Wouldn't it be easier for the Southern California Hostess Drivers to be delivering bread and cake from a truck with bread rails (no aisle) than from a cake truck? We keep hearing about taking back the streets but in most areas IBC NEVER had to contend with any significant competition before. IBC owned the ONLY 2 major brands here and there was 1 regional brand (klosterman) IBC now has several competitors and all of them are profitable except IBC. They are staying here and will not give IBC the streets back. In the past IBC could run white bread on sale and sell the majority of units because the competitors would usually not have a sale at the same time. Now, if IBC runs a sale on white, there is usually someone else doing the same at the same time so we don't really generate a lot of additional units. Then while we are promoting white bread, someone else is promoting variety so we lose units in variety at the same time. In the past when we had a sale, the competitors would be worried and cut their orders back to almost nothing, now they order the same amount or I've even seen them order more and put their product on display right next to ours even though it is a higher price. It's not the "good old days" folks and IBC is not going to take the streets back !!

Uno, you are right about most of your comment. We work for about 1/4 of what we use to make. Most supervisors work their humps off also. The only difference is that they get a big fat bonus. About 5 grand. You know almost the same amount that we had to give up a year. Oh, and they didn't have to take a pay cut either. I have never seen a company that just didn't give a crap about it's employees like this one. Especially the rsr's!!!!!! We are treated like red headed stepchildren. In the past our pay made up for all of the BS. Now there is just no reason to stay around. Most good salesmen, including myself, are just hanging around until something better comes up.

MOrale how low can it go?as a sales rep ,i bust my hump 10-12 hours a day for half of what i used to make,does anybody say thanks for service to all stops in this snowstorm when others came back early(No) we used to make fair money and get appreciated for a job well done,our depot managers are not to blame for the whole mess were in now,most, not all work there hump off too,but with old trucks,ancient software and poor qaulity control,not to mention no really new blood in executive positions ,we have no traction to climb this mountian to get to where we need to be.And that is the #1 baker in the country.we need to ALL pull together in these tough times to make this company what it once was and hopefully be able to earn a GOOD,not just(FAIR) wage for the time and energy we supply this co.But before that can happen we need changes in upper mngmt,now i've never met alot of execs in this co but have heard of threats to take our jobs ,shut us down etc.Cmon people come up with some real ideas to help increase sales and drive up morale.or as i have heard before(MOVE ON)maybe listen to your sales force ,cause without us thre are no sales And where is my Christmas card.

As sales reps. we have to ask ourselves, How many displays did I put up today? How many displays did I ask for today? WalMart has proven you don't need a salesmen to fill shelves. If someone asks you what % am I making on that, or what do I have to sale that for to make 37%. Can you tell them? If you answered none or no to any of these questions. You are by choice, a delivery person and are probably over paid.

They have MADE me “part of their problem” and now it is THEIR job to regain my respect and commitment.
