this company who is in financial turmoil. always spends their money on the stupidest things. 1.cages for the thrift store merchandise.(they can take our stuff that we sell at full cost, but we better not take their stuff that they sell at discount, cause u know we make more money selling something at the thriftstore than in a grocery store or a restaurent. 2.$3.49 bread (bakers inn) enough said 3. money wasted on stupid displays or end caps(instead of getting more space on aisle or running really good promotions.) 4.closing bakeries, laying people off, cutting routes, pulling out of stores and even whole mkts.(while adding more thrift stores, i heard that they r looking to put anotherone in my area.) 5.not enough people to do business properly. (we have a hard enough time just bein able to fill all the routes that r left, let alone having people to pull or like the competitors having mgrs. or sales people going to see stores and mgrs.

the problem is the fact that our paperwork goes to and from the rocky mt. bakery, and our product comes from knoxville. if that isnt confusing enough. 4 times since thanksgiving, they have sent our checks 1-2 days late. and we are always getting shorted on product.(supposedly cause we are the last depot and if all the bread cant fit on the transport we get shafted.)well this past friday we didnt get our checks, and no one could tell us why. then when they didnt come saturday? we finally were told sat. afternoon that they sent them ups and since it was a holiday weekend we wouldnt get our checks till tuesday.

have you guys seen any changes in distribution in your neck of the woods? Here in the NW we only have hostess. only in metro areas (our competion delivers hostess in rural areas) no bread at all. now i am starting to see Dolly Madison in some of our stores. It is being drop shipped frozen direct to stores, no rsr. store clerks work it to shelf. we are supposed to get 1% comission from they're drop ship business.(yipeee) the problem is hostess is right next to dolly and dolly is cheaper. we are competing with ourselves! Does this make any sense. I think this is the beginning of the end for rsr maybe whole company. have you seen this anywhere else?

It\'s a labor intensive competitive business that demands people to move the product, and advertising to tell the people your product is what they want. Of course, thats assuming you have product quality worth what you are asking for it.

Does it make any sence to have a Blackberry phone and a company cell phone and maybe a personal cell phone? Instead of making bread it looks like our Kansas City boys came from a techie convention. They have Blackberry's vibrating, Cell phones ringing all at the same time. All we can hope for is for a Bolt of Lightening to find them and light them up one by one, then we will start making money?

Cramer, for your information all the professionals are not in the production areas because we are doing paperwork that needs to be done today and answering emails. If you would look around you would see we are hiring people into bakery management positions that know nothing about bakery operations or how to bake a loaf of bread. The new measure on how well you are doing your job is to see how many email you can answer, forward or send out. By this measure you are doing a fine job.

We can only wish that the BK Judge gave Alvarez and his boys a tongue lashing about how IBC has not improved each months and how they keep burning through cash like it was a flour loss. Why haven't you Mr. Alvarez had any or few improvements after closing bakeries and reducing routes and laying worker off? You have reduced the pay of most employees yet you continue to creat jobs with absurd salaries and flying people back and fourth to hold meeting that are a waste of time most of the time? You quit contributing to your managements 401-k plan yet we are still losing money. Mr. Alvarez would you hire someone to work for your Bankruptcy Turn Around Company? That have no idea about BK laws and procedures or had the College degree that may be required? I think not. So why do you let the people that you think you can trust hire people into IBC that know absolutely nothing about our business or how to bake a loaf of bread or run a route or repair and service our equipment? Mr. Alvarez you seemed like the right person to guide us through this BK maze when you were asked to help us, but now its like we got the Forrest Gump of turn around specialist.

IBC dodged another bullet with BK Judge? Yarick and Ellsessor took the fall when they figured out they were in trouble with under reporting Worker Comp. Too bad BK Judge only gets part of the facts. Yarick and Ellsessor knew that when they resigned it would save IBC from millions in fines and investigation from the SEC. All IBC got was a slap on the wrist and Yarick a $50000. dollar fine (pocket change) for Yarick who had already filled is pockets, the fine should have been in the millions but as you can see they had a plan and the plan worked.

The only IBC that gets a bonus is sales and mgmt. So don't go saying it's the little guy crying foul about not getting a bonus this year. The problen is a bonus should have been on profit merit. The sales actually collected not the sales made because there is the customer who will not pay for months on end. If a bonus or raise was based for the salary and sales on profit per plant location and not just because IBC gives them out maybe there would be better mgmt.

Former IBC exec penalized for understating worker's comp reserves The ex-CFO is accused of deliberately understating reserves. By DAN MARGOLIES The Kansas City Star Interstate Bakeries Corp. ?s former chief financial officer deliberately understated the company?s workers? compensation reserves by at least $30 million, federal regulators charged in a complaint filed Wednesday. Paul E. Yarick ?disregarded the estimates of IBC?s future workers? compensation liabilities provided by its insurance consultant,? the Securities and Exchange Commission alleged in the complaint filed in federal court in Kansas City. Instead, Yarick used ?obsolete? and ?unreliable? information, as a result of which IBC overstated its pretax income in the second and third fiscal quarters of 2004, the complaint stated. Yarick, 67, has consented to the entry of a permanent injunction barring him from serving as an officer or director of any public company for the next five years. He has also agreed to pay a civil penalty of $50,000.

Oh, anyone know of some good hispanic help out there??

I agree with Davenport. There should be a mechanic on duty on Saturdays. And they shoiuld have a direct phone number to their department. The phone system on Saturday is a joke. my supervisor cant help me because he is always on a route. So I guess the next time I break down, I am just going to call my wife and have her come pick me up. My next phone call will be to the depot telling the thrift store girl where my truck is and let me know when its fixed.

Now that the union part has been brought up I will say this. Unions are usually put in place by workers who are mistreated at work. I would say that with the low amount of union workers in Flowers that it's probably a decent place to work. When I have worked union in the past I always knew going in that the company was pretty shitty towards their employees.....no matter what they say at interview time.

Heres the bottom line IBC. You have too many products, they are of mediocre to poor quality and it is over priced. jamming it on the market makes it even worse by selling old product and killing repeat sales. You are trying to save your way to a profit which can not happen even if you had good product. Give it up, it's not even funny anymore. J.C.

It would appear more and more that no one buyer will do it, and at least 1 of the 2 players that would be in a position to do so, is not of the inclination to do so... just for the reason you just stated... antique bakeries, mismanagement...and I insert-- union shops... food for thought

Flowers is a pretty wise company that has their act together so I couldn't see them even wanting to take on any of IBC's mismanaged antiquated bakeries. I do see them spreading farther out in the future though. They are a corporation that is like every other out there. If they see the possibility to make a good chunk somewhere they will. They won't need to build more bakeries just yet. They will just have to hire a truck driver or two and rent some warehouse space. I guess you might have misunderstood what I meant by a superstar. I was referring to them being a more extended company with a product that will take over the household name that Wonder currently holds.

Comment: The Union reference for Flowers was not for the edification of the consumer, but for the knowledge of the employees here. You are right that consumers would say \" DILLIGAF\" in regards to the unions, but it makes a MAJOR difference were Flowers to buy IBC, or any part thereof..

The last financials (2004-05) I could pull on IBC is that they had $3.404BIL in revenue.... The most recent 4 quarters for Flowers is $1.85BIL AND PROFITABLE........ I wouldnt stick to my guns were it not for the fact that IBC is NATIONAL... and Flowers is more REGIONAL ( they have NO plants north of the Mason-Dixon line and only 4 plants... Ft Smith AR, Texarkana AR, Denton TX and San Antonio TX ... that are west of the Mississippi River). Flowrs operates in 1/4 the geographic area as IBC and has over HALF IBC\'s revenue..... I think we both agree as to their potential, but I would submit they are already there as to being a major player

S-T-B-Ex-IBC-S - I wouldn't call them a superstar yet but for sure a rising star with tons of potential. Them being union or not is not the consumers concern. The fact that they can put out quality material and keep up with the changing needs of the customer within a reasonable time frame is making them what they are. If IBC had the sense to put out something decent and not 2 years after the customer demand falls off they wouldn't have to worry nearly as much as they do now.

IBC is just waiting to be blown the rest of the way out of the water. Flowers is going to be the next superstar IMO. Sara Lee is as big or bigger than they need to be due to cash restrictions.

Here's what happening next week in the nation's courts: Tuesday December,18 In Kansas City, Interstate Bakeries will ask Bankruptcy Judge Jerry W. Venters to intervene in its dispute with hedge fund Brencourt Advisors LLC over the makeup of the company's board of directors. Interstate wants an injunction to block a lawsuit filed by Brencourt, the company's largest shareholder, to force the maker of Hostess Twinkies and Wonder Bread to hold an annual meeting to choose a new board. The hedge fund wants a meeting so it can try to oust Interstate's current board, which it blames for the company's stalled reorganization under Chapter 11. Interstate says Brencourt shouldn't be allowed to seize control of its bankruptcy because shareholders are likely to be out of the money after the commercial baker pays off creditors. But Brencourt believes there is value for shareholders if the company gets new management. According to Interstate, its bank lenders have threatened to pull the plug on financing Interstate's Chapter 11 case if Brencourt gains control of the board.

Creditors and shareholders of Interstate Bakeries Corp. have agreed in principle to replace the company's existing board of directors with "new blood" to lead the maker of Hostess Twinkies out of bankruptcy. Finally somebody has listened. This is what we have been taking about since this BK started. Someone needs to carry this one step further and get rid of these dumb bastards that know nothing about Baking a loaf of Bread. I say lets start with Rick and Tim? This tag team needs to go. Does Tim even have a brain? It seems all he does is repeat bullshit that Rick says like a damn parrot. Anyway new board has my vote.

Their other subsidiaries produce tortillas, cookies, potato chips, gummy bears, chewing gum and other hard and soft confectionary candy. It could be asserted that they are a direct competitor to Mission Foods and Frito Lay as well as a number of hard pretzel makers. If you go to their webpage, you can see brands such as Tia Rosa and others which already enjoy national grocery store distribution. I know that brand from my local store here in the east , and the nearest tortilla plant to me is Texas and thats pretty much 1000 miles away. Bimbo already has 13 plants in the US, and all of them are either in TX or CA. With Bimbo... I dont think its a matter of IF they will expand, but WHEN. Its just my speculation here... but I personally think they are looking for an opprtunity to fall in their laps, just like Mrs. Bairds did in TX, which gave them a foothold into the TX,OK,MO,AR and LA markets. IBC could be such an opportunity, as it would give them instant national dominant presence, BUT.. and this is a big BUT.. they would probably have to divest some of their current holdings to get by Sherman Antitrust laws.. not too much unlike what CBC/IBC had to do when they merged. Bimbo runs a tight ship, and they would just as soon let the union walk than to be stuck with high overhead costs ESPECIALLY labor. It is my opinion that if Bimbo bought IBC, they would go through slashing the labor force like a wheat thresher...

Find one plant that is making a profit. Take ALL their department heads and district sales managers make them a training team and send them out to one plant that is struggling. Have the training team stay there for three months. Yes sometimes even after you become management there is room to learn. Give "loss" plant another 3 months to turn around.

Even though the last of the original Flowers family that sat on the BOD has now passed away, I still dont think Amos McMillian is of the mind to move Flowers into states where unionization the is the rule and not the exception. You MIGHT see them expand to the NE or upper Midwest, but IMHO, they wont do it unless they can serve the market from \"right to work\" states in doing so. Those guys are staunchly non-union. They pay well and give great bennies, and that has been what has kept the union out for the most part. I think, but cannot be absolute sure that they have the union in only 3 plants---Norfolk, Atlanta downtown( Bailey Street--the old Mid-Town baking co) and Bluefield WV and thats it......... As for who will be #1... my guess would be Grupo BImbo, as they are a HUGE multinational business.

The rest of their old Entemanns, Arnold and Oroweat plants are absolute SHITHOLES and most are even worse antiques than IBC\'s worst plants.....So.. if they have the $$... they sure arent spending it on their bakeries... EXACTLY WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT. SOUNDS LIKE I.B.C/ CBC ALL OVER AGAIN........

i am an employee here in this company for many years i have over 30 years experiance in this company. i here that i b c is still losing millions of dollars last month, when the hell are you morons going to learn how to run this company, i know what some of the problems are hopefully you will listen to a route driver who knows and cares about his job to try and help you,#1 STOP SELLING FRESH PRODUCT IN THE THRIFT STORES EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO LEAVE IT SIT IN THE BACK ROOM AFEW DAYS DO IT. IF YOU CAN GET A FRESH LOAF OF BREAD FOR HALF THE PRICE, THEN THE DELIS DONT NEED US#2 SUPERVISORS COME IN LATE GO HOME EARLY THEY DONT DO THERE JOB#3 INDEPENDANT MARKETS GO ON SALE BUT SOME STORES DONT PUT IT ON SALE WE LOSE MONEY example- ihave a store that does $1200.00 a week selling a lot of stone ground, it goes on sale for 2for $4.00 i sold him plenty of extra bread for the sale. I DID $9OO.00 THAT WEEK. my point is the only one who did good was the consumer and i worked twice as hard and lost money. we can not adjust prices any more. if a store sells an item great why put it on sale especially if it is not in there circuller. my point is someone should listen and learn what is going on please someone outhere get t. alverez to see this and respond in a way that maybe we can get this company back where it belongs #1 THANKYOU

Comment: Name: b.h.b.b.c. Date: 2006-12-17 Location: Location:Hodgkins, IL------------------------------------- I did watch the same episode. That bakery USED to be an old Mountain Home bakery when Flowers bought it about 25 yrs ago. They recently were able to purchase a swath of land from the city of Crossville that got them away from being land-locked. Flowers basically threatened to shut the plant down unless the city played ball. 7-8 years ago when Flowers/Invus bought Keebler, they used that cash cow to modernize the cake side you see on the TV program. Then Flowers divested Keebler, and used the cash they had left over after retiring their debt to knock out the back wall and build a bread/bun shop as well. The only plabts they have that are more state-of -the-art than Crossville... are their Denton TX plant (built 2 yrs ago or so) and their brand-spanking new Newton, NC plant, which only has the bun side running, but bread will be up by March.

I enjoyed my years there , and learned alot, that I carried on to my next job. You have been on this site for awile now, and have common sense. I would agree with you on almost all of your statements. I definitely agree with your statements about Flower's. They appear to be rising to the top( yesthere is a pun intended). I saw there route personnel , and also there mgt. is very knowledgeable. Probably the way IBC used to be run. I could care less if this company makes it or not . I just have been saying alot of the same things and these idiots do not want to wake up and smell the "Raspberry writing on the wall." Regardless of the outcome in the future, it will never be the same and these employees need to realize this. I am not trying to be ugly , but they have to face the truth , sooner or later. If not , then they will be in the unemployment line "Wondering", why they did not leave sooner.

we have been watching the back and forth on this site about flowers and bimbo vs. ibc. there is a program on the history channel called "modern marvels". this particular episode was dedicated to the baking industry. flowers foods was given the vast majority of the exposure time on the program. wonder's exposure was limited to maybe, and we mean maybe, 5 minutes, and it ended with a that fatass dan angst babbling about who-knows-what. on the other hand, flowers foods look like they have their shit together when it comes to production, sanitation and logistics. so, that having been said we think that ultimately it will be flowers who will one day be known as the world's largest baker. bimbo may be in the mix, but we think they don't have what it takes right now to be significant nationwide, although you never know. weston, well they've been here and always will be. and by the way, weston has boatloads of money. they just choose not to spend it on a dumpster like ibc...

I have preached this for the past two years on this site. ----------------------- Hey Razz... it seems to be more of a sport here to play the game ----shoot the messenger--- and that is OK by me. I handle Neanderthals on a daily basis and gladly correct myself if someone shows me that I am wrong. I never have claimed to be all-knowing nor am I all-seeing, but one thing is for sure. I can impartially see IBC as a whole, and I REALLY dont see what will bring them back from the brink of self-destruction. The problem with the company is not just management though they HAVE made some really BONEHEADED decisions. The problem is not just with the rank-and-file, though when you see on this board that going on strike or some feigned --workmans comp-- illness is their answer to getting IBC out of bankruptcy, you have to pause and wonder (no pun intended).................... Let them keep on with their death-throe kicks, as they appear to never be able to see the forest for the trees, and until they do, they are, IMHO, dead men walking. IF.. and I do mean IF... IBC ever comes out of this, the company wont resemble its former self in most ways, shapes and forms. If IBC were smart, they would cull the malcontents and form a core of dedicated workers whose mission is to make IBC a stronger company, and not piss in the wind because it happens to be blowing in the direct they want. The unions should be involved as well. They need to realize that its not just a membership numbers game, and that if the union would come to the table with ideas and the dedicated manpower to implement them, the union will only grow and flourish as a result. As it stands now, it would appear that many of their members want to blame everyone else for problems they helped make, and they absolutely refuse to be part of the solution, as they just want to be part of the problem........ It is sad indeed that the corporate culture within IBC is this way. It is from the top down to the lowest entry level worker. Until this culture is changed systemically, IBC is doomed, IMNSHO.

With the numerous Bakeries in California the oportunities for jumping ship is more easily done. I know of three more upper managers who are currently negotiating and may be jumping ship by early next year. The new IBC attitude is they can replace you with anyone, even if they don't know the job. And they are paying these idiots more then the current managers in the current positions. We have and are going to lose many years of experience before this is over.

NO!... Heiners sold their HUNTINGTON WV plant to Sara Lee.. not Parkersburg----- As for Flowers.. YOU have the head in the ass there Sparky, as they are SWIMMING in cash after divesting Keebler and retiring their debt. Until a few years ago, Flowers HAD a plant in Fresno they got as part of an aquisition, and of couse it was a Union plant.. and YEP.. it got shut down. Flowers grows not by building NEW plants, but buying up capacity and SHUTTING DOWN OLD ones. If you even bother to read what I wrote, I said Bimbo would move the production to Mexico( or at minimum under Mexcian control). I agree, THEY WOULD be your player in the SW and West coast. They already bought Mrs. Bairds in TX and a Best Foods plant in Denver and already have a presence in the SW and California that they can absorb IBC into. If you ALSO bothered to read what I wrote, I said Sara Lee aint got the $$. George Weston SURELY doesnt have the $$$, so who does that leave for the heartland and the east coast.... you got it... FLOWERS, which can absorb FL into their existing 4 plants, GA into their existing 6 plants, NC into their existing 4 plants, VA into their 2 existing plants ( plus Bluefield WV), Louisiana into their existing 3 plants and TN into their existing 2 plants. Why in God\'s name would ANYONE not in the bread business buy a labor-bloated leviathon such as IBC??? That is foolishness in its extreme!!...... SO..... we are back where we started........ the only 2 REALISTIC saviours for an IBC buy-out are Bimbo and Flowers, and neither of those 2 are of the mind to keep open non-strategic exorbitant fixed-cost plants that IBC is LOADED with, which in ANY way you look at it, does NOT forbode a good omen to the average IBC rank-and-file worker.. THAT is unrefutable.......PS.. I was waiting for the snide \"fat cow and drunk bitch\" comments that were sure to flow from you.. thanks for having thought better of it...:o) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I work at the Tulsa Wonder Bakery and I do care what we put out and the Moron's who don't care are jerks. If you bought it at the 71st street store I don't not know if we make for this store, but Flowers makes for the south store. If you think it is a lof of Wonder PLEASE call the bakery, talk to the Sales Manager Richard Samples or the Plant Manager Jim Hutton, or the Production Manager Doug Greer - they do care.

Comment: Hello, Hopefully some can answer my question. My husband recently bought a loave of sandwich bread (white). After several slices were removed I noticed that the rest of the sliceshad HUGE HOLES almost all the way through, this in my opinion was terrible and called Wal-Mart to complain, the Manager told me that Wal-Mart did not produce their own bread. He assured me that Wonder supplied them and that they would gladly replace it. Is all of WONDER\'s BREAD of this poor in quality ?? It would seem to me that with all of your new modern tools/ equipment a better loaf could and should be put on the shelf. Hope some could give me an answer !! I live in Broken Arrow, Ok and I assume this bread is made in the Tulsa Area. Thank you, for listening. A concerned customer.

Who do we write to, to thank for giving us our 12% pay raise? Due to our Health and Welfare benefits increasing 12% and them not passing this increase onto us, How Nice of Them being that we have not gotten a raise I'm sure they figured out that if they did pass this increase onto us that a lot of us would surely leave. You know if we ever come out of this BK and they start to give out raises again we will be hit with this increase big time?

Does anybody have any experience with the Labor Board. Seems like we have a lot of instances of unfair labor practices with individuals getting paid a higher salary and having very little experience over the more senior manager in the same position? Seems like this would be a good case for the Labor Board to take on. Seems like either a Discrimination, Unfair Labor Pactice or Age Discrimination case.

I was waiting for the snide \"fat cow and drunk bitch\" comments that were sure to flow from you.. thanks for having thought better of it...:o)

WHO THEY WONT NEED?????? YOU!!!! You are living in a dreamworld if you think the little guy will just waltz into the new owner and pick up where they left off....it AINT gonna happen. WHY?? Because they ALREADY HAVE transport drivers... they ALREADY HAVE route guys and Dist.Centers.. They ALREADY HAVE loaders, and the baking industry has been in an excess capacity mode for over a DECADE, so they darn well dont need bakers either. This is a bitter reality pill people REALLY need to think about. If someone buys IBC, they will keep open the plants that have strategic importance to them, and all the rest will shut down and their production and distribution will be absorbed into the new owners ALREADY EXISTING networks and capabilities. If you are holding onto that pipe dream, you will be in for a RUDE awakening. Look at what closed when Nissen was bought. Look at what closed when the Parkersburg, WV plant of Heiners( I think they were the last owners pre-Flowers) was bought by Flowers. Same thing for Big Bear in southern Ohio. Look at Parisian in San Fran...Look At Grand Junction and Pueblo, CO... ALL of these plants.. and I do mean ALL of them were UNION plants....

Comment: To Jimmy----- I AM up with what people are saying here. Sure SOAR has been a disaster. I think we can ALL agree on that, but what I am saying is at least someone TRIED, albeit a very hair-brained idea. It was a better idea than this so-called \"strike\" people are calling for now. At least someone tried to do something about IBC\"s situtaion instead of sitting here and bitching about everyone else but themselves. Let them strike, and IBC will be Chapter 7, not 11 and everyone will be out a job. Flowers buys you, and you wont have a union at all as they shut down union plants when they purchase them... Bimbo buys you and the production moves to Mexico.... Sara Lee cant buy you, as they have lost considerable amounts of $$ as well and cant afford you. People here need to stop and think.....If they arent part of the solution, then they damned well are part of the problem. Fix the attitude problem of the rank-and-file, as well as MANAGEMENT, and you guys will be a long way towards coming out of Chapter 11 without having to sell the company many of you have dedicated most of your adult lives to.... Food for thought... ISNT THAT SPECIAL.

What to do if you work in a hostile work environment BOB ROSNER - Thursday, May 11, 1999 Dear Working Wounded: I really like my job, but I can?t stand my boss. He?s always using vulgar language and making me the butt of his jokes during staff meetings. NOT ONE OF THE GUYS Dear NOT, Your boss reminds me of the guy who recently tried to steal gas from a mobile home. According to Darwin Awards.com, Seattle police found him curled up next to the vehicle in a puddle of raw sewage. Apparently, instead of putting his hose into the gas tank, he stuck it into the vehicle?s sewage container . . . . Well, it sounds like your boss can get a little slimy, too. But instead of fueling his career, he, too, may find himself flattened. Courts have ruled that the behavior you describe creates a "hostile work environment" and that workers need not tolerate it. The tips below should help you determine if, in fact, your worksite is "hostile." For more information, check out "Work Smarts For Women" by Patti Paniccia (Ballantine, 2000). Are you experiencing discrimination, intimidation, ridicule or insults? Think that sexual harassment means a coworker can?t keep his hands off you? Think again. According to the courts, harassment includes a wide range of words and actions that are merely sex-based. You don?t have to be propositioned to be harassed. If you encounter discrimination, intimidation, ridicule or insults, you should talk to your HR department, union, or a lawyer. What would a "reasonable woman" think? For years, the courts used the "reasonable man" standard to determine if a woman had been sexually harassed. (Well, they were run by a bunch of guys; what did you expect?) Fortunately, they?ve wised up. These days, if you think a "reasonable woman" would think you?re being harassed, you should take your case to HR, the union or a lawyer. (Sorry, the "reasonable man" standard still applies to male harassment victims.) What is the frequency and severity of the behaviour? A lot of little things can add up to a claim of sexual harassment-IF you can document them. So keep a diary with the date and description of each occurrence. Does the behavior "alter the conditions of employment"? Paniccia reports that you don?t need to have a nervous breakdown to prove you?ve been harmed. The courts will look at such things as: was the behaviour physically threatening? Did it humiliate you? Did it interfere with your ability to do your job? Did it affect your psychological well-being? What if the harasser is "just joking"? Bad news for any harassers out there: what?s funny to you isn?t funny to the courts. Your motives don?t matter. Keep it up, and eventually the joke will be on you.

Henderson - who is left there to run the place? I heard that the ones who didn't leave yet are being run off by that Sara Lee reject Rick. What happened to Cothran? I thought he would have become Chief when Chris left. Is Tom Anderson still there doing nothing, or did they make him take over both sides like he should have? I can't believe that they have left Grovner and both the Wilsons in their jobs. I guess it is because they still have other plants to ruin before they are done.

To the Union idiots who want to strike. First of all please learn to spell and use the English language properly. No wonder you are stuck in this job, to bad you never paid attention in grade/high school and could not get into college and get a degree so you could have a real job with real pay and benefits. Secondly, if you are dumb enough to walk out then you violate the contract and the Judge will have no choice to back up the Company and we will close your worthless facilities and move production to the more efficient plants around the PC?s. So please do have a wildcat strike, we in the Corporate Office will be laughing all the way to the Courts and enjoying the fact that we can eliminate the dead weight in this Company and not have to pay severance packages ro unemployment benefits. We will become a leaner meaner Company one way or another and IBC will survive. Once that part is completed we all will be buying Stock back in this Company, since it will all be re-issued since the old stock certificates will be declared worthless. Basically it will be like an initial offering for the stock and we all will be very rich when we are done.

Plus the extras received from our vendors are a nice touch at this time of the year. See you all in ( or at least some of you) in 2007.

We have had it with the Corporate Idiots telling us what to do and destroying our quality products. So here is the deal - WALK OUT UNTIL THEY GIVE US WHAT WE DESERVE - MORE MONEY. Why should these idiots both plant management and corporatre management get year end bonuses and we get nothing. STRIKE STRIKE STRIKE STRIKE. Production is out then sales has no choice to honor the strike - no product. To you idiots in KC you will not know until we walk so good luck preparing the stike workers. I thought he would have become Chief when Chris left. Is Tom Anderson still there doing nothing, or did they make him take over both sides like he should have? I can't believe that they have left Grovner and both the Wilsons in their jobs. I guess it is because they still have other plants to ruin before they are done.

Dickery is trying to backstab Dock and no one knows where the hell the paychecks are. we always said that baker's inn would never be able to compete with the likes of Brownberry Bread. (sold in other markets under the names friehoffers and arnolds.) these are Weston products, and they are good. in this area, Brownberry is king. just ask all the yuppies, the seniors, the health nuts, and the moms looking for a healthy loaf of bread to feed their families. bye-bye bakers inn...

To Anon in KC: You are absolutely right about concentrating on what they were good at. They use to be able to produce a loaf of bread and dominate the market. Are you telling me that if they produce a $3.00 loaf that noone wants to buy , then it will be more profitable? ONLY if someone is willing to buy it. The company has alway's made money on mass production of snack cakes and bread. They should have got rid of Dolly Madison when they could have. The reason why I say this is that Hostess alway's said that it was not profitable enough to produce our snack cakes. "Maybe" , it was those stupid prison contracts, school's, vendor's and so forth. Now they are packaging Dolly under the Hostess label, albeit about seven years too late. I have alway's tried to figure out the idiot syncrasies of the way they operated . Oh well , pretty soon it will all be over...

Bakers Inn is going to save the Company, so say's Mr. Alvarez. With more then 45% stale on this product I think it may be time to move on. This company keeps losing money every month, unless of course they sell some realestate. If people have not found were the Bakers Inn is by now after 1 1/2 years, I don't think they are going to find it at all.

Re: Any More Bright Ideas? You are right , the biggest problem this campany has is the stupid ass's coming up with dumb ideas like Bakers Inn. Anyone who has been in the baking industy for more than day or two knows that what people look for from a mass producer of bake goods is good cheap products. Anyone looking to spend 3.00+$'s for a loaf of bread buys it at a in store bakery or a place like that. What this company needs to do is concentrate on making a loaf of sliced bread that is good enough to feed your kids a damn samwhich without putting you in the poorhouse!

December 6, 2006 KANSAS CITY, Mo. --Interstate Bakeries Corp., the bankrupt maker of Twinkies and Wonder bread and the owner of J.J. Nissen bakery in Biddeford, Maine, said Wednesday its monthly loss grew 34 percent in October on flat sales and costs. For the four weeks ending Oct. 21, the Kansas City-based company said it lost $10.1 million on sales of $222.6 million. In September, the company lost $7.5 million on $226 million in revenue. Costs of goods sold and other operating expenses during October increased slightly from the previous month to $223.7 million. During the same period a year ago, the company reported a loss of $19 million on sales of $231.8 million. The U.S. Bankruptcy Court has required monthly reports from Interstate Bakeries since the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September 2004.

Glendale Trivia. Handlebar mustasho name was Jim Ferguson. How about dumb bastard who took his place came from Minot or Billings who was missing his index finger on his left hand and lost all his fingers on his right hand except for his thumb? Lost all these digits trying to clear a jam on a Pan-O-Mat Bun Machine. Being that we could not glue all his fingers back on IBC promoted him to Regional Production Manager, Its no wonder how he got his job?

Could you please get a sell-by date LEGIBLY STAMPEDon ALL product packages. The Baker's Inn products have NO other method by which to determine the age of the product. 2. What a shame that WalMart offers 5 facings for Wonder Bagels yet the shelf goes empty every week because the Bakery doesn't supply enough. 3. Great Value Sandwich wheat bread. Sales of it have plummeted to less than 3 dozen loaves per diem at the Morris super WalMart. People comment that you've changed the recipe and the bread has no flavor. Your comments? 4. Great Value split-top wheat is another huge seller. Many people have asked why you stopped supplying the Great Value split-top white. Your comments? 5. Great Value Hog Dog buns..Many of the packages are slit open along the right side. 6. Your Wonder 20-oz loaves are not the quality they used to be. They are misshapen, under or over baked, Can you work harder at perfection? It's the bread I grew up on; our family of 6 consumed 1 loaf of Wonder bread per day, but the slices were always even and perfect. I'd appreciate your comments where indicated. Thank you. I can answer all your questions and comments on one lie, If you don't like our product get it from somebody else, Or deal with it. Have a nice day.

Someone please tell me why Charlie Smith was back in our bakery yesterday. He and Ken Peters were acting like Charlie was still in charge of the plant. Charlie was even seen in his old office with the accounting manager playing old office games. If this a$$ is coming back then i QUIT.

Razz, any job is what you make of it.We are lucky that we are paid well. It may be over,it may not but,it will be on the backs of those who always wanted to make twice as much.We are a bakery not a computer chip company. BAKERY=LOW PROFIT MARGINS,but yet we have all done pretty well. Two years of bankruptcy can not fix all those years of problems overnight. I am not pissy Pete, I am realistic Pete and you are a RAZZHOLE. HAPPY HOLIDAYS RAZZ,I hope your golf injury improves,I hear your club is too small and your grip to tight

Who is in-charge of the Glendale Distribution? Seems like couple of Jail Birds who don't have any clue running the department . How about this when an assistant thinks he is a manager parks in the managers parking spot and comes in at 10:00am and goes home at 3:00pm. With two shifts at Glendale plant do we need three assistants in distribution. Lets cut back and save money now.

"would you hypnotise your kid into walking into 18 wheeler doing 75 mph?" - C'mon get real!! If you really believe this, you need a mental health professional. "would you slowly poison your father to get his nuts and bolt bussiness and run it into the ground..." - Give the guy a break, will you? He's a mechanic, these guys take for ever to do anything. I don't think he meant to do it slow, its just the way these guys work. "It's my mission to see him fired put in jail etc etc etc" - Man, you have been watching way too many James Bond movies! How long have you been this delusional? Maybe you need to call-in sick and go see a Shrinkcologist.

Comment: Name: underscore Date: 2006-12-02 Location: Location:Buffalo, NY Comment: Wife was in the bread isle of a store today. Overheard manager telling another that Sara Lee would be taking over the Wonder space in April. The other person asked about private label. Manager told him they would be supplying that also. Makes sense. A sale of part of the company would help get out of chapter 11, and Sara Lee would have a nice route structure to start moving again.------------------------------------- There is one SLIGHT problem to the theory here.. Sara Lee already bought the Sunbury and Northumberland, PA plants of ButterKrust Bakery early this year or late last year. They can supply the store shelf space without buying a darn thing from IBC. You are absolutely correct that they have an EXCELLENT route structure, but they now also have physical plant assets close to your market, thus the need to \"buy\" anything becomes a moot point...

Quote - "John Benson stop protecting your butt buddy your as much of an ass as he is." I am not in a position to be able to protect anyone. I am just trying to prove a point that you guys are not writting anything that is substantiating that this guy is a bad manager. All you guys are doing is attacking him at a personal level and attacking his family; they have not done absolutely nothing to you guys. They are not responsible for your unhappiness. Leave them out of of this place, they do not deserve the bashing you people give them. If you feel this guy is a bad manager, let's hear the reasons why you people feel this way.
