mike B's name mentioned...That is only 3 out of 5000+ who loose or gain from this mess.
What are you people thinking?
We have a new facility, that can make the "dough"...we just need to cut out the waste and remember we are not a non-profit organization.
look at the staff we have...MB, PS, FM,DW,JT,CB..there is over 100 years of experience...does the other places in the NE have that?
Believe me they don't! Jst be patient and hope and pray for the best. But by all means....quit downing Biddeford.
it is full of fellow good union employees, and the management is top notch.

Comment: Biddeford is closing. Job ads? Ask Buffalo how that goes. All was appearing normal until the 60 day notice went up. Biddeford will be history before the leaves of autum fall and probably sooner than that. Ask the BCTW, they now know what the deal is but do you think BA John Jordan will give it to us straight? The "bonus" is a bribe to keep mouths shut and carry on the parody. Think about it and smell the last wisps of JJ Nissen. Flour being trucked in, Mike B missing more now than when he was the Bread Manager, ineptitude reins rampant. Still wondering if Biddeford will close:>) ? |

Comment: I just called the dsm's office in my area to report a consumer complaint about our products. He was not available to talk , but I asked the thritstore Mgr. about how her day was going ? She responded by saying that long time customers have been complaining about the fresh bread falling apart. I told her that was the reason I was calling. I had to give credit to three different accounts on stale tasting products. These were all items ,I had just put in the stores two days prior. I was so intrigued by this, that I sampled a "fresh" Cherry roll . The cherry filling was bittersweet, just as the consumer complained about. Also, Pies are half filled, which would be o.k. if it tasted good , but they do not. When E.S.L. started,I thought it was a good Idea . They have done something different to all the products. I think Tony Alvarez and his cronies should all sit down and taste test our products at a staff meeting. I think it might just open their eyes.Do you think Touchdown Tony told the Levi employees to leave out a couple of stitches. I should say NOT! Maybe somebody at one of our bakeries can enlighten us all. I would like an explanation. |

My Husband has been with this company for nearly 30 years!!! He has been COMPLETELY DEVOTED and hasn't missed a day of work in the almost 30 years... BELIEVE IT OR/NOT??? Just now, to be facing the companies extreme disrespectful down fall... We have worked loyally for so long, to build a life for ourselfs, just now to be WONDERING??? what exactly is happening to the company we have had so much confidence in??? I've read so many of the other comments on this web page, and sad to say that I'm really discussed on how inmature people are in this world of uncertainty, I'm sure this company doesn't care about people judging each other on their characteristics... and frankly ... WE COULD REALLY CARELESS, instead would LOVE TO KNOW, Whats happening to our company??? Everything is always kept such a big secret and it's really very, very unfair to the middle class working people who CARE... and wants to do a GREAT job... HERE WE ARE, ONCE AGAIN PAYING THE PRICE FOR ALL THE WRONG DO"ER"S IN THIS EVER CHANGING WORLD WE LIVE IN... " GO FIGURE" BEST WISHES TO ALL THE DO GOOD"ERS. AND IBC, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER,IT DOESN"T TAKE ENSTIN TO FIGURE OUT THIS PROBLEM... |

I am completing a case study on IBC. Can anyone help with the internal operations of IBC. Does the company treat the bakery production as a seperate unit than the marketing/distribution. I also assume IBC treats the thrift stores as a seperate business unit. Is this correct.

The question of one staying or leaving IBC is really based upon more than just the meaning of these two words.
The answer to one over the other at a time of bankruptcy, has more to do with one being able to accurately predict the future than to recount the past. Some would call this place of decision-making-hell a Dichotomy.
For too many individuals, there can be no right decision based upon facts because the value of these facts tend to change with the winds of endless answers to boundless questions.
One's current fate of employment has now turned into their present fate of imprisonment. Only additional periods of time will tell what particular future fate will befall them all. |

IBC is at long last SOL in the good old USA! They now find themselves paying the price for years of lying, cheating and stealing from and to their employees and customers.
And most recently, they have added their creditors to this list by filing bankruptcy!
Not one minute too soon for me and a whole lot of others, I would say! Begone and good riddance!
How could they manage to get so many ignorant assholes into major corporate positions at the same time? |

MAKE THEM GET OUT ON THE SHIPPING FLOOR AND HELP US LOAD THESE TRUCKS. OR SHOULD THE REST OF US FOLLOW EXAMPLE AND DO NOTHING ALSO. HOW CAN YOU JUSTIFY THIS WASTE OF MONEY TODD B? Recently purchased a Hostess pie with a sale date of Mar 19 from a local gas station.
Proof of Purchase code 04503105
It was absolutely awful -- Beginning to think the date was Mar 19 04 not 05 --
These are not the wonderful products I grew up -- It was stale, the filling was dried out, the apple pieces were rubbery
I am sorry they are not as good as they used to be --- am now apprehensive about purchasing your products especially if the sale date is not a good indicator of quality. |

I recently purchased some Hostess Apple Pies, and I noticed something strange with the flavor. I first thought the onion taste was from something that I had eaten earlier, but it wasn't. I had a second pie and still discovered that strange flavor. I would like to know if that flavor is part of the cooking process or something else. Any help that you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I look forward to any posts.

The Problem with IBC is that the wrong people are in the wrong possition. We have a manager in Defiance with more experience and education then most of his bosses and he works 80 hours a week, no complaint. He could definately run IBC but he is stuck doing clerical work. Those that could really help the company pull out are not being used in the right way but rather are really being used in the wrong way. Using assets to there fullest potential is imperative to good management teams..... Wise up! It isn't that hard to recognize who and how to find a solution to the problems. |

We visited a Walgreens and purchased two Hostess Honey Buns. When we arrived at home, my boyfriend opened his Honey Bun and proceeded to eat it. In the middle of eating it, he discovered what appeared to be half of a cricket or a cockroach. Disgusted, he ran to the restroom, threw up, and showed me the insect. I confirmed with him that it was either a cockroach or a cricket. Beyond appalled and dismayed at Hostess brand, we have decided to write to you to make you aware of this disgusting discovery. I have purchased many Hostess brand foods and after this experience, I am so disgusted even just thinking about the whole situation. We're intending to alert others on this incident and make sure that they are very careful with what they consume from Hostess. It's a very scary experience to think you can safely enjoy a product and come to find that you're eating a disease-carrying insect. There will be a report made to the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Reports so that they are aware of these unsafe consumer products. |

Wonder management is just plain mean spirited, openly showing their distain for anything Millbrook. Without their cash cow Homepride, they would be nothing, just look in one of their trucks and all you'll see is Homepride. If and when they merge the trucks, those Wonder salespeople are in for a great shock! Anyhow, good luck fellas, you'll need it! |

Well Mr. Puddinhead, I said that I look on this site for rumors so I am no better and I know that. You and your buddy read my post and thought I was a girl. If you think it's cool when "your buddy doopie'' makes comments like he does about girls well thats just wrong.I respect women and maybe he should too.All your posts seem to act like doopie is your idol what do you see in someone like that??I have read your posts and you seem to care like I do myself. This company pays us alot of money and it's not all that bad.Like I have said before this job is what you make it.You can talk to people on your route make friends and you can enjoy being out there. They can plus us product tell us what to do,but we are adults if we don't need it leave it and most people are going to do what they want anyways.Everyone just wants to stab the next person in the back. They may act nice to your face, but they don't care about you they care about themselves.People should try to care and they may feel better and not have the need to start all these rumors.GOOD LUCK to all, you too PUDDINHEAD!! |
