There are no innocents here, just some poor slobs trying to make money to feed and raise their famillies. If the union is there serving a purpose, so be it. I trully doubt that IBC is a benevolent benefactor. They are more than willing to pay themselves first and leave crumbs for you if allowed to.

Comment: At one time in my work life of some 50+ years now, I thought about the fact of allowing crooked and corrupt labor unions like the Bakers and the Teamsters, into my workplace as an acceptable form to bear, simply for the resemblance to a fair and equitable balance of equal forces between my employer and myself in determining employee wages, hours and working conditions. It was then that I realized I would be better off working as a lost soul in the Christian race and facing Hell itself rather than to allow such creatures of the Devil to willingly co-exist beside me as my exclusive representative on earth. Labor unions today are driven by the same forces that drive any other form of big business today, namely Big Bucks! And, for the most part, they are manned by the lowest forms of human life on earth!

wtf. i know the voting is over so be ite to turn attention to hoping to make a living even with concessions. but what burns my fucking ass is that dumb fucking letter from management about holiday thanks and thanking for overwelming support. EVERYONE IN HIS FUCKING RIGHT MIND KNOWS THEY WON CONCESSIONS BY SCARING EVERYONE ABOUT SELLING AND OR CLOSING DOWN. AND EVEN IN THE BAKERYS WEHRE THERE WAS A NO VOTE. THEY FORCED THEM TO REBID.(UNION REPS) IF THE VOTE WAS STILL NO THEN THEY WOULD (USE YOUR IMAGINATION) CLOSE BAKERIES DOWN. HOW THE FUCK IS THIS ALLOWED IN THE LAW. HOW CAN COMPANPIES THREAT AND GET AWAY WITH THIS SHIT? AGAIN ITS TIME TO MOVE ON. BUT THIS DOES BUG THE CRAP OUT OF ME. NO WONDER PEOPLE TALK ABOUT SOCIALISM. I WOULD CALL IT DICTATORSHIP. WE GOT OUR XMAS PRESENT GIVING THESE JERKS. OUR HARD EARNED MONEY GOES TO A COMPANY WHO WANT S TO CUT AS MANY JOBS AS POSSIBLE.

Comment: Cerberus Capital Investment took a market hit after buying Chrysler recently and now is hoping for a taxpayer bailout to save them from swallowing millions of dollars in a losing enterprise. This is the one to watch folks, because if they should succeed, then American free-enterprise no longer lives in America. It has been replaced with stupid Socialism wherein government now reigns over the Constitution that created it over some two-hundred and thirty years earlier.

To Anon in Buffalo: I think Volpe WILL let Ripplewood sell the routes: as long as the Union's cash cow (UPS) gets a deal. Look for them to do the drop shipping instead of our drivers. IBC was always a thorn for the Union and this is the way to kill two birds with the proverbial one Ho-Ho, er stone. Doesn't look good for us as RSR's. Of course if you have a nice route, you've kept it up and you want to buy it.... maybe it won't be so bad.

Don't know if it's true or rumor. But there were meetings held this week regarding geography in our area. Also, pretty strong vibes that packers/loaders are finished prior to Christmas. Another union job lost. And I'm sure the RSR's will be non-union in the end. The world has been handed over to the greedy, also known as CEO's. Experienced people, drivers or not, will have to just move on.

The new routes were structured stricly by GPS so they are geographically compact. That is the only way you can sell routes by territory. Otherwise they would have to sell by stop which would mean all new stops would not belong to anyone specific and an owner/operator could not be forced to serve it so if a new stop such as a gas station opened no one would want it and couldn't be forced to serve it. Using the GPS we would have to buy a geographic area and the contract will require us to serve it.

damage caused by the financial excesses of the last quarter century was forcing the world's authorities to take steps that had never been tried before. This gamble is likely to end in one of two extreme ways: Either a resurgence of inflation; or a downward spiral into depression, civil disorder, and possibly wars. Both outcomes will cause a rush for gold.

Saturday night was for wives...Friday at the Copa was for the girlfriends.........WE SEE KAREN waiting at booth as HENRY pulls up. INT. HENRY'S CAR KAREN (crying and disheveled. I've known him all my life. He. just started grabbing at me. He wouldn't stop. And when I hit him across the nose with my shoe, he got mad and shoved me over.......HENRY's car is parked at the curb. A new red Corvette is parked across the street. HENRY Go inside. I'll be right there.....KAREN What are you gonna do?......HENRY Get inside!.......When KAREN gets out of the car, WE SEE HENRY reach under the seat for a snub-nose .38 revolver.....WE SEE HENRY walk down driveway to the backyard area where BRUCE and TWO of his BROTHERS are talking. BRUCE sees HENRY and walks toward him. BRUCE'S TWO BROTHERS are smirking. BRUCE What do you want? They get closer. BRUCE (annoyed and menacing) Hey! Fucko! You want something? With absolutely no warning, HENRY reaches out and grabs BRUCE's hair with one hand and pulls his gun out of his waistband with the other. In almost one motion, HENRY Smashes the gun across BRUCE's face. Teeth fall from BRUCE's mouth. The TWO BROTHERS, still not seeing the gun, start toward HENRY, but HENRY continues to pound the gun into BRUCE'S face like a dinner gong. BRUCE's head is still off the ground only because HENRY refuses to let go of his hair. BRUCE'S BROTHERS realize HENRY has a gun. They freeze and back off. WOMAN'S VOICE (from a window) HELP! Police! He's got a gun! Police! Quick! Murder! HENRY drops BRUCE to the ground.

And darkness was upon the face of the Workers. And the workers spoke among themselves, saying, "This is a crock of shit, and it stinks." And the Workers went unto their Supervisors and said, "It is a pail of dung, and we can't live with the smell." And the Supervisors went unto their Managers, saying, "It is a Container of excrement, and it is very strong, such that none may abide by it." And the Managers went unto their Directors, saying, "It is a vessel of fertilizer, and none may abide its strength." And the Directors spoke among themselves, saying to one another, "It contains that which aids plant growth, and it is very strong." And the Directors went to the Vice Presidents, saying unto them, "It promotes growth, and it is very powerful." And the Vice Presidents went to the President, saying unto him, "This new plan will actively promote the growth and vigor of the company with very powerful effects." And the President looked upon the Plan and saw that it was good. And the Plan became Policy. And that is how shit happens.

Brock said he ONLY plusses for a reason. If that were true it should mean he was on the market and "sold" a display. You CANNOT sit at a desk and know what a route needs. If the plus it was for a legitamate reason, he should have discussed it with the rsr to make sure the space is available and the rsr doesn't alredy have something ordered for that space. So Brock is full of shit, as usual. If Brock were to perform his job correctly, his rsr would have known about the plus in advance and know exactly where to sell that product. It seems as though fat ass Brock just sits behind a desk and plusses to routes and the rsr has no idea what Brock expects you to do with that product.

TEAMBROCK.. We really don't care about your list or what you think, so shut up. By the way, if we want to cut something you or anyone else added, we will !! IBC wants the pay cuts to be kept in confidence because they realize the once highly sought after positions are now just average paying jobs. So if you feel you can replace everyone so easily why don't you try?? You can choose between experienced rsr's who don't care or hire all new rsr's. Either way no one gives a damn anymore.

The BCTGM members had a meeting in Columbus, Ga. on Novenber 16th to vote for the consessions. The vote was 27 Yes and 88 No. The company sent in our regional HR rep. to hold meetings in the plant conference room with EVERY hourly employee and the plant manager. In groups of 20 or so. After his speech the HR rep. and the plant manager left the room and all non-union employees were asked to leave. The union rep. gave a speech and we were asked to sign a petition to accept the consessions. The exact count was not revealed but a notice went up Friday the 21st to the effect that we had passed the consessions by a majority vote. Does anyone out there really believe that IBC is going to let over $500 million walk out their door over any vote any where?

TEAMBROCK - "The biggest morale boost I know is a BIGGER paycheck." I might agree with that statement. That will explain the morale with the $140+ weekly pay cut coming to go along with pay/benefit cuts already given back. There aren't enough hours in the day to make up for that. For damn sure your touted GIVE 2 ain't going to cut it. Please go back to your office and continue to watch porno on your computer. You're an embarrassment and a joke to most intelligent route sales people as well as most management. Hell, I'll wager your even an embarrassment to your parents!

TEAMBROCK - You have got to be an embarrassment to management. I, too resent "windshield time" so why am I required to drive 20 miles one way out of my way to service a $50.00 a week stop just because another route has a similar stop which is profitable for HIM? And you have the BALLS to suggest my "windshield time" shouldn't be included in my day? You are one reason there is so much animosity towards many in management and another reason why this continued type of attitude will bankrupt this company. Oh, I almost forgot, we're already there! There will be a new directive coming out and commencing Nov 29. The new rule will read "All transport vehicles, including route trucks MUST be shut down while not en-route. Trucks must not be allowed to "idle" while awaiting dispatch or in cue at the marketplace. This will save the company millions of dollars in fuel costs and reduce pollutants into the enviroment which contibutes to global warming. By following this simple procedure, every driver can contribute to the bottom line of the "NEW IBC" and help us emerge from bankruptcy.

Well in reading through all of the posts and comments im glad to see your all in this together standing side by side in your brotherhood of union. It is also obvious that many feel this situation is still a game or that purhaps that you feel that a union of your union can run IBC out of its own business. Even better yet that when the due date for the courts comes the option for another baking company can still come in and buy and save the day.Sadly in all cases you are wrong. All companies doing business with cigna are experiencing rate increases not just IBC. Many companies offer only two weeks a year for vacation ONLY. The good times are not as good as they used to be anywhere. In this week only citi bank layed off 53,000 people. The big three are soon to follow at yes union plants . Comunities are crumbling due to the economy. While its true IBC and its problems started long before it will only make it more difficult in its search for a solution. Im sure there are far worse places to work making a whole lot less. The next time your at work ask yourself if for the time being is $80 a month worth a $500 dollar a week trade? If you come up with that answer easily look around you and answer that question for your friends and the families. Jobs are not growing on trees ANYWHERE ! The job market is very cruel and tough out there. There are people with very handsome resumes out there looking for work, how does yours stack-up?

Kansas City........You're dead wrong about me being Boonville. He was just an arrogant, self serving, management stooge promoting the company line to all who were willing to listen to his attempts to spread discord amongst the union membership. I'll admit our union leaders made his job much easier by some of their questionable tactics. I'm just a rsr hoping to make it through till retirement and am almost there. Thus my concern about the security of our pension plans. I want to know where I stand and unfortunately we do not always get the correct information even from our union. I hope all are able to make to retirement as is promised but you can trust that if there is a way for you to be screwed out of it, they'll find it!

Charlotte........I am Teamster rsr. You are mistaken in believing that because IBC is up to date on their contributions on your behalf, therefore your pension is secure. Many pension funds are currently underfunded, that is they do not have money to pay all current promised benefits even though they have been receiving contributions correctly. For example, I am aware that the Central States fund is below a 46% funding level, meaning they only have enough in their fund to pay approx 46% of their promised benefits and in danger of being taken over by the government (PBGC). (Pension Benefit Guarantee Co) There are some Teamster funds at substantially higher funding levels though most are in trouble. Many funds have suffered substantial losses in the recent stock market decline where they invest their assets. Laws enacted in 2006 help to protect pension benefits in many cases but until IBC emerges from bankruptcy will have little effect on our plans. You have to know the funding level of your fund (the fund administrator is required to give it to you) to understand how secure it is. Not trying to put a damper on anything but need to be vigilant so there are no unpleasant surprises when it comes time to retire.

Florence...........Sorry to burst YOUR bubble, but I was referring to the TEAMSTER pension fund. You need to check out the facts with someone other than the union as they will not tell you that their underfunded pension obligations are subject to takeover by PBGC and subject to to government regulations which set a MAXIMUM pension guarantee of approx. $13,000 per yr on MULTI-EMPLOYER pension plans which is what you are in. I am in a Teamster plan also and have researched for the correct information so I can be aware of where my pension plan is. The Teamsters have about 30 different plans and not all are in danger but most are. You need to check your specific plan for its current funding status. They are required to give you written notification of their funding status annually and they generally send you an annual statement filled with glowing promises along with the specifics which most people overlook. Lots of people naively think that because the union is collecting contributions from employers their pension is "safe". They are wrong as the airline and steelworkers union members along with many others have found out! At least be informed.

The Supreme Court could hand President-elect Barack Obama a delicate problem in the coming days: What to do with a suspected al-Qaida sleeper agent who is the only person detained in this country as an enemy combatant?Ali al-Marri has been held in virtual isolation in a Navy brig near Charleston, S.C., for nearly 5 1/2 years. He is challenging President Bush's authority to subject a legal resident of the United States to indefinite military detention without being charged or tried. The justices are expected to consider al-Marri's case when they meet in private on Tuesday. If they agree to hear arguments, over the Bush administration's opposition, they could say so the same day.Bush's legal team has claimed authority for such detentions and has argued aggressively for it in court papers. But the case would not be scheduled for argument until sometime in the late winter or early spring, during Obama's first months in office.

WASHINGTON - The top U.S. military officer said Tuesday the Pentagon is developing plans to get troops quickly out of Iraq and into Afghanistan to battle a more confident and successful Taliban. Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the AP in an interview that the military has already identified and practiced traveling out of Iraq along exit routes through Turkey and Jordan to determine "what the challenges might be." The governments in those two countries, he said, have supported that effort. While he was careful to note that he is still following the orders of President Bush, Mullen said he was clearly aware of President-elect Barack Obama's battle plan to withdraw from Iraq in 16 months.

WASHINGTON - U.S. President-elect Barack Obama said on Saturday that he was crafting an aggressive, two-year stimulus plan to revive the troubled economy, warning that swift action was needed to prevent a deep slump and a spiral of falling prices. "If we don't act swiftly and boldly, most experts now believe that we could lose millions of jobs next year," Obama said in prepared remarks for the weekly Democratic radio and video address. "We now risk falling into a deflationary spiral that could increase our massive debt even further," he said.

The Wizard of Id and the King walked out on the balcony just after sunrise. A large group of peasants had formed, carrying pitchforks, torches and the like. You see, the King had just raised taxes yet again and all the gold was going to the king 'for the benefit of the kingdom'. Now the group was growing quite large and the Wizard commented, "Your Highness, the peasants are revolting." The King looked out over the large crowd with a sneer on his face and replied, "Yes, they are. What's for breakfast?" And they retreated from the balcony.

Look at the Financial mess of wll street. how long do you think those billions have been missing? this did not happen over night but one day we wake up and we are in a financial crisis? not likely.

Charlotte.............Don't count your pension before you receive it! It is a MULTI-EMPLOYER pension fund of which only about 1/3 is backed by the government (PBGC - approx $13,000 yr. MAXIMUM - guarantee). Hate to burst your bubble but many members are seriously deluded into thinking their pension is FULLY backed by the government when in fact it is not. ONLY single-payer pensions are fully backed by PBGC. United Airlines union pensioners thought the same thing until they found out the hard way. Same for steelworkers.

I know we have our problems, but we are working them out. with the New IBC coming forth I see a better workplace for you people, and if you have been there 25 years why not retire??? all you people complaining about the company why stay there??? this has been going on for years and yet no one evers leaves!!! just complain and cry everday about how bad the company is, fuc--- QUIT the bakery will run without you. Leave Bill Marsh alone he is a good man and a good boss, he cares!! more than our last production manager ever did!! go cry to someone else all you want to do is keep the employees in an uproar!! take it or get out. too many cry babies in the plant!!!

We dont know what goes on behind closeds doors. Why this or that happens. Not sure what your golfing gripe is about, we all know the majority of buisness decissions in this country are made on the golf course. Take up golf and maybe you can get somewhere in life too. Not sure who THOSE people are, but as far as relatives go im sure he hired the best people for the job relative or not. When you become a plant manajor you can do the same. Dont know him personally but i dont see any plant manajor or assistant just "letting good product run in the floor" as you claim. Maybe a few years ago but not now with all the new rules and paper work we fill out every day. This company is fighting for its life and every $ counts or havent you noticed? We have been making cuts everywhere to make this company profitable. Its all about being efficient. I doubt there is many place we havent drasticly cut/changed/reorganized. This is not the old IBC we are the New IBC.

LIke I said before, when he was in Florence we did better than before he and after he came back. we had a super that made the employees DO their job (including his KIN) He wasnt a golfer so he was at the plant to see what was goin on with production. we had less down time and better product while he was out with his wife sick ( and by the way I knew Linda and she was a great person, I hate that shes gone, her death was a tragedy and I mean that sincerely) He stands back and lets good product run in the floor while his employees goof off while we bag crap to try and sell on the shelf, and the ones taking up for him on here are probably some of THOSE people or his relatives.

Well its been an eventful few weeks at the knox bakery. Vote,Revote and somewhere in between trying to make some bread. Alot of people are pissed off both ways. Because they voted yes and have to take a pay cut or because they voted know and have to take a paycut. This is causing lost time and cripples and i dont see it getting better. As far as the other posters in Knox goes, Bill Marsh IS the knoxville bakery love him or hate, him doesnt really matter he is the knoxville bakery no matter who has the plant manager tag, and i say this with the utmost respect to Mike C. All roads run through Bill M. union and management. As the saying goes a fly cant fart in the plant without him knowing about it. Up till the contract vote cripples were down and quality was up, well see if it stays that way. When he does finaly retire Knoxville will never be the same.

I love to see people pointing their fingers and trying to blame the RSR for this companies downfall. Add up our yearly losses then subtract the salaries and bonuses of all of the executives. It's eye-opening to say the least. Then you have the company blaming the economy when we are in what is essentially a recession proof business. More and more people are eating at home rather than spending their money going out to eat. Is the company taking advantage of this, of course not. This company will react to this economic opportunity after it has passed just as they have on every opportunity over the last 25 years. A company that is inflexible to market changes is a company that dies a slow death. The blame is at the top people, you don't fire the soldiers when a general doesn't get the job done. Corporate America needs to Man-Up and start taking responsibility. It is coporate America that needs to take responsibility for providing goog paying jobs to their citizens so the economy can grow. They might find a bigger bottom line.

TO R.C. in Florence: When Bill left Knoxville our plant improved and our market grew and we didnt have all the problems we have now. the decline of our plant started when he came back, I've been here for 25 yrs so dont try to tell me how it is. They made him plant manager and he damn near got us closed down, why they let him step back down instead of firing him I wish I knew, they would have fired anyone else that did what he did. He tried to blame a good man for his mistakes and almost caused him to quit, instead he got bumped back to assistant. He lets his pets do anything they want and of course ALL his relatives that work under him. He's a real good talker and golfer too from what I understand since he takes off whenever he wants to go play while his people work their ass off covering for him. sooner he retires the better off our plant will be. So dont try and tell me about him, I've known him and worked with him much longer than you. and I'll be glad when he's gone from our plant. Maybe we could make bread fit to sell like we used to.

Hey dipshit from Charlotte NC - What you fail to realize is that every time the ontract cme up the company had a bottom line for increases in pay. ASll the union did was to allocate how much went into pay, how much into retirement and how much into health care. The union did not get you SHIT and the company did not save for your retirement, you did. You could have done the same thing without the teamster pension plan and done a lot better.

To any post in Knoxville about Bill not doing his job. I am in sales and I worked out of the Florence Bakery for many years with Bill while he ran our production department. I am sure you all are aware that Florence plant is now closed. I have always told everyone that when Bill left our plant in Florence we went straight down hill. Our quality became a thing of the past. I have to say that Bill produced the best product I have ever seen in any bakery in the IBC corporation, and I had een in over 50% of all the IBC markets in my 32 years in sales. I worked with a lot of you on several sales projects and I know who made good product and who did not. You have to understand things are not like they use to be with IBC, so don't bash a good production manager unless you know what you are talking about!

Comment: A quick primer on Democracy for Union Members, folks! As a union member, you have no democracy rights, whatsoever! Why? Because you gave all of your democracy rights over to your union in the following two words: Exclusive Representative. That's right! What's the big deal you ask? Well, as a citizen of the United States of America and as a subject of your individual State Constitution, you still have your individual rights to democracy and you can apply them when needed! What is the greatest misfortune that can befall upon any union member in America today? Personal betrayal at your greatest hour of need and a lifetime of slavery at the hands of your union! In fact, without a doubt in my mind, I can tell you that Union Officials are one of the lowest forms of human life on earth! Right up there and right along side Hitler, himself! Like the man said not too long ago; Know the truth and it alone will set you free! Thank God Almighty!

No, Americans don't just 'get in line'. At some time, it will come to a boiling point. 'IT' being hard working people getting screwed; CEO's continuing to steal from companies; politicians continuing to steal from the nation. That's when 'it' will begin.   Comment: Unions sometimes attempt to impose limitations upon the right of a member to resign. However, a decision of the Supreme Court in Abood v. Detroit Board of Education, 431 U.S. 209 (1977), a Foundation-supported lawsuit, makes clear that you cannot constitutionally be prevented from resigning from your union at any time. Some states, but not all, also have statutes that guarantee public employees the right to resign. If you work in a Right to Work state, or neither state law nor the contract between your employer and the union contains a provision requiring you to join the union or pay union fees, after resigning, you would have no obligations whatsoever to the union. (However, if you have signed a dues deduction authorization, that authorization may contain a limitation on when it can be revoked.) If you work in a non-Right to Work state and state law or the contract does contain a provision requiring you to join the union or pay union fees, after resigning you would still have to pay union fees (generally called "agency fees"). As a nonmember, you would have a right to object to the amount of the agency fees and obtain a reduction of your compulsory payments so that they do not include the part of dues that is used for purposes other than collective bargaining, contract administration, and grievance adjustment.

WASHINGTON - Americans' retirement plans have lost as much as $2 trillion — or about 20 percent overall — in the past 15 months, Congress' top budget analyst estimated Tuesday. The upheaval that has engulfed the financial industry and sent the stock market plummeting is devastating workers' savings, forcing people to hold off on major purchases and consider delaying their retirement, said Peter Orszag, the head of the Congressional Budget Office. "Unlike Wall Street executives, America's families don't have a golden parachute to fall back on," said Rep. George Miller, the panel chairman. "It's clear that their retirement security may be one of the greatest casualties of this financial crisis."

LOS ANGELES - William Lerach, a former partner at a prestigious New York law firm, was sentenced Monday to TWO years in federal prison for his role in a lucrative kickback scheme involving class-action lawsuits against some of the nation's biggest corporations. Lerach, 61, was also sentenced to two years probation, fined $250,000 and ordered to complete 1,000 hours of community service."This whole conspiracy corrupted the law firm and it corrupted it in the most evil way," U.S. District Judge John Walter said during the hearing.Authorities said Lerach's former firm, now known as Milberg Weiss, made an estimated $250 million over two decades by filing legal actions on behalf of professional plaintiffs who received kickbacks. The firm paid $11.3 million in kickbacks to people who became plaintiffs in lawsuits targeting companies such as AT&T, Lucent, WorldCom, Microsoft and Prudential Insurance, prosecutors said..... lets see 2 years in a cushy federal pen. 250,000 in fines. and still comes out 249.75 million to the good. Hell i know people who got more, and harder time for knocking over a 7/11 !

AIG claims Mr. Greenberg and six other former executives, including ex-chief financial officer Howard Smith, took over company stock held by an AIG affiliate, Starr International Co., or SICO, in 2005. Starr is AIG's largest shareholder. AIG claims the defendants put themselves on Starr's board and converted the stock into a private investment vehicle for their benefit. "Greenberg engineered a coup d'état to usurp full control of SICO's board of directors," AIG said in a complaint filed this week in New York state court in Manhattan.AIG's filing escalates the legal conflict between Mr. Greenberg and the company he led for 38 years. Mr. Greenberg was forced to retire from AIG in March 2005, two months before then-New York State attorney general Eliot Spitzer sued Mr. Greenberg, accusing him of ordering improper transactions to hide losses and inflate reserves.

THIS IS A FACT AS I WAS THERE AND HEARD IT WITH MY OWN EARS. They passed out papers for us to mark our vote and sign or else. we'll see how it goes this time. any other plants getting the same thing?

After all of these concessions by the rsr's and the bakers, I can't see how any of us can get motivated about this job any more. The moral is so low that they will never get any extra out of any of us. All of these concessions and no word that management is taking any. Good luck to everyone, I hope we all find new jobs soon.

I am really shocked that this deal passed. I have only been with the company a year, so since I am only at 90% base pay this wont hit me as hard as some of you guys who have been here longer. I do more than the goal the company sets for me every week, my stales are below 8% every week and I am supposed to take a pay cut that puts me near the poverty line, while the men who sunk the ship collect more in bonuses than I make all year tell us that we are the problem? I just paid an oil bill last week that pretty much knocked me on my ass until next payday, and it occoured to me that once this money starts coming out I am not going to be making enough money to live. I realize that times are tough and truthfully I have been looking for something better and even with the cuts there arent many better options out there. I voted no, most guys at my plant voted no but yet the teamsters say the plan "overwhelmingly" passed, has anyone seen the actual numbers? As each day passes and we get closer to losing this money I find myself becoming more and more bitter about doing the same job for less money, and caring less about whats going on out in the market. Here in the Northeast, Wonder Bread is a piece of Americana, and I guess that nationally Twinkies have the same kind of thing going on. I cant imagine a management team so inept that they cant turn a profit with all of that going for them. I was really hoping that this would be the last job Id ever have to get but I guess I was wrong. We should have stood up and said " Fuck You we dare you to close the doors" Theres no way it would have happened. Its disappointing but it is what it is. The bottom line is how are we supposed to live with this new deal?

what we need in Knoxville is to get rid of the worthless production superintendent that we've had for TOO many yrs. He couldnt make it as a plant manager and they let him step back down and he's done nothing but run the product into the ground with his OLD ways of doing things. Word is out that he is retiring soon, we can all hope so and maybe we can get our bread back to selling like it used to before he came back from Florence.

Greed indeed! You are one ignorant fuck...... There are also more JOBS available so unemployment is NOT at an all-time high as a percentage as was pointed out to you. As for union greed, do you suppose the 28 million dollar+ salaries (not including benefits, bonuses, private jets, lavish resort "meetings", etc.) have anything to do with current auto company problems. No greed there, right? If you think there are economic problems now, just wait until most of the decent paying jobs are transformed into lower paying, no benefit jobs. Who do you think will be picking up the cost of the many no longer able to make a living wage or have health insurance? Who will be buying the products available for sale here. We are about to become a third world economy because of greed and you are an idiot to think it is because of unions. Indeed it has been unions who have largely created the middle class which has been the driving force of our economy and as the unions have declined so has the middle class. You obviously think you're so smart but in reality you don't have a fuckin' clue. Bend way over and pull your ignorant head out of your ass and get ready for the privileged, of which you are not, to shove something back in there!

RAYMONDVILLE, Texas - A Texas judge has set an arraignment for Vice President Dick Cheney, former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and other officials accused of involvement in prisoner abuse. Presiding Judge Manuel Banales said Wednesday he will allow them to waive arraignment or have attorneys present rather than appear in person Friday. Banales also said he would issue summonses, not warrants. That allows them to avoid arrest and the need to post bond. Willacy County District Attorney Juan Guerra accuses Cheney, Gonzales, a state senator and others of involvement in prisoner abuse at a federal detention center in south Texas.

WASHINGTON - A federal judge has ordered the release of five Algerian terror suspects who have been held without charges almost seven years at Guantanamo Bay. U.S. District Judge Richard J. Leon said Thursday that the five men could not be held indefinitely as enemy combatants. The judge said the military can continue to detain a sixth Algerian — Belkacem Bensayah — who was captured with the other five. The government had accused all six of the men of planning to travel to Afghanistan to join al-Qaida.Their lawyers say there's no evidence the men ever would have ended up on a battlefield or posed any threat to the U.S. The Justice Department has since backed off embassy bombing accusations, but maintain the six men were caught and detained before they could join terrorists' global jihad against the United States and its allies.

IBC is just one of the many piss poor run outfits out there. i just hope that if ripplewood sees them screw up like they always do that a whole new management team will be brought in. there is no silver lining here we are all just trying to survive. i am a rsr so i never thought i would have to cut life changing things because my teamster contract team screwed me. the teamsters could care less about you. they need dues to survive. the teamsters motto is BETTER WAGES, BETTER WORKING CONDITIONS, BETTER BENEFITS. by the way which one or any of these do we have. ahhhhhh not one fucking one. so for now we have to suck it up. bitch under our breath. do our job but nothing extra. i will be fucked if i will do anything extra losing $7000. and any of you hardasses talking about displays! displays are mostly done at corp. level anyway. and we are suppose to have suits there getting them. the other week i had over $800 in cuts for the week. so how are you going to make up any difference? so get a life anon anon

Comment: Creating credibility is very important for someone telling other people what to do. Like the person below telling us that union business agents are voted in by the membership. This is simply not true in most cases. They are appointed by their annointed officers. And, Labor Unions do take money not only under the table but from their membership's children as well. Why? Because they are low lifes without a backbone or a soul.

I heard extra men are being laid off if they don't have a route to run. So.. one week they work next week they don't. Do you know what that means, no umemployment. You must be laid off 2 weeks in a row in order to file for unemployment. What a crappy thing to do. Does management get laid off when they do nothing? That goes on everyday with them.

Has anyone noticed that the unemployment rate in this country is at a all time high? That being the case, how many jobs do you think is out there for IBC workers if they close the company? Do you know that as of Dec. 15th IBC will no longer have funds to make payroll if this agreement does not go through? Do you think they will give you severance pay when they can't even make payroll? Do you think they are bluffing? Take your chance. Talk all your bull crap you want but the fact is the Union is trying to save our jobs and no they don't take money under the table.. Remember where your business agents all came from. You all voted them in office and they came from bakeries just like we do. And yes most of us don't create problems. We go to work, do our jobs and go home. Then there is the ones who want to go to work late, take off work, not do your jobs, totally screw off and when you get in trouble the first person you want to call is the Union. So if you want to blame them for your job loss, go ahead. Your union is only as strong as the members make it so you have no one to blame but yourself for not making it strong.

I took the day off of work. Waited in long lines to vote for Mcain and he had the nerve to lose! Well the way i figure it only a few million people voted. We should go out to peoples homes and collect a revote! I mean the long lines were terrible, i lost a days pay, had to drive to the voting station and then Mcain has the nerve to lose! Come on only 6 million or so people voted! we can get that over turned easily. We can go to everyones home and get them to Revote (Registered republican homes only)! Sure i wasted my gas, time and money to vote in the first place but i dont care about that what we need is Mcain in the White house.

Well I voted for Mcain, but I was sure he would win. I mean who would have thought that an black man with the name OBAMA HUSSEIN would be presidentof the United States of America! Hell black men only count as 2/3 of a man, were slaves until the civil war,and were not allowed to vote for the first 200 years or so. I mean come on are we sure its even constitutional to have a black president? Republicans check into this! From what i hear MOST of the people stayed home and didnt vote because they never thought it would happen! America is having some serious problems with the economy and the war and debt, it wont surprise me if we go into a deep depression especially now with an OBAMA presidentcy! If the Dems think they are proving anything to the Rich they are wrong they have all of the money and always have an alternate plan! Like I said i voted for Mcain but i think we should Revote to get Mcain in. We should REVOTE as MANY times as it takes until he is elected! To those dems out there vote for Mcain and you can move to Canada, I hear it is beautiful this time of year, and it has free health care! Think about it.....

well knoxville voted NO to the concessions, the plant made arrangement and did rescheduling to make sure "every" employee had the time to go vote and what did half of them do? they just took the time off and didnt bother to vote, so I guess at least HALF of them didnt think is was important enough to bother with. who knew which way it would go, and from what I've heard with my own ears MOST didnt think it would be voted down, Our plant has been having some serious problems for awhile now and it wont surprise me if we get shut down over this. All you people that hate the company so bad you'd like to see them go under, well you might just get your wish. hope that makes you happy and gives you peace when you cant find another job making "near" as much money as you make now. If you think for a moment that upper management cares one little bit your mistaken. You're not proving anything to them because they always have an alternate plan and I'm sure have anticipated what they will do either way the vote goes. THEY will always be able to find jobs, its "US" that will be suffering from it either way, whether we take concessions to keep a job or whether we loose it because they shut us down. I personally voted YES, i can always look for another job while I still have one, better than no income at all.

The Great Toyota-GM Canoe Race 11-19-8 Toyota and GM decided to have a canoe race on the Missouri River. Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race. BUT on the big day, the Japanese won by a mile. The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat. A management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action. Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person steering, while the American team had 8 people steering and 1 person rowing. So American management hired a consulting company referred to them by the US Government and paid them a large amount of money for a second opinion. The consultants advised that too many people were steering the boat, while not enough people were rowing. To prevent another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team's management structure was totally reorganized into 3 steering supervisors, 1 area steering superintendents, 1 publicity manager, 1 HR diversity coordinator, 1 union rep, and a rower. They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 1 person rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called the "Rowing Team Quality First Program", with a lunch and a free company pen for the rower. There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes, and other equipment, extra vacation days for practices and performance-tied bonuses but that decision was held up in committee. BUT the next year the Japanese won by two miles. Humiliated, the American management laid off the rower for poor performance, halted development of a new canoe, sold the paddles, and canceled all capital investments for new equipment. The money from all sales and all forecasted moneys saved from further competition was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses and the next year's racing team was out-sourced to India. The End.

i dont understand how you people think 30 a week is worse than maybe 100 to200 a week.some of you should look in the mirror and say can i find a job that pays the same or better?if so why havent i done it before now?some of us are lucky to still have our jobs and benefits. we can complain about this or we can help yes help ourselves and the company who has heled us feed ,clothed our families for many years.in case you havent looked the economy is hurting.we need to ask ourselfs which is better 1200 dollars an hour or 675.thats not counting having to pay half your check for insurance.why did some of us come to merita in the first place???why have we stayed if it is bad as some of us say and think.we care about our wifes kids and their well being.do your families have food and a roof over their heads tonight??will they tomorrow or next week if we allow our pride to take over and vote no.or will your kids have a christmas because we allow disgrunteled so call friends pressure us to vote no.i have had to look deep inside myself before and swallow my pride and for that my family has food a house and clothes.sure it stings but if this job was as bad as some of you feel why have you not left?i am glad to know that my family is taken care of.some of us cant find another job that pays what me make ,why should we.we can vote yes and make this company what it once was profitable.im proud to have voted yes r u proud to have voted no and ruined some kids lifes and xmas well r u.this company has its goods and bads dont they all but it pays the bills and feeds us.vote your conscious not what your SO CALLED FRIEND DOES because he wont pay your bills or go to your house and tell your family he is sorry will he.of course not.the unions and company is trying to save our jobs r we by voting no????we have our pay ,benefits because of them what we do with it is up to YOU AND ME.i bet if the vote had been by write in ballot it would pass because others would not be scared of others around them seeing how we voted.we have a chance to help yes help put all of us back on top in the industry,we were before why not again??the ball is in our court do what you what with it but dont try and speak for my family they r more important than some of your egos.

If the union and company get to revote until they get their way, why can't the rsr get a revote. We all voted no anyhow, the Union just said it passed.

I have never gotten suspended, hurt or anything i work to the best of my ability so why cant the company do the same.We never had this kind of problem when we where just butternut but with wonder-get ride of it and all those money gradders that came with it and things will soon come around probly the next 6 months if we get the old IBC guy back in charge. I voted NO why would i want to give $10 back after i worked hard to get it not counting the taxes also i lose if anyone does want to they can got to the office every week and give them the money im sure they will take it and then through you out and say see you next pay day hahahaha. Last week i her in the meat someone called us UNION BROTHERS where does he get off with that everything weve ever gotten we fought hard to get they didnt just ask for it a foof there it was (hey brothers look what i got for you BULL SHIT) SO WE VOTED LAST WEEK AND IT DIDNT PASS WHEN VOTES DIDNT GO THE WAY I DIDNT LIKE I MOVED ON AND DIDNT CRY ABOUT IT LIKE SOME THAT VOTED YES DID.If something was wrong you guys should of said something about it then and not now it could of been settled then it stil would of turned up the same results NO NO.Now RIPPLE WOOD hes not worried about our little pocket change its the money grabbing company guys like the one who came to out plant tuesday and cried to us hes worried about his job he should be because its going to be realy hard if it would close tring to find a job when you put a multi million dollar company under in just a few years not looking good for them.It might be for the better yes we can find jobs i didnt say it would be easy you might have to use your head again and look. Change isnt allways bad yes you might not make the same but your still going to feal proud of the work your doing how can we now with the crap they make us put out. So if you dont like to fight for what weve gotten then go somewhere else and leave the real UNION WORKERS fight for what we have why cause you will never get it back.Sorry but im just a little TICKED OFF

I read all the negative comments about your unions. You all want to blame the union for this companys problems. How many of you union members have ever complained when the union got your pay raises, your pension increases, or your lousy ass jobs back for you when you screwed up? How many ever complained when you or your family member went to the Dr. or hospital and you had insurance to pay your bills. What about the the trips to the Dentist or the Eye Dr. How about the vacations you get every year? Oh I guess all you dumb fools think you would have all these benefits without a Union? This company don't give a shit about you so where do you think you would be now without a Union? Making 7 bucks an hour somewhere no doubt. I am a proud member of the BCTGM Union and I know where I would be without them. So all you dumb shits out there who don't think you need a Union, go work some where that is not Union. Why not give blame for this mess where it belongs. I believe the company got us in this mess, not the Union. I believe the Union is trying to keep your job not lose it.

To Anon in Peoria I really am a transport driver. When I started I was doing swing runs, so I got around to a lot of depots. By far, the guys in Peoria bitched more than anyone. But I think the one guy retired. He bitched enough for three people.
