from our contact over at chicago northside: it seems that no one wants to buy the property over at chicago northside due to the immense amounts of contamination at that location. we have heard that the word "CANCER" has been used in discussions relevant to that facility. it's funny none of the people working there have ever been told of this. or is it?

High Level Meeting at Plt 27 yields new Production manager, Andrew Chavez is set to take the helm at Glendale 27, The present and embattled Prod Mngr. JC was seen being comforted by his long time companion as he left the plant today Please wish Andy Godspeed in his monumental task turning around Prodution here. JC's had a great run until his subordinate RR left before the inevitable was to occur. JC has found himself left with no one to chase him around the desk and play team solitare with. Andy's focus will be product quality and getting the product out to the depots, As opposed to the former whose quality issues were limited to the aftermarket products he choose to use on his 4X4 Chevy. Now all we Need is a CHIEF ENG!!!! Good Luck ANDY!!!!! you have all our support.,

If it is, you will have lost a family. It takes years to cultivate a loyal customer and only moments to lose that same customer. I hope my local store was only temporary out of the regular Hostess crumbcakes. There is no comparison between the two products. Thank you. Jack Gourley

People ask. Why is it that the company keeps everything a secret? Well if they would tell you everything that is going on and be upfront and honest with the work force most of you would leave now and the others would stay but would not care. Then you have the kisses who will stay till the end on their knees.

Comment: You don't need to know everything about the Law of Physics to know IBC is down for the count. Just pick up a newspaper or log onto the worldwide web to read about other Corporations in their bankrupt worlds. Then compare what their doing to the deeds of IBC. Did these many other bankrupt Corporations make their top officer one who was skilled in the art of going broke? No! You can even compare what IBC is failing to do against your own financial misdeeds in life. Last Christmas when you bought half the world presents, did you not find out later that you made a mistake! Well, IBC doesn't accept their mistakes. What one fails to accept in life as a mistake, will hold them back forever! In my humble opinion, IBC is clearly a cripple for life!

Comment: It's a sad day when so many Corporations in America are being abused and driven into bankrurptcy by their Corporate Leadership in pursuit of their own self interests. And it's an even a greater tragedy when American Labor Unions, in the form of their leadership, treat their flocks like indentured servants. Greed, graft and corruption in America knows no limits when it comes to dealing with vast amounts of people, cash and other assets. IBC Corporate is telling their labor force to hang on and work ever harder to help save their jobs while attempting to spin off the company behind closed doors and fill their own pockets with the cash it will bring them. In the meantime, IBC's many labor unions, are telling their so-called membership really nothing about this bankruptucy thing and they could care less about losing them personally other than replacing them with other dues paying members. Collectively, both groups of so-called leaders in our society are prime suspects in an ongoing investigation for murder. Acting together, they are seeking to destroy America as it was founded and bend it to their own benefit. And, should they continue to succeed, you and I will most likely be slaves once more!

Comment: I have to step in here on the comments I am reading concerning Lou Germain. I dont know who the fool is with his head up his keister that thinks that Lou is anything but a true asset to your company. I have known Lou for the better part of a decade as a supplier of his, and I have NEVER known him to be anything other than a consumnate professional. He knew what he wanted, when he wanted it and how he wanted it done. He and Danny Faulkner (Charlotte) were practically the only sanitarians within your organization that had a true grasp on how to run a clean bakery. This clown must think Gerry Corwin was a demi-god (remember him from the LA plants??). Whomever is speaking out the freakin arse needs to get a grip and thank their lucky stars Lou wants to hang on and HELP your plant keep getting SUPERIOR ratings instead of taking the easy way out and telling IBC to shove it where the sun dont shine. You need MORE people like Lou, not less. Enough said.

Comment: Every time the price drops on IBC stocks, their windpipe is squeezed down a little tighter. It's only a matter of days now before they quit breathing altogether and some say we need to bury them as soon as possible. IBC has been indicted too many times over these last several years for pulling too many wrongdoings on the American people and are hopelessly plagued by a culture of corruption at the expense ot the our society. Good riddance to bad apples, I say! American people deserve to know they are not getting screwed by today's Corporations in their market place and where they labor for their daily bread.

Comment: What IBC needs to do is to take a lesson from Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL) in screwing U.S. taxpayers and their government. They just signed a multi-million dollar deal with our FEMA agency (no bid needed) to dock three of their ships in our cities hit by recent hurricanes for six months. The bill will come to over 250 millon dollars for just sitting in port and letting a few persons live on board each one. CCL pays almost no taxes to our government and in this case they applied for and received yet another complete tax exemption. Please God, will you see these people get a front row seat on the train to hell sometime real soon? Thank you!

Comment: I have spoken to a representative of your company before. I live in the Portland Or area and I believe he said that he was from the Seattle area. He said that the Ding Dongs that are sold in this area are prepared in the Seattle plant. My complaint at that time ....and now pertains to the wrapping of the individual Ding Dongs. Now as always before they are wrapped in foil. I buy these quite often and have found that the foil wrapping is done poorly, often with exposure of the cake on the bottom, tears in the foil....both top and bottom. Basically, with the foil wrap they are not protected from exposure to germs, etc. This was the essence of the subject matter that I spoke of to the rep. I stated that it would be cost effective and more sanitary if they were wrapped and sealed in a plastic type wrap. The rep said that they have always been done in foil.....that this what people expect.....think of the cost to change over to plastic.....etc, etc. I told him that the cost to convert would be minimum and the cost return would be great. The last box that I purchased had this code on the box......014234...Sep 15. Now over 6 in this box had flaws in the foil wrap. Maybe corporate brains could give this some thought.

Comment: It is very alarming when using a plain hamburger bun and find seeds embedded on the bottom of the bun. What this tells me is that you do not change the parchment papers when you cook other products. I have a disease which could kill me if i had a seed get caught in my digestive track. This is not the first time this has happened and something has to be done. Maybe talk to a lawyer so that baking companies will be more care full as to what goes on. The numbers off the package are as fallows. I wrote not to long ago about the star roll with seeds embedded on the bottom of the bum. 87 254 0920 0 00:53

Kudos to IBC for saving Lou a job. He came from WAterloo was moved to Davenport, so, it is only right they do this. You have no idea what a great guy you are getting. If you don't like him than you are RETARDED! You neandrothol!

Comment: Today's IBC news tells us the sky is falling for them in almost every state of our Union. Those in the know relate to today's news as entirely trustworthy insofar as if it was not for the West Coast holding the sky up for them, they would not be here today. It seems the West Coast has a double-edged effect to it however and IBC is feeling it as we speak. Their competition along with their poor planning and lack of a true leader is killing them on the West Coast! It won't be long now before their announced demise. All the king's horses along with all the king's men and women alike, could not save this archaic beast from certain death!

Comment: In today's business world, rarely do multi-million (now trillion!) dollar companies go broke all by themselves! Whatever form they take or serve dictates their life span on earth. With IBC, it's a case of mismanagement and condoned greed at all levels of their operational being. Having filed for debtor-in-possession bankrutcy will soon tell their continued life's story like it is. Some say it will be "Dead Man Walking" and yet others say "they will recover to live another century." The real truth in this respect is that nobody really knows for sure but Father Time and current events will come to rule and determine their final days on earth.

Gee..what are the chances a bunch of low lifes would get together and look for a quick payoff to easy money? I want to thank these A**holes for drumming up charges of "racism" and not being promoted after 20+ years even though others with less years were promoted. Did you ever stop to think maybe they were promoted because they have the drive to make things happen, unlike you whining losers who think years with a company is all you need to succeed.Maybe it's because you suck at your job, you're lazy and place blame on others that you do not get promoted..look at your own shotcomings before you begin whining "racism". It's real simple..Shut up,do your damn job and be lucky you have one..Lastly.thank you so much for helping throw this company into bankrutcy with your "poor poor me attitude" hope you enjoy you enjoy your settlement..Your lawyers will get atleast half of it,you're now known as a slacker and (thank god) you will never get a decent job again . enjoy poverty you scum sucking porch dwelling drunken losers

The company has alot of money and property left to sell. $18 million is nothing to them. Its like when your government leaders screw up and lawsuits are filed. Guess who pays the settlement? Why the taxpayer pays the settlement. And the leaders who made the mistake pay nothing and lose nothing. Same here the investors pay the bill and the leaders in corporate pay nothing and go on with their good life of plenty. This is the circle of life.

Comment: IBC SETTLES CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT EFFECTIVE 09-16-2005! Read it and weep, IBC employees and stockholders! What your hard labor and frugle investments brought you, several IBC executives have taken away to the tune of $18 million, intentionally misleading investors and employee's by selling off their shares behind closed corporate doors and insider information. IBC has a long history of one step forward, two steps back leadership. The good news is their now bankrupt and their many misdeeds are now being exposed and made public. The bad news is they took too many of their employees and investors to the poor house in their quest for personal greed, graft, corruption and big bucks! I guess they could claim insanity by telling our courts their insatiable thoughts of big bucks and power drove them nuts! Yes, lets try this one on for size!

Comment: We can't recap everything going on at IBC in their attempts to deal with filing bankruptcy but we can tell you their attempts at route consolidations, elimination of private label accounts and stretching out the distance between their "profit centers," is not working. These are all forms of corporate suicide and IBC corporate appears hell bent to make it happen. Just like they have medical malpractice lawsuits today, they should also have corporate malfeasance suits as well.

Something smells fishy here. Glendale Plant filled two positions that they had open, of course they were filled with Wonder Bread boys. It just seems funny that some of the Millbrook employees have put their names in on current job openings and been turned down. The reason has been they are not qualified? Yet they have held their current positions for over 10 years. Somethings smells fishy?

Comment: Another story of unexpected success hits our front pages today having to do with IBC's entire line of baked goods. It seems they found a new use for it in several states throughout our Nation of One! For the uniformed, IBC has been struggling for several years now just to stay alive and they have been observed dumping their unsold/overbaked products into our sewer lines. Well, last week we received a report which stated that sewer lines in Kansas City and other affected states as well, have never been cleaner. It seems that as these large balls of IBC baked products traveled along throughout these several sewer lines, they acted like a giant- sized Q-Tip, thereby cleaning out and pushing ahead to dump into our oceans, whatever was in them. The end result being, we now have clean, shining metal pipes for our sewers. Thank you IBC for a dirty job well done!

To Irwin : It seems I.B.C. puts people in positions to fail sometimes to justify their pre-planned decisions . This is done so that they have an answer for the masses. They do the same thing with market areas. When they make changes that drastically change an area and it fails miserably , it justifies decisions that will affect the company ;ater on . I believe they are doing this to Emporia now. A once profitable bakery keeps losing production , because of poor decisions being made for their region. We as employees see the falling sales firsthand . This has gone on the past 2 years, and it is now becoming apparent that sales have pretty much bottomed out to new lows. Anyways , I hope you find a new job. Good luck .

Worst thing to ever happen to IBC & CBC is that they merged. IBC should have stayed #3. Their greed and anxiety to be #1 ruined them. They should have done the old fashion way. Hard Work, Quality and Loyality. Interstate Bakeries Corporation (IBC) (NYSE: IBCIQ (http://www.nyse.com/about/listed/lcddata.html?ticker=IBCIQ)) is the largest wholesale baker and distributor of fresh bakery products in the United States, and is the owner of the Hostess, Wonder Bread, Dolly Madison, Butternut, and Drake's brands. It is based in Kansas City, Missouri. It was formed by the buyout of Continental (number one baker at that time) by Interstate Brands Corporation (number three baker) from Ralstons. A large portion of the payment was in stock. Ralstons made an enormous profit when the stock jumped significantly shortly after the buyout. Butternut Bread/DollyMadison bought out Wonderbread/Hostess and ex-Merita Baking head, Charles Sullivan, became the CEO. Butternut and Wonderbread operated with different cultures: Butternut was seat-of-the-pants, with each bakery a self-contained profit center; Wonderbread was very "procedural and by-the-book." This caused some problems early on. In both cultures, snack cakes were more profitable due to "economies-of-scale and logistics." When extended-shelf-life enzymes were developed for bread, the hope was to convert the system of many small inefficent bakeries into an efficient network of a relatively few giant bakeries like their snackcakes operation. Bad luck intervened; the old resurrected Atkin's diet and Krispy-Kreme doughnuts affected pricing and sales volume. On September 22, 2004 Interstate Bakeries filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company also named a new chief executive. James R. Elsessor, who had taken over as CEO for Charles Sullivan, was replaced by Tony Alvarez. Interstate Bakery's stock, which had been at one time $34/share, has fallen to $2.05/share as they declare bankruptcy.

Thats the way it is only difference you can not vote the management out of office. So you are stuck with them so make the best of it or leave.

There seems to be a notion that if you complain you are part of the problem. That could'nt be further from the truth. As a 20+ year employee,i've found that the people who speak up and speak out are the one's who truly give a shit about this company. The one's who keep quiet could care less if this company survive's or not.As for the changes that happened lately in So.Cal. it seems that we will have more of the same b.s. as in the past.I've worked for other companies and have obseved others and I can truthfully say that our Marketing dept. is the worse(by a mile) I have ever seen. What do these guys or gals do? If it was'nt for the route personnel who knows where we would be.They can't seem to get promotion dates or prices right over 50% of the time.A big Co. like ours cannot survive or grow as long as we have a marketing dept. like the one we've had the last 5 years.Time for a change. The good old buddy network does'nt or has'nt worked for a while.

Hey DoughFreak...you out there? It has been a while since I posted. So, what do you think about all the changes? Good, bad, or indifferent. I have personal opinions, but it doesn't matter. I believe we sufferred a setback the day we handed out 60 day "WARN" notices to our employees. Things seemed to take a turn for the worse. We made mistakes on the recent management changes. We have quality issues. We seem to be putting out fires instead of concentrating on what caused the fires. As far as you and I go...it's all good. You are as proud of your heritage(glendale) as I am of mine(pomona). There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. We should all be as proud! Those that are as unhappy as they seem to be(by the postings I read) need to leave. We are changing, this is true. Some areas are good, some areas are bad. IBC will make it. I hope to be a part of this. If it gets to the point where I am not happy, I will move on. We need people that will help, not complain. We do have people in the wrong positions, I admit this. Given time and enough rope, they will hang themselves. Hang in there...things will get better. Have a great day off...Breadman!!

Philly bakery needs to concentrate on quality not quantity. Just give us what we order. If it's good quality product on a consistant basis believe me we'll order more. We don't need "units" to make the numbers look better. How do you think we got where we are today? You should make product that not only catches the customer's eye but makes the salesman say "wow......I can really push this!" We work on commission, remember?

I think Jim Hutton was a hell of alot better production manager than Jeff Davis. Jim Hutton cared about his employees! He treated everyone fair! Jeff Davis is trying to make things better, but he is only making things worse! He don't care about the employees. He only cares about himself. There is no seniority what so ever there. A top seniority person cannot bump. All the low jobbers have their way. Its really too bad that IBC cannot be more like Sara Lee (Colonial). If you worked there everyone was on their bid job. There was no one that got to do what they wanted to do that week. It was a HELL of a lot better there. The same thing is going to happen at IBC that happened to Sara Lee. Its going downhill!!! Way down!!!

Comment: Katrina was strong enough to overcome our coastline defenses and killing off our citizens with impunity but the real damage and disappointment took place even before she hit town. Public Officials in these towns and others in our Nation as well, have no personal abilities whatsoever to serve them in order to protect and to lead mankind on earth. For any number of reasons, they are in positions of trust to take from us, and end up doing us more harm than good. In many ways, IBC and their general employee population has been befallen with this same order of human misfits at the helm of their corporate ship.

Comment: I have used Beefsteak Seeded Rye bread for years. It comes in a red package. It used to be a soft rye but now is corse and tends to fall apart. The seedless variety comes in a blue package and says Soft Rye, while the red one says Hearty Rye. Did the red one change or is there a red one that says Soft Rye. I really don't care at all for the Hearty Rye--it now falls in with the Arnolds, etc. I want the seeded soft rye back!!

YES-Mr. "Hands-On" Handley does spend long hours away from home. I am a store manager in Colorado and he has hit on me. He asked if I was married--and his next question (later when my Supervisor was on the phone) was "Are you surgically safe" What the hell does that have to do with selling bread or cake. Lee knows exactly who is writng this, and if he attempts ANY retaliation against me, I will step forward with a fury greater than hurricane Katrina. Lee, you have serious issues and I think you must seek help. You are like a pedophile around kids, except it's when you see women. Talling me about the fact that you have 5" down below, however it's as wide as a Maglite flashlight does nothing for me. Has anyone else had Lee speak to them about the size of his Penis? I personally know of one other store manager that has had Lee speak with her about his Penis. Please Missouri manager, post here about your experience and then contact HR. Lee Handley needs to exit the company before he starts to expose himself.

Wow...way to misplace the blame. How can you blame a brand for the collapse of 10 brand company? All you have to do is look at the management. It was their direction that caused the fall. Were they not able to control Hostess? Hostess didn't buy IBC. Take off the IBC rose colored glasses.

To anon Emporia: They have been killing the Dolly Label in Texas the past 2 1/2 years. I imagine that your production has dropped off significantly . We dominated this market , with the exception of Little Debbie. Poor decisions have once again ruined a great maket. This is done so corporate can justify their decisions. I would agree with you, that once Emporia's production drops to a certain level it will be closed at some point in the future. It has been a slow and painful desmise. I. B. C. may survive without Emporia , but it will lose it's heart and soul.

okay i am rolling up my sleeves and putting up the fists, lets scap cbc st louis. You all are a bunch of spoiled brats that get paid to do nothing but sit on your laurels and bitch about dolly. You are getting stores and routes that dolly sweat and tears built up. You can't leave the stupid rivarly out of anything. You are nasty to the emporia office personel and all they did was say good morning. What the hell is wrong with you people? It was one IBC from the beginning but you all put the divider in. Hostess refused to share depots, share routes, reallocate the market so we had only one route hitting stores with both products. Dolly folks were bending over backwards for your primadonna asses and all you did was show us your scorn. And I been around for over 40 years with Interstate Brands due to parental units working here too. Lets talk about IBC the smaller company bought out Hostess from Ralston. It was suggested at the time that the markets be combined and Routes sell all product so only one was servicing a store. To save on monies and Dolly people were brought up with a midwest attitude of politeness that you Hostess people do not have ever. Dolly people were willing to combine so there would only be one depot in town. but HOSTESS THREW THE HISSY FIT and wasn't going to have it that way. Sheesh now look the market is being combined, one route selling all products and if you HOSTESS had gotten your heads out of your asses early on and were not the prima donnas that you are. WE WOULD NOT HAVE GONE BANKRUPT. because consolidation and cooperation would have happened. so there THHHHTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! '

The General Office and kiss my A** for all we care. Hostess will be the only label to survive so sorry Emporia - but CBC Management was always better. Yeah Right these are the same fools that allowed us to be sold to you idiots at IBC. By the way the Smith fool (VP of PC), was an idiot when he was here as a District Manager - I can not beleive that the promoted that idiot. I thought they caned his butt in Davenport for playing hide the salami with his secretary and accounting manager. Thought that they filed a lawsuit against him (after they found out about each other that is). I guess those special little pills work after all dont they Smithy. Speaking of other fools, sorry to the PC that ending up with Worrley, he ran us into the ground and then they promote him to vp, what a Company. Where else can the Truely Idiotic be promoted and make our lives a living hell. I cant wait to see how this soap opera comes out -- "Who shot Smith" will be one major showing.

They continue to push the Hostess Label and kill the label we produce @ Emporia, who will save the DOLLY Label. See this is what happens when you bring a bunch of idiots from CBC and ask them to run a IBC Dominated Market. I have to agree with the majority of the other posters that the biggest idiot is that Smith Jack***, he thinks he knows everything. Well I will give him credit, he does know how to kill Dolly. How much more prodcution do you need to pull out of here before you tell you are going to close our shop and destroy our lives as we know it. When interviewed, he disclosed that the mere sight of so many supersized female breasts at once in such a confined space caused him to suffer great concern, anxiety and a rather prolonged stiff neck. Mr. "Handy Man" Handley it turns out, would be better qualified for the television show, Desperate Housewives than IBC's mismanagement team! His wife of 30 years and sporting 42" breasts herself, indicated "He was always overwrought with long hours spent away from home and at work and has always been a hands-on manager with hugh porn-driven librarys both at home and at his job for motivation."

Do their HR posters actually portray... they must appear humanlike more female than male, spineless in character, motivated with thoughts and deeds of greed, graft and corruption. Accomplished in the human arts of Workplace Terrorism, Human Degradation and Covert Surveillance. Hopefully you all got the Memo to save money by making sure you turn off the lights when you leave the room? If you do this one thing it may help us from going belly up. They just don't get it. If they would do away with the lease cars and trim the excess fat out of the KC office they would save enough to operate for a whole year. The dumb shit that said to order the G-Force pen, and then everyone went out and ordered these pens? How much money was needlessly wasted by this one act. We hardly ever ordered ink pens until we were told to use these now we can't wait to order every chance we get. Stupid idea this person that came up with this needs to be taken out of the gene pool.

Ed in Florence: I am getting grief about the workplace from my family . More hours less pay/ benefits. It all works out to not getting paid enough. I worked pullups on Labor Day . I did not get paid . I told my supervisor, and he said that he hoped that it would be on the next paycheck. I Know for a fact , that it SHOULD be on the next paycheck. Especially, since it was his mistake. He did not apologize at all . His response was that , I hope it is on the next paycheck. Oh , by the way, I need to explain further..... I went on vacation and a rt. relief person made mistakes on the rt. I came back that Monday and resumed the rt. A couple of months later that supervisor was accusing me of the rt. being short. I told him I was on vacation that week . He could not figure out why the paperwork was short . I looked at the paperwork and came to the conclusion that I could not figure out why the rt. was short. Guess what? He conveniently forgot to tell payroll to pay me for pullups. I do not mind working long hours , but to purposely shortchange an employee about hours worked is inexcusable. These are the problems that are perpetrated against individuals at I.B.C. on a regular basis . I used to be in mgt. , and it gets ridiculous. If you make mgt. look bad , it only makes matters worse . I am currently seeking new employment. I.B.C. will never change.

Comment: It seems Corporations today have found several new weapons of mass destruction to use against their labor forces and certain nations of the world, including America. Bankruptcy, business merger and acquisition laws, labor unions and politcal insider connections are all being worked overtime in their attempts to redefine and impoverish working class people in their attempts to rule the entire earth as one. Corporations are literally dumping their debts, legal obligations and former employees upon American taxpayers and walking away from billions of dollars in debt including underfunded and unpaid pension obligations. Strark reality tells us, working class people acting individually, don't have a chance in hell of defending themselves against Governments or Corporations. Without exception, every type of structure formed to represent the working class in America collectively, including forms of government and labor unions, has broken down and now works against their best interests. Free enterprise, the economic backbone of America, is being assaulted and eliminated by Corporations with your governments blessings, folks! The question is now, what can we mere working class mortals do about correcting this shame before it's too late?

Comment: Hello, I am writing this letter regarding Hostess Ding Dongs, box number 045000003019. We are a family with 9 children and the wife & I, we purchase an awful lot of your products. Our children are 21 down to 3 yrs old, 7 are still at home and all are two years apart. We have been married 24 yrs and all children from same BEAUTIFUL women, God is good! Want a picture of the HOSTESS LOVING FAMILY? All 11 of us! Well, one of our (my) favorites is your Ding Dongs, they have been great. The last two time I (we) purchased them (we buy 2 boxes at a time) I noticed that the cream inside seemed to be LESS, have you started putting in less cream in the centers lately? I have now opened the third box and I am really unhappy with my findings, it seems to me that you are using LESS cream for the centers, why? I consider myself and family connoisseurs of your products, with the money we have spent on these items we could have sent one or two of our children to school for deserts!! It sure seems sad if this is what you are doing. The price is NOT cheap and the quality should ALWAYS remain the same as your past products, which were GREAT, GOOD, MOIST, FRESH & CONSISTENT! Please tell me that you have not changed and I by fluke got some bad (less than acceptable) Ding Dongs.... It also seems that your WORLD FAMOUS TWINKIES have had some changes too!

Comment: I am totally hooked on the light twinkies. However, I have a problem. This morning I ate one as usual. This pm I have had belly problems.(diarrhea if I must be blunt) And I think I now know why. I just opened one from the box to give my kids for bedtime snack. I happened to look at the bottom and there was mold on it. I am fairly certain that is probably what made me ill today. There had been one opened when I first opened the package, but I didn't think much of it. Now I think this whole box should not have made it out of the factory. Here is the info from the box: Last sale date: 00235 A$3.49 06:51 Sell by Sep 17 UPC: 45000 00824 I purchased this box at the end of last week.

I would like to know who sets prices for our company. Box cake at 2/$5.00 for the past two months has increased our business 10 fold. It seems to me that the volume we have at that price would more than make up for the price loss per unit. Also -- who's bright idea was it to go up on the dunks? we have lost well over half the business since the increase. It seems that someone would react to the lost business...

Comment: I think we all need to start thinking like IBC Corporate and their board of directors do. There must be some type of mind altering substance we can swallow to help us all accomplish this major undertaking task. Yes, it's going to be impossible and runs counter to every thing we have spent our entire lives learning and living but we must do it or financially die trying. If it helps you, try to think about an earlier period in your lives when times were happy and you were surrounded with hundreds of people who liked you. Now replace this thought with...hundreds of people who were gunning for your job. Now, bring in the soft background sounds and introduce some color and lighting. That's it. Now empty your mind of everything moral and uplifting in your entire life. This is a big one so remain calm and don't move for awhile. That's good. Oooooops! Sorry. I must of been dreaming on my lunch. See you later. God, I hope I'm not late! Whooops! I can't be late, I don't punch the clock! Wake up girl!

Another brillant move by the over-paid management of IBC, reset Walmart Erwin & Watkins Glenn, New York next week no Wonder Bread Space in the new reset. We now have a route that lost $3000.00 in P/L on the last reset and now the same route is losing $3000.00 in Wonder sales. This was a $7500.00 route that now does $1500.00 and the company won't let us take a route off even though we are two men short and a route sit's on the floor every day and doesn't go out. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !!!

We were a test market for these 2 Varieties, we are kicking Sara Lee's asssssss. Wonder fans is 100% whole Grain, Sara Lee only can call their bread whole grain, not 100% whole grain. Wonder Kids is also out selling Iron Kids in this market, in only 2 months. Keep the faith, you will get it soon.

To Elissha : You brought up some good points. Negative comments only make the situation worse, but the company needs to find out why their employees feel the way they do. Management is stressful in the service industry as a whole, but at I.B.C. it takes on a whole new meaning. Stress seminars , Anger mgt. seminars, are just a couple of things that would not only help the situation, but help employee morale. It starts with mgt. and filters down . In todays workplace , you cannot demand that an employee go the extra mile . Although, if the manager is positive , it helps create a better work atmosphere. I think that I.B.C. should implement a company policy that X amount of employees are cross trained. For example, an RSR is sent to a bakery for a week and works with the loaders . A transport driver gets to ride a route. Route accounting clerks ride a route. RSR's work in Rt. accounting for a week .Safety mgr's riding on a route. This may have happened at I.B.C. in the past, but it has not hapened in awhile. When this happens, you would see a total attitude adjustment throughout I.B.C. Have a Super Duper Razzilicious Day!!!!!!!!!

Comment: For those poor souls constantly striving to keep America free: My rendering of a prior post below... Ahhh yes, today's posts wring-out the truth about IBC's Corporate World. A great many souls here, singing out their mismanagement blues while telling us their workplace has turned into a dog and pony show replete with abnormal amounts of howling inhabitants. Howling because they are distempered and kept in mental cages. Overdoses of human dissention and despair have beset their ranks and can now be seen driving them into bankruptcy hell. For those into denial or wearing "rose colored IBC glassess," none of this stuff is real for them. Many will never "wake up" because stark reality is too bright a light to shed upon their world. For the few that do survive, their minds will be completely drained. Should we ever view them again, it will most likely be at the cross roads of life wherein they will be sadly seeking food, shelter or financial support. What happened at IBC, you ask? Well, it's a case of America hell bent on becoming a Wasteland for mankind! How can this happen, you ask? Well, by choosing to ignore the warning signs when Corporation's started to turn America into their playground and handed third world countries our jobs, our futures, and our nation.

Ahh yes I can see by looking in another direction that IBC and it's minions are only giving lip service to the masses. They don't want to see how their indifference to my flowery language can annhilate the trust given to them by the mindless multitudes. Some corporate gurus have noted such behavior and as such have become enamored with themselves at the expense of the average Joe. They care not about their misdeeds. The elementary particles that pass through my brain vary in speed and intent. They know nothing of the bullshit that spouts from my keyboard. Our only hope is in gathering the nay-sayers in defiance of the terms of our bankruptcy, and banishing them to everlasting, eternal, foreverness. Those who scratch their heads in their attempt to decipher my ramblings should worry not about their stupidity. They will see, when the time comes, that I was right about everything all along.

I wasn't trying for suck points. I know that there are loads of problems with the company. There are with every company. I was aiming my remark toward the Springfield IBC and it's people here. Did anyone ever stop to think that maybe one of the largest problems with the company as a whole is the negativity? Who the hell would want to try or care if everyone is telling them how horrible they are and how bad they suck. Sure they might suck, but only because you don't expect more from them. I believe there is a huge lack of respect in this company, from management to drivers.... between everyone. Negativity will not move this company forward. It will keep us in a state of complacency and lead to more regression. Think about maybe trying to uplift each other instead of tearing each other down. And maybe you could get the balls not to post annonymously. If you are so passionate you shouldn't feel the need to hide. Have a super day!

They are absolute evil in character and are to be considered the lowest form of human kind on earth. American labor today needs to rid themselves not only of the Teamsters Union but almost this entire race of traitors, pimps and prostitutes calling themselves labor unions. In my opinion, they are no better than the pedophile's we find in our society. No amount of law enforcement, prison time nor medical treatment will ever change one thing about them. Think about it! The Teamsters Union has been under a federal oversight committee since 1989. They remain there to this very day! Greed, graft and corruption define the Teamsters Union.

Their stock has hit an all time high rising upward 18 per cent overnight to hit $27.69 a share. TO FLOWERS...and furthermore they (Flowers) are telling Wonder and Sara Lee where their bread will be and how much. Not the way to survive. Not enough people to run routes- who wants to work 16-18 hr a day at least. We laugh at the benefit complaints from up north, here you are sick you work, never had sick leave only vacation. No sense of direction....NO SENSE PERIOD

Comment: Your right! There's more to IBC's value than just their stock numbers! However, other than their long time real estate holdings and a handful of several branded products, I can't think of one more thing! Maybe someone here can help me? They have no leadership outside of 101 in sheer stupidity, they have no plan for success therefore they plan for failure, they show themselves to be completely fragmented and at war within. Don't be bashful! Let's hear it group.

Comment: IBC's stock price today has fallen back to a single digit and shows several millions of shares were also traded as well, folks. It don't look good and IBC can't continue to just stand still tredding water while drowning in a sea of management misfits! They've been on their way out since Alvarez was hired to save them! Alvarez walks in and IBC's future walks out! IBC stockholders better dump him and his clowns sooner than later, if they want to continue to live and enjoy their investment.

Hey Smith - Do us all a favor and Quit and go work for Bimbo. That way you can leave us alone to run our own markets. Yes we all knew that Bimbo was coming into our market we were taking steps and meeting with the store managers to save our space - we do not need you out here screaming about how our space looks. You did more damage to my market by yourself than bimbo did - thanks for pissing off the store managers now they want to move my space down further.

Any truth to the rumor that they have finally had it with those idiots in Lenexa, division office. We heard that Tony A got wind of the crap they have been handing out and they are to be gone. The product has no Quality Standards, and we as routemen do not care anymore, they just keep plussing the orders no matter what we order. If true THANK YOU TONY for getting rid of SMITH he is one complete idiot. He knos nothing about how to manage people - you cant just yell and scream and expect us to jump to fix the problems that only you see and cause. If not true, then TONY A you are an IDIOT as well. Smith will kill this sales area - he is only loyal to CBC & its HOSTESS products - he hates the Dolly label and anyone who was IBC before they bought CBC. Want proof - look and see who he put in PC Management - they are all old CBC Idiots not one IBC person. And the only Sales Manager that is old IBC was Eilers - because no one else wanted Texas, otherwise they all would be CBC flunkies. When is Kansas City or the so called DIV Office-Phoneix(?) going to do something about this major idoit and get someone in here who is LOYAL to the One IBC goal and help us save our jobs and sales and Company Stock.

Comment: Today's report on IBC's pending problems brings news about their Transport Drivers in California needing to wait up to 6 hours a day before they are allowed to punch in and start to perform their job duties. The problem is two-fold: First, these employee's are instructed "not" to punch in until their trucks are loaded and ready to go.They are to keep track of their time "off the clock" and turn it into payroll each week. Second, these same employee's are limited by federal law as to how many hours they may work both daily and weekly. They are also restricted to a 10 hour off duty rule between workshifts. IBC is violating state law by telling their employee's not to punch in but to go home in order to be called back later after their trucks are loaded and ready to go, then paying them for hours not shown on their weekly time cards. IBC is also violating federal law by having their drivers falsify their federal log books and driving their trucks on public highways without the proper rest and working more hours, both daily and weekly, than federal and state law allows. As for these same employee's so-called labor union, namely Teamsters Local 63, they are too busy sleeping with IBC to care about their so-called membership or to protect them from harm! What a joke the Teamsters Union is today, folks. It's no wonder that they can't find their former leader's body, named Hoffa! They can't find their own ass with both hands!

Comment: The level of hatred towards the IBC on this website is incredible. Let me clue you in to one thing employees: YOU WORK FOR IBC, NOT A UNION. That's a fact - period. If you don't want to work for IBC, QUIT. IBC is paying your bills. Sure, times are tough and some cuts are NECESSARY. Unfortunately, some people will lose their jobs. Hopefully, that will be minimized with some modifications to the Collective Bargaining Agreemnts. Try to improve the attitudes and realize who signs your paycheck. Anyone who badmouths Tony Alvazez is completely clueless. He is one of the most highly regarded turnaround specialists in the world. IBC is lucky to have him. The Company's problems stem from DECADES of mismanagement. He's not going to be able to fix that overnight. Either get on the team, or get off the team. A good attitude and hard work will fix a whole hell of a lot of problems. Unfortunately, IBC seems to have more than its fair share of negative losers as employees. Love, Your Dad

Comment: IBC in California has several want ads in the L. A. Times today for Transport Drivers (truckdrivers) at their Millbrook, Glendale, Pomona and other select state locations. Word on the street is they are exceeding their drivers hours of service rules and telling their present drivers to refrain from punching in until their loads are ready to go (their current wait times exceed 6 hours daily) ! How's that for their choosing to continue to violate several state and federal labor laws for you, my friends! Was it a corporate decision made in heaven (Kansas City) or one made in California without their knowledge? Will someone call forth the Terminator? We need to know the truth about this story! Everytime corporate opens their mouth, they put their foot in it. It's a classic case of: We the willing, led by the unknown, are doing the impossible, for the ungrateful. My complaint about I.B.C Something is happening here, and I'm getting a little worried. Instead of focusing on why I become impatient with people who refuse to recognize the key role that I.B.C is playing in the destruction of our civilization, I would like to remind people that I.B.C's loyalists can't defend their strictures. Why do I tell you this? Because these days, no one else has the guts to. I.B.C contends that the worst sorts of brusque brigands there are are more deserving of honor than our nation's war heroes. Sounds rather disrespectful, doesn't it? Well, that's I.B.C for you. As for me, I have no bombs, no planes, no artillery, and no terrorist plots. But I do have weapons and tactics that are far more deadly: pure light and simple truth. It's not necessary to go into too long of a description about how I.B.C plans to convict me without trial, jury, or reading one complete paragraph of this letter in the immediate years ahead. Suffice it to say that it presents one face to the public, a face that tells people what they want to hear. Then, in private, I.B.C devises new schemes to caricature and stereotype people from other cultures. Let's look at the facts. First, I will renew my resolve to cast a gimlet eye on I.B.C's goals. Second, many scumbags have an intense identification with dangerous ideologues. And finally, I.B.C keeps telling us that we should be grateful for the precious freedom to be robbed and kicked in the face by such a noble creature as it. Are we also supposed to believe that courtesy and manners don't count for anything? I didn't think so. It is grossly misleading merely to claim that the biggest difference between me and I.B.C is that I.B.C wants to propitiate useless moral weaklings for later eventualities. I, on the other hand, want to help others to see through the empty and meaningless statements uttered by it and its stooges. If you've ever watched television or read a book, odds are that you already know that I.B.C's hijinks cannot stand on their own merit. That's why they're dependent on elaborate artifices and explanatory stories to convince us that it is aberrant to question I.B.C's anecdotes. To sum it all up, another point worth thinking about is that "disruptive" hardly seems like a strong enough word to describe I.B.C.

As a concerned employee of IBC for the past 15 years and just recently found out about this web site, I find it hard to read the stupid remarks made from the disgruntled employees we have obviously from the Glendale bakery. They complain about the changes made last week to the management team. Simi Valley to Anaheim is only a 1 hour to 11/2 hour drive while the DM for the Lancaster Area/Bakersfield/arroyo Grande lives in Ventura and drives alot more than the DM from Simi Valley. Everyone keeps blaming Pomona for the down fall of IBC. Pomona was not the bakery selling bread to prison and sholls for 50 cents. Someone in Glendale was just trying to make their numbers for their bonus. Where's the loyalty here? We all need to take a good look at ourselves and quit pointing the finger at eveyone but ourselves. We have promotion after promtion, spend money for ads and a better price but OUR RSR's fail to do their jobs in putting up displays to generate sales and repeat customers. I could keep going on and on but some how someone will ultimately put down any comment that is put on this STUPID SITE.

I think it will work like this. The company is one week away from going under, so they need to sell as much stuff as they can to stay a float. If your bakery is sold, they will rent a new place for the routes to run out of, and just transport the product to the new location. And either lay off the bakers or transfer them. Then the company will build brand new bigger and better state of the art bakerys to maximise profits, but will have to ship them farther, or code the product longer so its not stale by the time it gets to the depots. The days of the thrift stores are going to be over too, or will only be in low market poor neighborhoods. We might not like it, but every baking company is going to have to change the way they do business. remember this, its not about the bakers and route drivers, its only about UPPER MANAGEMENT and how much money they can line there pockets with..it will never change, NEVER....

Well to inform everybody they put a for sale sign up at our Northside Depot. Unfortanately we knew that this was coming since Northside has been the sore eye for the company sore eye for the company? northside has some of the best breadmen in the company! they have guys like Milton Williams, Jimmy Goss, Desmond Penn, Efrain Molina (last ten weeks in a row over the average minimum and single digit stale) and a host of other good r.s.r.'s. the sore eye? i.b.c. should be proud of what northside has accomplished given the competition from brownberry and pepperidge farm. just look at the numbers.

Mike, (From South Florida) Your resignation is very sad to hear. As a thirty year employee I know where you are coming from. I know the feeling well. The management of IBC could care less. After 6 weeks into the new mega route system we have lost a lot of business. Too many routes were cut at the same time, but management is patting themselves on the back for doing such a nice job of consodation . I guess they are trying to make themselves look good in Kansas City.In the end it is hurting, but we are only the delivery boys, we don't know anything. Good luck to you.

Comment: Dear Interstate companies......I live in Rome, Georgia and recently bought a loaf of Beefsteak hearty rye bread from the Piggly Wiggly store on Maple st. For some reason they are not carrying it anymore and no other store has had any that we are aware of. Can you please let me know how i can purchase some of this wonderful bread? Would it be possible to buy some via the internet? We have talked to the store manager, and he seemed uninterested in talking to the breadman that delivers. It's hard to find a decent loaf of ryebread anyway here in the south, and when we do (such as beefsteak).........we want more!!!!!!!!!!

Comment: To Whom It May Concern: Hostess Powdered Donettes are our favorite! We buy them constantly, however, we felt compelled to write a letter of disappointment. The last several boxes of them that we have bought have been stale. I know that you are probably wondering why we aren't writing the grocery stores instead. We have complained to them as well. The problem is that they came from different stores. We have not been able to find a fresh box in months. We have even exchanged boxes only to get home and find the new box to be stale also. We just felt that you would want to be informed of this problem so it can be remedied. Thank you for listening.

Mr. RAZZ...did u go to that Hilco website below your last post? If so, are those the only bakeries in question that will close or what? the properties listed on hilco's site are the properties that are up for sale. some are operating, some not. if they are operating, we believe they will shut down when they are sold...in the meantime, it's shitty buisness as usual...
