Comment: Now its my understanding that Craig Jung is in town and I would bet my bottom dollar that most of the depots had the hell plussed out of them on both bread and cake. I could be wrong but they usually hide the true market conditions anytime someone senoir comes to town. On a normal Wed Sheriff you could go to virtually any store and see nothing but wire at 10 in the morning. the columbo product would be turned sideways ect. |

Comment: Let's say for example that you are getting an average of 17% commission on all the brands you are carrying on your truck. Your route is running 10K a week for ease of math. You gross 1700. Your expenses come out of that total. The areas I'm familiar with would have total operating expenses of about 700 a week. leaving you with a net of 1000 in "net" pay. Since you "own" your distributorship your tax liabilities can be decreased dramatically. Home phone, CPU, Home Office, gas ect. If you opt for a trailer you can write off your truck you purchase to haul your product. Clothes ect.,ect.,ect,.....Bad news is vacation time but some companies offer programs to assist you in this.....it's not all bad and a very good deal for some. Some people...not so good. It's your choice as an individual. If your wife has medical care then one of your biggest concerns is addressed. Some companies can assist you with insurance programs at a negotiated discount that come close to our programs. |

Comment: Tired of BS. One thing to understand is that our Company Or Products/Brands are not as well developed here in the South as they are where you are in the North. We already carry the Brands you mentioned on our trucks now, plus Entenmanns. Think Dollars/Sales instead of just Brands/Labels. Here is how it would would work.
Say my Route is running $8000/per week. The Company would "Buy-Back" $3000-$4000/week of Sales from me in the form of 3/4/5 Chain Grocery Stores(Store Voulmes of course may Vary). Those stores would then be peiced together with other stores from the Route (Guy) next to mine and maybe one more to create a Route for an IBC Route Guy to Purchase. The Company would then replace the Sales I lost by selling my Stores by giving me the IBC Brands to sell in the Stores that I have left. IDEALLY $3-4000/week worth. They would have to have the Sales figures for what IBC does in those stores but I'm sure that would come along with an Deal/Agreement between the Companies. What I'm saying is that the new Company will operate from a position of incorporating the Sales from existing IBC Brands into the Routes already being run while offering IBC guys a chance to come on-board. |

Comment: You are dead right BS......most won't.......some will. You will find that in most I/O areas the routes become something of a family affair. RSRs take their teenage kids with them or their wife helps them out from time to time. Look I'm not bashing you or trying to offend you and if I did I'm sorry. I'm just familiar with different models of route distribution and have friends on both sides of the fence. The money that is made by the companies in I/O status makes up for the lack of control they might lose to a sales rep in those areas. If a company wants to go I/O they must be willing to give up some control of their business or they risk major lawsuits.(mis-classification of employees) In otherwords you can't be an Independant Operator and be controlled completely by the company. |

Comment: Look no further than the stale percentage that has been demanded of the RSR's. Unless you have a prison, jail, large vend account or a high volume box store you cannot run 8% returns without missing your butt on the market. Our bread is 4.00 a loaf at regular price vs. 2/3.00 with PL at the major chains. The decrease in production is simply the sales reps missing their butts on the market to look good in the only column the company currently cares about. |

Comment: My guess would be as good as yours Sheriff. Oct. 2 will be nothing more than presenting a plan to the courts so don't expect much out of that. The bimbo situation in Norcal could bring about some interesting scenerios though. Orowheat has pretty much hit their peak as far as sales and market share are concerned. They are asking for takeaways across the board in order to reduce payroll. they want what IBC has-----The new RSR model as it pertains to pay. If they do not get the concessions they want you might see them purchase the west coast operations and slowly integrate their product line to the IBC side. Is it likely...no. Possible.....yes. As a company you could take your average RSR pay at Bimbo of I would guess about 90,000 a year and put your product on a truck where the average RSR would be making 60,000 a year. That move would pay for itself in a short period of time and would allow for an expansion of their market share and income. Working the system 101 and Bimbo baking company is very good at that. In areas of I/O's such as the south they are split into different companies. One company finances your route purchase, one company supplies your route truck, one company supplies your computer equipment but they are all affiliated with Bimbo. In I/O areas they make money by the grips and they are willing to relenquish some control of their market to reps because of the fact that they are making so much money. My point is that they are smart and they are willing to look at all options to increase their bottom line |

The question I ask is...where in the HELL did all of our business go? We make a fine looking loaf of bread there. We'ver always been a profit center, but I can't see much of a future working 1 1/2, 2 shifts. Please explain. |

Comment: Look guys, the majority of us will be taking it in the shorts and there is not much we can do about it. The company believes it's problem is with payroll and they are going to do what they feel will ease that restriction. I don't like it one bit at all but if the unions have an agreement with the company I dare say that is going to pass. If it doesn't we will be modeled after the Florida election process and will recount untill it does pass. Everyone on this sight knows that. Just prepare for the worst and hope for the best! |

Comment: It's called working your ass off BS. Geographic areas in an Independant Operation model can be sold to add new routes. As an I/O you can even run two trucks by hiring someone to run the extra product. Most I/O's pay a pull-up person to take care of their major accounts. It might be a win-win situation for them |

Comment: Don't kid yourself BS. While the banks have frozen line of credits to small businesses corporate america is still doing business. Liquidity and assets determine transactions and in the case of Mickie D's you are looking at a large Franchisee and not the company itself. Cash flow determines your financial options. If you have it you get it, if you don't you pay cash. |

Comment: Ripplewood is only here to guarantee operating expenses while the company is being pieced out. Sure they have an interest in doing well but only for their bottom line. Ripplewood coming on board allows the company time to emerge from BK and sell off areas which will allow IBC to become a smaller, regionally located company with the ability to ship frozen products to either coast under the Dolly Direct program. If we are lucky the regions that each of us work in will be sold before the contract concessions are in place. |

Comment: $340,107,956.87 owed to areas of Central States pension fund
it figures..
I have kept EACH and EVERY pay stub that Ive received from IBC since date of hire
In the Spring of 2005 I started reviewed my pension weeks contribution sheet with my pay stubs
It didnt add up
the company owed me almost 1 years back pension contributions
I fought it with a personal audit and finally won the back contributions this past Spring
supposedly since the error has been found- Central States told me they guarenteed the disputed amount
yeah right |

that comes to a little over $120 a week pay cut
no mention yet.... of having to pay for a portion of health insurance or what else is being lost
a meeting will take place sometime next week to find out what the Union and Company agreed upon |

Comment:
There was a time in America when politicians roamed earth doing the job they were elected to do for the benefit of the people they served. It was during these same times that America working as a nation of people made great strides in overcoming famine, pestilence and oppressive rulers, all in the name of their republic. Words like Made in America and The March of Dimes were not only startling but actually real and filled to the brim with human energy, hopes, dreams and desires. It was also a time when humans in America felt a need to tell the truth and to live their lives accordingly. To do otherwise was considered to be a personal shame and a fall from grace. All these "good deeds and leading examples" have now been transformed by an Evil Empire of Doomsayers with a need to line their own pockets with public funds. Our politicians today are likened to used car salespeople. Their lips are dripping with lies and untold truths. They are crackheads looking and lying for the benefits of the drugs they now consume without end. You and I are like the dead meat they now have set before them on their dinner tables. Well, I'm getting tired of their bullshit and I'm telling them it's time to take back America piece by piece until we have it all once again. And, I don't care if I'm the only person here saying these words because I am what I have become by the grace of God! |

My broker just gave me a sure thing IBC at 3 cents a share.....I just bought 1000 shares and if I'm lucky and sell at the right time I might make 5 dollars! Keep this quiet guys. I don't want this good thing ruined. If we play this right we all might be able to buy a pack of smokes! |

Comment: Look on the side of your route truck....Don't crucify me for the exact wording but I believe it says IBC Transportation LLC. This company was split into many different divisions to allow the sale of different parts. It is feasable that the routes could be sold to a competitor. Now whether or not they would need the manpower would be a situation that the Union would have to address with a dovetailing of the senoirity list. |

Comment: Tire of the BS in Wayne,NJ. To answer your question. The way the new owner(s) will handle the extra product is called" Route Splits". In the Case of Independent Operators, the Company will "Buy-Back" Stores from the Route Guys.
Say if a Route Guy has 8 Grocery Stores, the Company will "Buy-Back" 2-3 of those stores from him, and do the same with 2 other guys whose Routes connect near his. The guys get paid based on the weekly average of the sales for that store, then they get to sell the new product (Merita) in the stores they have left. It's a Double-Win situation for the Route Guy, and it creates new Routes for the IBC guys who want to stay in the Bread Business.
IBC guys won't get to keep "their" route, but they will have a good route available, probably in the same area, if they choose to come with the new Company.

We use Windsor Marketing and they can't even spell the company name right. We just threw away 40,000 dollars worth of out purchase product and nobody even cares or knows. What is wrong with this picture? |

Comment: Kansas city,OK,so it's the southeast you were referring to,i'm not trying to belittle you but just how will bimbo, sara, and geoge deliver the extra load capasity?you can't convince me that what they already have (owner operators)will be able to handle it.there trucks won't fit the extra product.or our you saying that the rts. have already been sold to different new owners?if you would just put yourself in thier position for a moment, and add all their product on our trucks(as well as ours)a truck can only fit so much,so i was just wondering how you thought they will handle the situation. |

Comment: Memphis, from the information that comes in to my office, seems the Knoxville plant #44 has a nice profit, sorry Memphis, your plant isn't making that much profit, however the people in the northeast seem to think they are making all the profit. According to the paperwork I have seen the northeast isn't the big time profit maker any longer. I want you people to know I don't blame the unions at all, former CEOs and upper management are to blame. |

WELL he seems to be getting that accomplished! All this Union bashing does he not know why we even have a voice? With out the Unions IBC has no resistance on imposing thier will on us. To all my Teamsters brothers.. please don't be fooled, this sucks as bankruptcy usually does for all involved. |

Your pissed at the Union....The same Union that bargained for all your benefits and Pension that you so badly don't want to lose. You forget why you took the job to begin with...for the pay and benefits...so now that bankruptcy has changed the playing field and reality has set in you like so many others are blaming any one and every one for IBC's bankruptcy! If it were not for the Union you would of not even been asked for your voice dumb ass it would of just been imposed on you like all other employees who don't have a Union. |

Seven hundred billion dollars is but a drop in this size of bucket, folks! And, it's not really about the money as it is about covering their ass before the shit hits the fan at hurricane force. While Scammers drove real estate prices ever higher, our politicians knowingly looked the other way and winked. Believe me when I tell you that thousands of people made tons of money while building this pyramid of deception and outright greed. And now is has collapsed into a bottomless bucket of untold debt not only for its citizens but for America as well. McCain and Obama dam well know this but just like all the other really important issues (like illegals, health care, jobs, social security) in America, their lips are sealed when it comes to speaking the truth to the Republic. Both say they are bringing change to our Nation and my bet is that this change will not be in their hearts but in their pockets. |

If you only knew half of what you post, you are such a ding-dong. Everything going on you know nothing about. Gene is touring the southeast bakeries this week. Next week he is coming to the great state of New York to help pull IBC out of that state, so to tell you the truth, YOU will be the one getting a warn notice!!! And let's not lie to each other, the northeast IS NOT making MONEY!!! The bakeries in the southeast except for Memphis are making a little profit. So Mr. Fly what kind of lie will you post next? Oh I know you will say I am lieing, Well I just hope you meant it when you posted about chaining the doors shut, because it may happen. The Company we are currenty talking to will keep Wonder and Hostess alive in the northeast. And they will not need any employees. See, watch for what you wish for it may come true |

Out here in Norcal it'll be a tumultous fall. Bimbo is asking for complete takeways across the board as that contract expires next week. They smell the weakness in the current situation and are not afraid to exploit it. I work for Sara Lee and our contract, which is currently like IBC's is up in 2 years. Sara Lee has stopped trying to buy back routes from its IO's and is looking to be flexible with its business plans for the next year or so. It is anybody's guess as to how this business looks in the next few years, but I would venture to say that the Teamsters are in a very weak position. With inflation expected to increase in coming years, the ability to pass on pricing and compete in the retail market is greatly hampered under current contracts. I look for many giveaways coming just to keep the union in the ballgame. The union being out of the picture is avery real possibility....just like the chips business......hello Frito. |

Comment: Boonville is right. 1300 of us got laid off is southern cal. They kept the cake so NONE of us got any kind of severence pay.We did get promised we had 18 months and if we got called back we would still get our job but no severence pay.We were promised if we just hung in there we would get our pay. That's why no one up and quit the last two weeks. If you are fortunate to still have a job(even if your not happy) .Save your money...seriously.You should have 9 months saved up.Unemployment even with our big pay is 450.00 a week and you get 26 weeks.Boonville is absolutely correct on the severence....there is none......Hang in there...... |

Comment: Hi Hurting Wayne NJ, I didn't know that you didn't get ot. Well, that's another ballgame.I think your situation is different than mine. We still get ot, salary basepay, medical and dental ,commission. I am not sure what the new contract will be but that's why we all got laid off they wanted us to do Path to market and the unions didn't go for it Thank goodness..I am sure we will see major cuts and we find out some news on October 2. I am pursuing other avenues. I am updating my teaching credientials for a start and need to pass the cebest to go back. We will see what happens. Go take a little test for me. Go on the internet and look at jobs there is the problem . Oh Yeah, their are jobs but would you want to do them. Well, you think you would but then you really are stuck doing something you really hate for no money. This little test will help you appreciate what you do have. Right now I have zip but my time is coming believe me.Beautiful day here in southern cal I am going to go take a run.Enjoy your day off ok.......talk soon................. Devoted Ho Ho Indio, cal.....ps we are looking at 102 degrees today...whew |

Comment: Tom II: fyi, the northeast pc is not the only one making money, in fact they all are, you just dont realize how much money it costs for the company to do business in the northeast, eating into the profitability of the area. Same as the west coast and the overtime laws they have in Cali.... Oh, and if you look it up online, the warn notices the federal government requires for companies over 5,000 employees is 60 days. |

Comment: Devoted HoHo,i'm not bashing you here but ARE YOU CRAZY GIRL?we don't get paid OT here on the east coast.there are a small handful of guys that will put those kind of hrs in but not this guy.i guess after 20yrs i got lazy.theres more to life than working for these people.they don't appreciate it so why kill yourself.you said yourself they got pissed for you getting to a stop late,it's weird, there are guys that pull out of decent stops and get in no trouble at all, then theres folks like us that get ripped a new butthole for putting in the extra effort.by the way,it is a small world,i used to live out there in southern cal back in the late 70's.i lived in the garden grove area for about 10yrs.we'll i wish you good luck in trying to get back with this outfit, even though i think your crazy for trying. |

Comment: To New Sheriff in town---Jung is in town to disclose plans on pulling out of Northern California. Bread operations will soon be closed leaving only Cake. The market share cannot be increased without a significant investment of cash to buy space in the major chains. Unfortunately that investment would not create the return needed to make it viable especially with the management and account reps currently in place. The cost of doing business in California forces this company to look for other means of distribution. Look for Wonder and Homepride labels to be outsourced to our competitors. Cake is not entirely safe either. Numbers will have to improve dramatically or this area will be looking at a complete line pruning of all items with the exception of Dolly Direct. Sorry Ladies and Gentlemen. |

Comment: Doug; Did you fall off the banana boat? Even if they issue a WARN notice to the employees in the northeast it requires 90 days so November is out of the picture. Most of the posters here have little more than conjecture to go on so read it for what it is worth. Mike Powers did "screw" his way up including the RSR's wife but that is the way the company wants it. |

Comment: Hi Hurting Wayne NJ, Thanks for the support. I have a brother who lives in Jerseycity NJ.... small world. I know this job is tough. I am one of the few women in this area so tell me about it. A couple of years ago when we went thru the Wonderbread-Hostess merger to become one company I lost my route.I ended up being relief and had to do bread. They stuck me in Riverside cal. Wow,first day I worked 18 hours and did 25 hours overtime that week. They put me an hour and 15 minutes from home. I didn't know the area andI didn't know bread. I had 3 staterbrothers ,one albertsons, one vons,a cuple of del tacos.one ralph , gt in trouble not getting to the del tacos(5:30) at nite.I also got in trouble for getting the to the last staters at 4:30. I said "I would think you would appreciate that I didn't skip them". I work from the am(dark) to the pm(dark) until the last day I came in during the day time (with 21 other routes at that depot) and the guys clapped. They then stuck me on a route in cathedral city and left me on the same route till a new cake route opened up. There were guys calling in sick everyday but I never did. I didn;'t even go home. I paid 90.00 for two days in holiday Inn out of my own money. I worked 5 months in bread but kept in mine that I got 5 months experience in bread. I will tell you I would do it again. I could run circles around most of the guys. I know the hours suck and the split days off suck. But we have holidays off and we had benefits, and the pay was great. I had the freedom to be outside and meet alot of great people.I was a grocery checker and I never knew my hours, worked sundays ,holidys and didn't have 40 hours so I had to work at other stores to get enough hours to live.I will tell you I believe that this lay off will make me a better worker than I was. I can't wait to get out there and give 110 percent. seriously.I think it will all work out and we hostess/ wonderbread people are tough great workers and the companies that get us will be dam lucky .Hang in there it will all work out the way it's suppose to.Hey by the way I have a b/a in education and that doesn't make me smarter than anyone else.... I have just acquired the ability to learn. Hi Mitch Devoted Ho Ho Indio, Cal. |

Now that IBC and their labor unions are shafting their employees's like Bush is shafting American citizens, the fur should really start to fly now between Presidential candidates. More than 90% of our population is running on automatic just to get through their day, while waiting to hear what NOW and what is the latest DISASTER coming down the Pike. One day earlier this same week, some parent turned his 9 kids over to the state and walked away, then we learned China is now poisoning people faster and cheaper than America can do it and it's a footrace to the bottom of the corporate ladder when it comes to greed, graft and corruption on earth. We have NO JOBS...NO FUTURE but we still have the right to vote in America! What a joke. |

Comment: devo hoho,i'm sorry that you were laid off.now let me ask you, would you do the same job(hrs)for $600 less?it's not a easy job, especially after 20yrs of it.yesterday ,friday,i busted my ass in the pouring rain($3000 load) for about $200 bucks.and i earned every penny of it,and today i can't even enjoy my day off cause i'm in pain from the week of jumping on and off the truck 200 times(a day),cluching a harder then normal 24yr old truck, the list goes on buddy, but to ask us for another $600 a month,FUCK THEM.VOTE IT DOWN PEOPLE,but it will pass because of the way the FUCKED up union arranged the way it gets voted on.hourly people should have their own seperate contract from RSR.$10 a week as opposed to our $140.this is way everything passes, there are more of you hr folks then rsr,who do completly different jobs,ya know,i think i would love to go PTM,i would't have to be loading a truck, driving, unloading in the wheather eliments, just going into the store and putting it up,it may be for less but it won't be that hard on our bodys either. |

Comment: Seems Young Gun remembers MIKE POWERS right and the douche bag that he is. Yes indeed it's the same guy who was putting the wood to his RSR's old lady while he was running his route. Wasn't he buddies with the RSR and living with the happy couple? That made it easy to hit that stuff. He should have lost his job then. Instead he continues his climb up the leaning ladder. Another excellent decision made by upper management. Advice to the poor RSR's working for him now --Don't leave him alone with your wives!!! |

Comment: Issue is simple.....members are not....concessions are not about wether or not you gave your share. concession are not based on wether or not you can afford them. Concession are about keeping a company open. Vote with your minds, note your hearts. Unemployment lines are long enough, I know I was in it just a few short years ago. Pride is what most people are hurt with and won't admit that we are still working for IBC because we have not been able to find a better job, that is the TRUTH.
Ask your self this, why am I still working for IBC? Save me and everyone else the I am close to a pension B.S. ...WE CAN AGE INTO THAT! Please, move on if you have had enough of IBC's crap, everyone knows there is more crap comming , deal with! |

Hopes rise for future of Interstate BakeriesKansas City Business Journal - by Suzanna Stagemeyer Staff Writer

Interstate Bakeries gets closer to exiting bankruptcy
Tampa Bay Rays hit home run with TV ratings
After several attempts during the past four years, Interstate Bakeries Corp. may be close to wrapping up a plan for emerging from bankruptcy.
The Kansas City-based baker, known for iconic brands such as Twinkies and Wonder bread, said Sept. 12 that it had reached agreements with its two big unions and received $339 million in financial commitments for the exit from secured lenders and an offer of a $130 million investment from an affiliate of Ripplewood Holdings LLC. IBC said it plans to leave bankruptcy by Feb. 9, when its debtor-in-possession lending agreement expires.
The Kansas City Business Journal attempted to answer some of the pressing questions about the emergence plan and IBC’s prospective new life.
What still must happen for IBC to survive?
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Kansas City is scheduled to decide Oct. 2 whether to approve IBC’s financial commitments. Even with that approval in hand, IBC has a long list of tasks to accomplish for the deal to work.
Union members must ratify modified contracts, and the parties must come up with a revised reorganization plan that, unlike IBC’s most recent plan, gets adequate support from constituents. The Teamsters spurned the previous plan, saying it preferred IBC’s liquidation. Financing commitments have been contingent on union agreements.
Creditors representing 53 percent of IBC’s pre-petition senior secured debt support the agreement. The revised plan probably would leave shareholders and general unsecured creditors empty-handed.
Ultimately, the bankruptcy court must confirm the plan.
Even then, there’s plenty of work to do. The company has continued to lose money in bankruptcy. For the fiscal year that ended May 29, 2004, the company lost $33.4 million. Losses for the year that ended May 31, 2008, were $143.7 million.
Who is Ripplewood?
New York-based Ripplewood was founded in 1995 and manages five institutional private equity funds. The firm, which didn’t respond to interview requests, has invested more than $4.5 billion in deals in the United States, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Ripplewood bid for Maytag Corp. in 2005 and bought The Reader’s Digest Association Inc. in a $2.4 billion deal, which closed in March 2007. Previous investments have spanned numerous industries, including consumer, branded and industrial products.
When it invests in a company, Ripplewood typically brings in affiliates, which it calls industrial partners, that have been successful in the industry. These industrial partners help Ripplewood analyze deals and run acquired companies, which Ripplewood typically takes public or sells after a few years.
Former Sprint Corp. CEO Bill Esrey is among the firm’s industrial partners. In an interview earlier this year, he said Ripplewood has an outstanding track record for avoiding losing transactions.
Will jobs be cut?
The parties haven’t clarified how employment at IBC would change as part of its emergence from bankruptcy.
IBC already has shrunk significantly during the past four years, from 32,000 employees in 2004 to 22,300 workers now.
Company spokeswoman Maya Pogoda said jobs haven’t yet been discussed in talks about the financial commitment.
“The company has no intention of making job changes now, but like any company, we have to address changing market conditions if necessary,” she said.
IBC has about 330 employees in the Kansas City area. Its two big unions — the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and The Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union — represent about 17,000 employees.
“This plan really respects the sacrifices already made by our members and, overall, preserves their jobs,” Richard Volpe, director of the Teamsters Bakery Conference, said in a statement.
The Teamsters hope the changing tide will lead to long-term job growth.
“We’re hoping that the new operators will create more jobs at Interstate Bakeries once the company is reorganized,” Volpe said.
Who will run IBC?
Sources said they weren’t aware of plans to change leadership at IBC. But as part of the financing commitment, Ripplewood gets two board seats for industrial partners.
Those two partners will be John Cahill, former CEO of The Pepsi Bottling Group Inc., and Greg Murphy, former CEO of Kraft Food Bakery Cos. The two said in a statement that IBC’s strong bread and snack cake brands best position the company for future success.
Cahill was Pepsi Bottling G |

Comment: Guys you need to look at who will be on the board for Ripplewood. Look at the business relationships they have developed. Look at what Ripplewood does best and then decide how our company is going to be split up because it is going to happen. IBC will be a smaller company, centrally located in the midwest focusing on a smaller core of frozen products shipped to major box outlets under the name Dolly Madison. All other labels will be sold to other Bakeries. |

Comment: I don't want to give up anything. But in the situation that IBC finds itself in, I guess we have to.What I do want , is something in the contract that says that overtime will be paid at time and a half. The OT should be taken from a formula.I say $800 should be the figure that OT should be taken from. Then and only then will it a fair agreement. At $800 OT will be $30 per hour and not the $15 that we are paid now. This will keep the company from making me work 12-14 hours per day. This will make them put more routes on the street. It's only fair. |

Comment: anon. cant help you there. i hate the union. but you arenot going forward unless company and union agree. and it is sales(which is union) that makes this company money. that is why nothing can be resolved. you have non union who could give a fuck about the union, we have hourly who could give a fuck about sales, and we have transport who are really hourly. so the whole company is fucked. so anon. unless someone prove me wrong. it was the wording of the companies first proposal of concessions. it was not the money amount but it was IBC saying they wanted the right to do whatever they so desired without the concent of the union for anything. so of course the union balked and said no way. remember now i hate the union. all they care about is dues. this is a sell out for sure. today as our meeting draws closer to next week i called the business agent and they are so tunneled vision he still says its the companies fault. i told him this was a teamster proposal with ripplewood to IBC he almost told me i did not know what i was talking about. but if there is a small way(i dont know for sure) that IBC is also saying concessions from us in sales as we are the only group making them money then i say screw that. everyone should lose that $110 aweek. so dont just pin it on teamsters anon. this fucking company has been going down for 6 years now and we salesman have taken a pay cut already in base and retirement. i still am voting no. but i do agree anon. teamster suck. |

I must first say that i have never seen such a website!
I was told to talk a look at this from a friend who actually works for IBC.
After reading through page after page of post's I cannot believe that there are grown human beings (and I use that loosly) that write such derogatory things about people, their company, and just life in general.
If you are truly that unhapp, just leave. It is that simple!
What is even more disturbing is the fact that many people feel the need to use other peoples names in liu of their own.
Listen, IBC does have challenges with their culture and management for that matter, however the things that are written on this site are not helping your cause. What is even more disturbing is that this site can easily be mistaken in being affiliated with the company. If I am a consumer and read this trash, I think twice in making my next bread/cake purchase.
This is my one and only post, I surely will be called stupid, moron, dumb, or whatever childish name you can think of, however you will be posting to someone who will not bring themselves to that level and give you a response.
Again, I try and picture the people who sit behind their computor and write this trash and then picture that same person interacting with custumers. Maybe it is not ALL managements falt in your compnay. |

Comment: To undecided still: A no vote may not be as bad as you envision. Here in the Northeast liquidation would have presented a good opportunity for the younger RSR's. Other companies and the independents in the area would all expand their workforces/offer routes for sale. The younger RSR's would have the chance to make an above average income and work for a better company or run their own business. The older folks who are near retirement could also find other employment to carry them towards their retirement date. Now everyone is faced with a huge reduction in income in order to keep their jobs. Vote as you will, but please consider all of the possible outcomes either way. |

Here is another example of a big box business in America that doesn't get it: Lowe's Home Improvement! They are predicting a downturn this year but a double-diget recovery in 5 years. Maybe someone should tell them America no longer has jobs for American's. NO JOBS-NO FUTURE! And, the home building industry is belly up and dead meat, as well.

Standing up for their rights is not something American' s do well together. When was the last time we saw a group of them parading down a street in support of anything or anybody in America? To be sure, many of them are working their ass off just to keep from drowning in debt but the fact is that none of them are doing anything collectively constuctive. The people that we do see parading in our streets are thousands of illegals marching and waiving their country's flags and demanding their rights at the expense of ours! The truth is that no one wants to stand up in America because they don't have what it takes to do this job. They don't want to sacrifice and they don't want to live for less. This is why our world is now upside down the same way our housing and car loans are today. We owe more on these loans than they are worth the moment we take possession of them. Now Big Brother is coming into our everday lives to save us from the monsters they helped create. May God help us all because nobody living today can or will! It's like the song says: I'm another year older and deeper in debt, I owe my soul to the company store |

Comment: the reality is the creditors have to be paid. either by voting yes and we still work, or no and the company is sold in sections and most of us are out of jobs.the judge now has 2 plans in front of him for paying these creditors, it is not importent for ibc to stay in buisness. for those close to retirement the co staying ibc is importent towards their pension. the young guys have no bright future with path to market on the horizon. the middle guys have to look across the table at their wife and children and decide if this large pay cut is acceptable. wher else can they find employment that includes the benifit package and same wages?everyone has their own agenda as to how to vote. i have never ever voted yes, but i guess their is a first time for everything. good luck to all.it is what it is |

Comment:
Ratification of BK changes in union language brings serious ramifications to unsuspecting IBC employees today who still believe in fair play. Steam-roller bargaining by employers however, has never been looked upon as being entirely impartial nor fair to their employees. Labor Unions today are more about themselves than their subjects so don't expect any help here. Sinking our society appears to be what big business and labor unions do best together! Please allow me to congratulate you and to welcome everyone here to the World of the Working Poor in America! Please try not to make waves when entering your workstation, because we will all become blinded by the bullshit, which is almost eye-ball deep now. |

Comment: If it hasn't happened already, everyone well be having a meeting about what is taking place with this lovely company we call I.B.C. All of us workers(routes sales, bakers, and truckers) are going to either agree or disagree with the comsequences that the company is going to put forth to us. Some of you will yes and some will say no to the extreme ratifications, but i ask you to ask yourself; Did we put us in this situation? Most will say no. If that is the case, read on. We have over the course of 8-10 years given the company a chance to survive by giving away the price adjustments they give to supermarkets, froze the commission rate at where it is today, comingled the product in some areas and even took off routes to save money on wages and insurances. Where has that money gone to? Also we have given $40 out our base pay and the company has not contributed to the 401k in well over 5 years. So with all of that said, for me personally running a route everyday, I have lost approximately $300.00 per week for the last 8-10 years and now the company is forcing us again to give back more. All i ask is that ripplewood better have plan to oust every last regional and district manager who do not do a damn thing and also show all of the employees the master plan of getting us out of here. If they can not produce that, then I will look for something else because no one man or woman who work for this company should have more decreases in their pay again. We make this company go round not the fatcats in K.C. Why then should give the company more of our hard work when they in turn have absolutely nothing to show for what they have done for the last ten fucking years. they have only paid off higher ups and lawyers to keep us in this shit hole. Not once have they showed any care in the world to try to get us out of this mess. Hell i am willing to bet they wouldn't be able to get jobbers to do this work. Anyway, the time has come to decide not for the survival of this shithole company but for whether or not you want to work for less wages and it will, as the past has proved, be much worse later down the road when the company says, we need more. it is not about being non-union or being union it is about getting what we as workers rightfully deserve and that is not to go backwards in the pay scale as the upper management does not do.. Good luck and decide wisely |

HOW TO TELL IF YOUR LIFE IS WORTH LIVING IN AMERICA TODAY! Do you find yourself attending schools without teachers? Are you always hungry with no food in sight? Do you have trouble breathing polluted air? Are other people stealing your car's gasoline while you sleep? Do you hear gunshots both during the day and nightime too? Are there more people selling their blood and body organs for food? Are you walking or riding public transportation to and fro, since gasoline and all other forms of energy became unavailable to the working classes? Have you forgotten what it means to be employed? Does you neighbor look more like a mealtime snack? If indeed you answer more of these tidbits above in the affirmative, then you either need to move or start a Class War, ASAP. |

Comment: T E A M B R O C K : Sounds like you have many issues in your market area. Racks are dirty, trucks are dirty, 95% of "your" guys keep stock on the truck. Maybe IBC should look at your INability to manage people/business. Your threats and holier than thou attitude obviously are not getting it done in your area. Try the Bill Mackin approach: Bring it to the sales reps attention what is lacking and then roll up your sleeves to help correct it. Bill was the best GM in the business and IBC let him go..... I guess it's more important to be a "yes" man at IBC if you want to keep your job. Your all a bunch of "Dan Angsts" - losers |

Asking questions and never receiving answers to those same quesitons from their leaders, is why IBC and their workforce is still dying in bankruptcy today. Their Path to Market treasure hunt was a coverup story concocted by their executives to sway their workforce to stay on board while they themselves gang-raped IBC beyond recognition. Now, their plan is to join hands with their labor unions and simply walk away from their employee pension obligations, as well. It took them less than five years to go from a bakery to a slaughter house for their own employees. And, I might add, without the aid of lipstick! |

Comment: Everyone does realize that the company that bought out IBC is an investment firm. They do not care about family or friends. A company like this cares about money. That’s all. In about 1 to 2 years if they cannot turn it into a big money maker they will break it up and sell it off. With a company like this it is all about the bottom line. Don’t know if that is good or bad. That is just the facts. |

What takes place in an upside down world, you ask? Court judgements like: Victim must pay back thief! Check it out on MSNBC. Victim A hires Thief B to build a building for $80,000, paying him $39,000 cash up front. Thief B never shows and is successfully prosecuted in a State led criminal action and therein is convicted and ordered to pay back all to Victim A. Thief B some weeks prior to the criminal hearing filed for bankruptcy protection and now complains to BK court for relief and gets it in the form of now being paid back by his Victim A. Nice stuff, right! It's right up there with: Dog attacks and bites man and gets a new set of teeth paid for by this same man, for breaking off a tooth in the process! |

There is little doubt today that Obama knows he picked the wrong sex for his VP. I'm sure his people are working on it and we can expect something to take place on Biden getting canned real soon. Like pressing health or retirement really matters! In the meantime, American voters today never had so many land-mine issues to deal with at one time in their entire history! Our nation is sailing in troubled waters and in high-sea conditions, follks. Some of us are going to die from this experience. Greed, graft and corruption have replaced our national anthem and we can thank our politicians, big business and ourselves as well for getting America in a situation like this one! We are not deserving of such a great place on earth as America because we are too weak to defend her against the likes of her enemies today! Bush now wants unfettered access to trillions of taxpayer dollars representing almost the entire nations cash-on-hand reserves for his unabated personal use. This is simply not a form of democracy in America...it is a dictatorship move. |

Comment: I wonder how the Lord feels about
all those Iraqi babies and children
that have been killed in Bush's war.
That's ok with all you so called Christians after all we had to go
and get those weapons of mass destruction! You people should hang your heads in shame. Abortion
is wrong but so is a war based on lies. The Lord must be lokking down
with tears in his eyes. |

IBC and their unions would make better mushroom farms today, than their current acts are doing. I know they are really nervous over the upcoming elections and they each have "bet the farm" on Obama to first, pull their chestnuts out of bankruptcy; then to lead them into the rose-colored world of Socialism. A place where you and I will be expected to work our asses off in order to put food, shelter and clothing on the table for the unfortunate, the downtrodden and the misunderstood people in America and all those "other persons" abroad as well. The most contested presidential race for a long time, is coming down to asking the respective candidates now, all the hard questions like Illegals, social security, health care, home mortgages, gay marriages, guns in the home, an end to outsourcing American jobs, and a host of other like questions. Where they will not directly address these issues, we need to dump them in our nearest nuke site and push the button. |

Disgruntled and/or disembowled IBC employees (currently at 90% of their entire workforce) can take solace today in the fact that over 50% of Homeland Security employees (or 102,000 strong ) are also unhappy with their jobs, as well. It seems America now has two catagories for employees. The soon to be outsourced and the soon to be enslaved. |

Rep. Rangel proves today that you can still hold public office in America and make those life or death decisions for your trusting subjects while having Alzheimers's disease at the same time. On Friday, he called Sarah Palin "disabled" more than once. Then, after his staff advised him of the meaning of this word, he then attempted to change it to "disadvantaged" in order to cover it up. However, neither word would be correct in describing Palin. She is neither disadvantaged nor disabled! Which brings me to todays lesson on how to tell truth from fiction. You will not find truth by looking at a Liars' lips (with or without lipstick!). You must look in the World of Symbols for it! Good Luck! |

Teamster slave auctions at garage sale prices are on the rise in America, folks. And, the O. J. Simpson trial looks more like the Simpsons on T. V. show than mainstream news about hardened criminals. Clowns would be more like it. I'm surprised that he didn't tell everyone it was a yard sale not a robbery that was going on. And, if you don't see a gun is this not enough evidence to drop those charges from the list or what? Simpson was only doing "fast track" what Vegas does in real time...take you last dollar and leave ASAP. Or better yet, he could have said that it was Palace Station and called it a train robbery or a train wreck in progress! Have you noticed the type of eyeglasses (at the end of their noses) worn by the majority on the defense side in this trial. To me, this type of eyeglass wear means that the wearer does not want to admit to having to wear eyeglasses! They like to stand in the middle of the road like our politicians today, just in case they have to jump back to lie some more. |

Upper management had to sell there souls, and who do you think is going to pay for it, the rsr. concessions ive heard upwards of 150 per week. why not cut some more dead wait mgrs. The office people don't do dick, my manager has to go collect money because the office people are to stupid. you have 15 production workers standing around the henderson bakery, and they can't make a decent loave of bread to save there lives. Its all sales fault, you gotta hit your numbers, get your stale down. Mr Jung, how much of a pay cut /concession are you going to take? I want the company to survive but you want to take it from the people who bring in the money, if we have to take a pay cut every body should including you. |

Comment: Profit.....I'm not at all advocating wealth redistribution, simply requiring those who have been fortunate enough to use our financial system and population to gain their wealth to pay their fair share of the cost of running that system, which they currently do not. It should be obvious to most by now that the status quo is not working for the average hard-working employee. Most are at the mercy of their employers. The middle class is fast disappearing and will result in a lower the standard of living in the USA. Many people who currently think of themselves as middle class now are in actuality very nearly in the poverty class barely able to pay for basic necessities. Something must change...... What do YOU suggest.....a continuation of the same policies that are reducing us to third world status? |

Comment: Let's be careful when talk is about early retirement or buyouts. Early retirement has become the latest "loophole" companies are using to strip their pension commitment. Look at what happened to the steelmakers for example. Companies offer early retiremments whenever the company is in financial duress, then if they end up bankrupt and the PBGC takes the fund over..guess what..the PBGC only pays about 30% of your pension if you are under 65 when you retire. I don't trust the company and/or Ripplewood to be taking care of the pension funding as it is a liability. After Ripplewood finishes cleaning every bit of cash from us, we will still be left with nothing. It would be better to keep working unless you have a CASH buyout. Anything else is probably a calculated risk to rid us of our pensions by using early retirement. |

Comment: Profit........The problem is first of all, there are not enough prisons to hold all the guilty and further, there ill-gotten wealth allows them to retain the top law firms to shield them from prosecution. I'm all for the guy who works his tail off to get ahead and reaps his rewards but there are now far too many who simply steal from their employees and to make it worse, now are able to leave their ill-gotten gains to their family members and the cycle continues. Even Warren Buffet agrees that he is not taxed enough. The system is becoming very broken and needs to be fixed. Too many wealthy career politicians are unwilling to make the necessary changes. |

Comment: The Profit……You obviously subscribe to the Republican mantra and think it is so terrible to tax the rich and redistribute to others and at one point I would have been in agreement. However these are not normal times. There are now far too many grossly overpaid corporate executives who have attained their fortunes through sometimes questionable methods and almost always at the expense of their much lower paid employees. Hell, they would love it if you would be willing to work for minimum wage. More for them! What is so wrong about requiring them to share the profits? They, along with our government help have managed to minimize the strength of the unions and in the process are continuing to lower the standard of living for most. How ironic the many of the strongest unions are now government and public service sector employees. Please note it didn’t take those wealthy politicians long to agree to a financial bailout when they saw much of their invested wealth start to disappear. You no doubt will likely continue to vote for your Repubs like the sheep they think you are. Mr Jung will also thank you! |

Comment: I told all many months ago that BOONEVILLE didn't know shit. He was simply a "wanabe" that tried to convince everyone on this site that somehow he was 'connected." His last opinions on this site were the West to Bimbo, the Southeast and East to someone else....and IBC to close many plants. He was soooooo wrong. Company will emerge as a whole....but severe concessions given up by Teamsters that hopefully will result in better financial results for the company. Hopefully, not only are the Teamsters going to have to sacrifice, but there needs to be many lay offs in other departments in all plants....and sacrifices in pay and benefits from NON UNION employees. If there ever becomes a time when the Company thrives again, then all will have an opportunity to get some of the concessions back. That is how it works whether you like it or not. Bottom line is....you work for a very sick company...and you need to accept where they are....or move on. But in the meantime...it feels so good to hopefully tell all of you to disregard everything BOONEDICK has told you. BYE |

Comment: The company could then hire someone who is younger and faster and hasn't been subjected to the years of resentment and bad attitude that you OLD FARTS bring with you to work everyday. This company does not care about experience they have handhelds to do your job. They could get rid of you and people like you and have someone who is appreciative of their job being happy making 55,000 a year and paying for their benefits instead of listening to OLD FARTS like you complaining all the time |

Comment: "IF" there is a buyout the company could care less about your experience Old Fart. Your years of service and experience means nothing to this company. You are nothing more than a liability. the company could save vacation time, sick time and future workers comp time by getting rid of your slow ass, broken down, decrepid old body. |

To OYE in Biddeford, You need to look around my brother!! This Economy is in big trouble, nobody is happy with these cuts!! If you.ve been around for awhile then you know that labor is not strong right now, so you suck it up and take the cuts ,keep your job and live to fight another day! Now is not the time to make a stand as there is no way to win, If you have a family to support then you put your Sales Cap on and figure out a plan to make at least half of that cut back!! You might have to work harder but you can do it. If you take that $110 a week cut and put it towards your families medical you still would be about $400 short for the months premium!! Look if you still aren't happy then take the time from now until 2010 and line up your new job...It might just take you that long!!!!

Comment: to open your eyes. it seems you have done the exact opposite. listen to yourself. in the same sentence you say u need every cent. i do not think you realize how bad the economy really is. if this deal does not go through you will find out when your unemployment runs out and your working part time like 30 percent of the country is. then u will be kicking yourself in the ass. nobody is happy about this but u deal with it for a year or so. by then there will most likely be new owners. |

Comment: finally got the news today about what will be in the proposal. there will be a union meeting late this month. and if any of YOU my teamster brothers agree to this outlandish cut in pay then you need your heads examined. $110 a week cut in base. are you fucking kidding me. i would rather sadly see this company close down then go witrh the teamster proposal. bare in mind you fools that PTM if implamented after 2010 will result in even lower pay for all route salesman. the $30 co-pay is not unrealistic. i called the union hall when i got home and told them if they present this they should be decertified as a union. i say stand up we have given up enough already.. vote NO. tell them now no. have a set of balls. i need my job too but to sell my soul no way. the economy the way it is we need every cent. i work my ass off and dont want to give money away to the union. tell them lower their dues and see what they say! this shit is way out of hand. IBC IS SMILING ALL THE WAY TO THEIR BONUSES IF THIS GOES THRU. SCREW THIS NEW DEAL. |

To help defray the cost of printing, IBC and their unions have included "organ donor" language on your employee ballots and we thank you in advance for your more than generous donation. Biden needs to be reigned in just like Obama when it comes to making public his off the cuff remarks. His speech on TAKING verses TAXING $250.000 income earners at a higher rate and calling them Patriots in the process was downright stupid but revealing to the max. Maybe it's time to now refer to him as Robin Hood or Robbery Suspect. This fool evidently thinks anyone earning this amount or more has money to throw away. With the cost of living in America continuing to rise based upon the next business to file for bankruptcy, $250,000 a year is looking more like the new "living wage" taxpayers will need to tread water and not to drown in someone else's pool of debt. |

What is IBC policy for STOCK ON TRUCK? I am sitting here looking at settlement sheets from 65 routes and all but 2 have STOCK ON TRUCK. How can any route hope to keep stale down and sales up with STOCK ON TRUCK? How about taking 5 minutes longer and order properly. What pct. of that STOCK ON TRUCK is going to be STALE??? NICE JOB!!!!
..........................................
Sir, What is the policy on truck stock?.................. How can you run a Cake/Combo route without truck stock on a non-down day. We split trays of the slower selling cake products between the A & B side to reduce stale......... Why order 25 Suzy Q's on Thursday and another tray on Friday when you only sell (need) 10 - 12 per day?
We follow this proceedure on many of our slower selling items, or we split trays among routes if possible. |
