Comment:
Unemployment continues to climb with some American cities and states now reaching 27.5 %. Of those 18 areas now with a jobless rate of 15% or more, 8 are in California and 5 are in Michigan. Our national economy is tanked and our nation's taxpayers are now left standing behind third-world nations, as their jobs are converted and packaged for overseas shipment at an alarming rate. Prime time news media groups continue to hide the truth for fear of an all-out stampede and the beginnings of an unfettered inflationary fallout. If you have anything worth keeping at all today, you can forget the home alarm systems. The only thing that's going to be effective against angry groups of down and out taxpayers seeking to invade your space, threaten your life and plunder your goods, are wholesale bullets! |

Comment: I have been laid off for nearly 2 years now. While I was looking for another paper I c ame across a memo from Orange County District Manager Mike Gordon. It read like this, " keep Fri/Sat orders big. I know you've been having to add the last two weeks. It's difficult to find sales in a slow time." Now this may have been a few years ago, but it is probably a contributing factor in the high stales that we were having at that time. Good thing he is now cleaning swimming pools for a living. I just had to laugh when I found this memo. |

Dramatic, broad gains in Bimbo U.S. business

MEXICO CITY — Operating income of Bimbo Bakeries USA was NP1,233 million ($93.5 million) in the second quarter ended June 30, compared with a loss of NP35 million during the same period last year.
The U.S. operating income was only a shade beneath the NP1,429 million earned by the company’s anchor Mexico segment. Operating margins were 9.7% for B.B.U., versus negative margins a year earlier of 0.8%. The improvement principally reflected the integration of B.B.U. East (George Weston Bakeries, Inc., acquired in January) but also reflected productivity gains in both the company’s U.S. regions and cost savings resulting from the integration.
Excluding the acquisition, the operating margin would have been 6.2% in the second quarter. B.B.U. sales increased to NP12,694 million ($963 million) from NP4,294 million in the second quarter of 2008. The integration of B.B.U. East, organic growth resulting from pricing actions and strength in the U.S. dollar drove the growth.
"As expected from the integration process, the strongest growth in the quarter came from national accounts," Bimbo said.
Excluding the acquisition, dollar sales in the quarter would have risen 0.4% in the second quarter. On a company-wide basis, sales rose 43% and net majority income increased 70% for Grupo Bimbo S.A.B. de C.V. in the second quarter versus the same period last year. Second-quarter sales were NP28,581 million ($2,168 million), up from NP19,996 million. Excluding the U.S. acquisition, sales would have risen 4.6%. Second-quarter net income was NP1.4 billion ($106 million).

Comment: I agree. Everyone has their hand in your order. Your supervisor, the MUGM, the account rep all plus out product from time to time to "Make their numbers" Then you get some dumbass who comes around with a fucking form for you to fill out because your stale is too high. All of a sudden its your fault. Get a clue management. Youre competing against yourselves. Turn us loose and let us go get the competition. Not spend time spinning our wheels. |

Comment: i f or the life of me cant understand even after all this time management doesnt get it about lack of quality. i turned in a fresh but soaked bread the other day that came back in a store and i saw it in the rubbish this morning. so do you want to bet it never went to the plant(sales office is 20 miles away). how many customers will we lose becasue they have found a better and cheaper product? 3 months ago they talked about taking back the streets and we have done chit about it. where are the tools mentioned that are available?. acct reps should be replaced. we have case after case of specail stickers with prices that will be be never there. but try to find one with WITH CARD. i get them from other bread companies. its not easy to care anymore losing over $230 a week. use to work pull forward for extra vacation loot. now it helps pay the bills. sucky summer weather wise doesnt help. now these people are playing with the orders to get numbers up. cant get number up when you just lost over 30 feet in major super reset. had more space 10 years ago for gosh sake. 20 feet went to their program bread. grrrrrrrr we are surely headed in the wrong direction. does anyone remember them saying they want input from us? yeah right! is anyone selling natures pride? sitting everywhere? way too many store brand premium breads! |

Comment: San Diego; where are these Mexican of which you speak of? These little fuckers know the game better than anyone. You’re right about they don’t speak up – that’s because they have La Raza or their attorneys doing the speaking for them. They ain’t the same meek Mexicans of yesteryear, these fuckers DEMAND and get everything they feel they should have coming their way…and more. I’ve seen H.R. bent over backwards and bend every rule in the book to keep from these little bastards happy. |

Comment: I had a professor of Bussines Management from SanDiego State Unveristy ide with me years ago. He could not believe why we had all the PA's on our Hostess product. He said we have the #1 product on the market. If it were price right, you should never have any returns. There really needs to be new lower pricing. Get rid of all these PA's. Back to the KISS system. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID |

Comment: The problem with IBC products is that people used to automatically pick up our bread every week no matter what the price was. There have always been good quality competitors but our customers didn't buy them. Then we began making inferior product on a consistent basis. Then our loyal customers tried those other products and like them just as much or even better than they used to like ours even when the quality was good. Now they are loyal to our competitors brand and have no reason to come back to ours even if we improve our quality. Our competitors will not give the business away like we did. Our competitors are not stupid like IBC management and will never give our business back and we can't take it back. Our upper management has never had a real job and doesn't have a clue. We are screwed. |

Comment: open, the economy is the bottom line. Company tried to get back into some big business it lost ant couldn't. Wrong angle with the right products. Just had to kiss the ass of a super target where our guy is going to get hammered because right acroos the street at A super walmart the consumer can buy the same loaf of bread and save 1.22 . The same price as the market pantry bread displayed right next to him. I've been scrambling since October last year. The company needs to get it's act together and fast, not the little stuff like Bimbo is chomping at the bits to get into Xtra Mart but the real stuff. By the way the price reduction comig next month might help. |

Comment: You can count on all of your future summers to suck !! Your product sucks and your past regular customers have tried your competitors products and will not come back. IBC enjoyed having popular labels which many people were raised on when there were only a limited number of brands available in the major chains which had a very limited bread aisle as compared to todays superstores. There are literally hundreds of different varieties available in the current superstores with most of them being of better quality at a better price than IBC product. IBC is DONE !!!! Comment: dan bedford. no problem. this has been the worse summer i have ever seen. even my non super walmart sucks. they wanted 2 displays for rolls on weekends and i had been staling 80% of it with the weather and economy. dan i cant put a finger on what has happened at hannaford. it use to be my number one stop. now is number 4. will be worse with space cut. country kitchen has licked our ass in rolls. hannaford refused IBCs 2 for $5 roll special. that hurt too. i figured with bid business gone there is no way in hell to make up $1500 aweek. now add that to concessions dan and as of right now i could give a chit. even quality is sucking again. by the way this is my 30 year in bread business. good luck to you. glad your business is good there tho. take care |

Comment: One of our DSM's is going on vacation for the next couple of weeks. Left a note for the shippers about the 10, 000 dollars of product he plussed to a route... if it comes in spread it around. Got to hit numbers. Had my MUGM in a meeting last week after firing off an email to corporate. Seems the BUGM wants to keep things in check but has no idea what's going on. Can't get product thats ordered but here is a sheet that shows your numbers on items are down, what should we do. Dollars are up over last year, categories have changed but we need to gain back these units.. Walk in my shoes and do a better job then talk to me. |

Comment: dan very simple math. in one hannaford had 5 1/2 feet bread space up and down on 7 shelves. now down to 3 1/2 thats minus 2 feet per shelf. 7 shelves thats 14 feet. now add in 8 ft section with natures pride that 22 feet in just one store in bread. in that same store lost 9 1/2 feet of cake space. so in just one store thats 31 feet lost. lost more bread space in another hannaford no cake loss space. simple math dan. doesnt take much to know we are not agressive in specials. why the hell do we have rye bread on deal? no volumn there. |

What's next, folks! Today's news brings us closer to death just by eating at Denny's! A lawsuit filed in New Jersey seeking class action status, is telling us citizens that Dennys' errant use of salt in their cooked meals are instant heart stoppers ( The Grand Slammer) for you and I! Next we have a story about out-of-work citizens across America filing for their benefits and starving to death because their States are behind the eight ball when it comes to processing their Claimant workloads according to federal law timelines and several of them are robbing Peter to pay Paul. Why? Because some 31 states simply are broke themselves! Some Claimants are reporting having to wait six months just to be told to continue to wait even longer, before their first checks arrive. The saddest part is these same States don't even answer their call lines! Too many calls, and even less people to answer their phone lines to help the unemployed in America! In California for example, a report by their state auditor last year found their Appeals Board was rife with nepotisim and mismanagement. Where is the accountability, folks! |

Comment: Open, not disbelieving you but finding it hard to fathom that type of loss that fast. Should have seen it coming. Fly I understand the end caps we have and is this where we lost most of the space. Yes nature's pride is arnold and pepperidge premium and when on sale does well otherwise it occupies space. Had a nice chat with my MUGM the other day and the company is looking into issues. There is a lot that needs to be done and I have seen a more aggressive approach that the company is taking. Still they need to do more. As you have said 2.29 versus 1.99 is not going to cut it. |

Comment: Former IBC Manager: You must be kidding to call yourself a Manager. You were not able to mange yourself out of a wet paper bag when you did show up for work and now that your no longer there look who is calling the kettle black. You were and still are a piece of shit. Ron Durbin is an asshole trying to show his net worth to the company while swallowing for Bill D, who by the way is also heading for the new company or until I advise them of what a mistake that would be.
Fat Man: You go bro and continue to kick ass because none of them have a clue as to what a company should or should not be. I guess all that ass kissing and swallowing was in vein to bad they couldn't just do their jobs. The Northwood facility is the arm pit of the company and nobody is coming up smelling like a rose there, thats for sure. |

Comment: dan in mass. i am sure each area is different. this is a tuesday fact no bullchit. at 3 hannaford stores reset. in bread and cake we lost 59 feet of actual space. i could care less about losses in natures pride.space the stuff doesnt sell when its not on deal. ton of stale on that product. sell maybe 4 or 6 a day. had space for 35 facings. those 3 staores are test stores. if their new scheme works they will reset all of hannafords this fall. for long time now our specials have been blah. management blames hannaford. then i say give them a special that sells. nissen wheat is $2.29.on deal 2 other companies wheat is $1.99. its a no brainer why we have low units and sales. its a bread war. you must have a different type of market dan! my boss says the whole northeast is down compared to last year. drastically down. is that true i cant say. i have not seen real figures. |

Comment: There IS stock with any corporation. It is not publicly traded and is not available for sale unless the owners make it available. Many privately owned corporations issue stock to key employees or all employees (sometimes it is a different "class" of stock) which is why you hear some companies state they are "employee owned". So yes, there is stock. |

Comment:
Our once former robust and healthy economy in the USA, is gone forever folks! The jobs that once produced and nurtured middleclass Americans are now relocated in third-world nations, thanks to our local, state and federal governments. Big Business paid each of them in order to destroy American life on planet earth. These are the same businesses that you and I have been forced to bail out and to pay billions of dollars to, for their so-called bonus packages and retirement benefits, as well. These people are traitors who cloak themselves and gather together behind closed doors to conceal their true nature and themselves, from public scorn. The very heart of our nation has been ripped out and trampled upon for what? Big bucks and even more personal power against what's right in America! Unemployment will continue to rise and single-family home ownership will all but disappear because of it. All remaining jobs in America will be reset to peasant-wage levels and we will then have completely socialized-out our country to those same third-world nations, where any attempt for recovery whatsoever is futle, at best! Change indeed has arrived in American folks and it was driven here by the Big Three (Greed, Graft and Corruption). |

Comment: Welcome back, Boonville, fly, & Dirty! So, What do you think Boonville? Did you say, you think Hostess will be sold to Pepsi/Frieto lay? In Calif. they need the combo products in order for the routes to be profitable for the company. What will happen if they take away one or the other? Is it really more profitable to have loaders, helpers shaging product, and routes guys? Your paying 3 people to do what one person did before, It seems to me , it would be better in the long run to just have more manageable routes running a decent volume. I understand they would like to try some new things, like convience store routes, all super market routes, club stores, vending accounts etc.? But come on, have you forgotten one simple business rule? The KISS principle(keep it simple stupid)!---- a favor of your reply would be greatly appreciated. |

Comment: God I hope they don’t bring back any kind of French beard. When they bought Parisian San Diego they got a $4500 route average and in 1 year we were lucky if we had 1 foot of space for it. Some of the routes were running over $8000.00 and that is a lot for French bread. This company took the #1 French bread in San Diego and threw it away. We worked hard and took over from Oreweat and they pissed it away. With that said I hope they stick to white bread until they get it right. |

There is no current stock. The old stock is gone/worthless. You will also not be able to get an understanding of how the company is doing. Now that is is privately owned, IBC is not obligated to publish results. |

YOU NO LONGER ARE AN IBC EMPLOYEE. i heard transport people say its no big deal i make up concessions in overtime! guess what dickheads no more overtime. you should have never been part of vote to begin with. hopefully when you start getting just trip pay you will lose over $5000 a year like most rsrs. so at least some justice is made. for anyone of you with a brain you can see we are losing large market shares outhere. OR HENDERSON LOL AND NO THEY WILL NOT OPEN POMONA BUT THEY COULD CAUSE ALL WETBACKS WILL WORK FOR $10.00 A HOUR WITH NO UNION THATS WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOUTHERN CAL. TO MANY FUCKING MEXICANS WILL WORK FOR NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF Mr. blow me wonder bread?
When I read your post I wanted to slap the shit out of you! Instead I will slap the shit out of your mama for raising such a dumb bitch!
This company could just as easily pack up all of California’s and Nevada’s production (bread, rolls and cake) and move it all to Mexico. It takes a matter of hours to distribute product to your region. With the preservative ingredients available nowadays, nationwide distribution maybe something considered for the future. Then, where would we be?
With all due respect, may I suggest that you try the new buttery spread “Smart Balance” to improve your imbalance and intelligence deficiencies? The next time you open your Hostess pie hole, put some thought behind it or have your mama proof read it. BTW This is not a race issue either. I would close the plant also if it was full of fucks like you!
Now, with that said...
STFU and go get me a beer!

Comment: Boonville glad to have you back. Davenport the pre-sell system that the company is moving towards will definitely create more stale, hence the re-opening of the thrift stores. Prior to closing these they accounted for 11% of our business, that's a big number. Problem is with the pre-sell system you need to focus on large format stores which may ultimately lead them to finally get out of or alter the 20$ a week store format which wastes time and effort. Next you consolidate (cut routes), and/or sell off parts (cake), that fit into other companies business models (Pepsico). I think you know where I'm going Boonie. |

Comment: FLY...FLY...FLY....still trying to guess my true identity, huh? I told you before I was NOT Barry Brakeman and that I left the Company shortly before Barry did. Saw a post earlier where someone said that they missed my posts, since most of what I said turned out to be true. A wise person (who also left IBC and went to work for a competitor) told me very soon after Jung, McFarlane, Loeser, and the rest of them took over to get the hell out of Dodge. I tried to tell you many things were going to change now that IBC was out of BK. You see, your unions proved that they were no match for IBC and could not challenge IBC. And why oh why would a former Pepsi/Frito Lay exec move IBC's offices closer to Pepsi/Frito Lay's offices in Texas? More changes are coming down the pike, and they are going to result in there being fewer and fewer IBC employees while IBC leadership continues to operate on the path to destruction. |

Comment: What happens when you walk into a major on Monday that had a bad weekend and they refuse your entire order which is all going in the back room ?? Maybe the HHC will convince them to change their mind. Or like you said, the bakery cuts you or your load is shorted. Their presell system would just have you run out of product before you finish your route. Oh well, we'll just get thrown out of some major stops and then our routes will be a lot easier. |

Comment: Unfortunately the software and hardware the company is previewing is for pre-sell. They have no idea that you can't pre-sell what you don't get. Our only advantage is the adaptability to shift the load where it is most advantageous. If i have 20 classic in a major do I still need the 16 I may have ordered, who knows only the route saleseman. They believe that this will save time but we still walk into c-stores that the competition won't touch. Talk about saving time. |

Comment: I heard we are getting state-of-the-art Hand helds designed specifically for IBC. They have a scanner so you don't have to key in the item #. You just scan the UPC and it enters the item itself. The only complicated part of learning it will be the 2 different keypads. It has one keypad just for carry-over and returns which can be used to enter numbers up to 10,000. The special keyboard for sales only just goes to 10. But don't worry, that is as high as we'll need to go. They are sold at TOYS-R-US for $11.99 and made by the ETCH-A-SKETCH company |

Comment: IBC has never been worse than they are now. Our quality is consistently poor on virtually every product. Natures Pride was supposed to save us and now I have even had customers tell me over the last couple weeks that Natures Pride is dry and even has mold before the expiration date on the bag. I don't even bother telling management because I've been telling them our quality is poor for the last few years and they don't care. NEITHER DO I !!!!! IT IS JUST A PAYCHECK. |

Comment:
Forget watching competitive sports in America like baseball and football, folks! That's because there is a battle brewing between two package delivery giants (UPS and FedEx) now before Congress, that will knock your socks off, for bloodletting purposes! What's the difference you ask? Try the one time price of admission against a lifetime of price increases! That's right! You and I are at the heart of this battle and its outcome will determine the right of every American to be free of absolute government control. American Free Enterpise will die and you and I will also die with it! UPS is paying big money to big politicians to see that FedEx is throttled with localized labor unions under the National Labor Relations Act verses the Railway Labor Act which FedEx enjoys today, as their (UPS) prime competitor! Know this folks! America benefits by open competition across the board. The products and services that you and I purchase from these two turkeys should not be restrained of trade nor price! UPS wants to bend the rules simply because they are big enough to bully their way into our everyday lives. And believe me, I don't favor FedEx either, when it come to how they treat their own employees and contractors. What I do know is that I will continue to benefit from both their services as long as each of them are free themselves to battle openly, without one of them making backroom deals with our crooked congress for favors! |

Dave G, is still waiting to come out, Ron D. is still hitting that round ass from HR in the parking lot, and claims he knows what is going on, as for that cow HR manager and her Q-Tip with lips in Accounting friend I am sure they are still shitting on all the employees. That whole place is a fuckup and the leadership from the top that visit the facility are as cluless as they are effective. |

Are they going to reopen any of the plants? I recently saw one of the shut down locations and all the equipment is still in place, as if everybody just went home for the evening. The building is beautiful and it would be great to repurpose it but I have found it increasingly tough to get a call back from the company or its property representation. |

Comment: for the life of me i cant understand why the hell they think PTM is going to turn a profit. i semi junk that this company puts out i can guess why our sales are down. new handhelds arent going to in crease sales. with bimbo always (and i mean always) running some type of bogo and supers running their private label premiums on deal we seem to be falling in the market place. skull unless you have a super walmart route i sincerely doubt you sold 1000 rolls week of the 4th. and your stupid IBC one 2 three is getting fin old. lets ee skull! IBC has no roll program in 300 super walmarts and no cake program in 182 bj club accounts. so mr. skull i dont think IBC is taking back the streets. its tough to be agressive and care losing over $200 aweek now. does anyone know ! with branch managers having cell phones> why did they need to get BLACKBERRIES? MORE WASTLESS SPENDING! WHY DID CORP. MOVE TO DALLAS? MORE WASTELESS SPENDING! WHY WHEN WE EXITED BANKRUPCY AND RSRS TOOK IT UP THE ASS. DID ALL NON UNION PERSONAL GET A RAISE? DOES ANYONE WANT TO WAGER ! I WOULD BET WE ARE STILL LOSING LOTS OF MONEY. YOU WANT TO BET SKULL? |

Comment:
How would you like to own the bank account necessary to pay your employees at the rate of some $80 million a day? That's where one state is today in paying out jobless benefits to their unemployed workers! As a solution, their governator has called for changes which could include an increase in employer contributions, tighter eligibility requirements and an overall decrease in unemployment benefits! What their governator fails to realize is the problem! The problem cries out for resolution, folks and this guy is not only dumbed down to the max, but can't see past his own nose! Employers are dropping like flies in his state for any number of reasons and those employers who do remain viable are not wealthy enough to simply pony up billions of needed dollars to cover current unemployment benefits. Further tightening of eligibility rules for the unemployed would not only be a death sentence but cruel and unusual punishment for what? Being out of work because their state bureaucrat's fueled the flames of unemployment and allowed many of the causes for same to strike their state in the first place. Decreasing unemployment benefits for the unemployed from the current levels now set by law, simply because state lawmakers are too stupid to do their own jobs would be a form of scapegoating and unconstitutional as well. The saddest part of all the above, lies in the fact that today's politicians are rooted in greed, graft and corruption. Many of them would never pass the 5th grade exams and are too busy oinking to supply the needed solutions to today's public problems. |

Comment: Bossass,You have to be one of the more clueless boss's on this site. You sound like Obama saying be patient. He's fucking the country up and buttheads like you are STILL fucking IBC up.Why don't you tell us all how much more product we're going to sell with new software? And printers? How about some new trucks dickhead. That would get us to our stops faster then 50mph.These 1980 trucks will not last forever you know.Whats up with us maybe getting different mechanics to solve the problems this staff has already mastered? These guys are working magic to keep these older trucks going. But thats not the IBC way is it,If its working, something must be wrong, lets get new mechanics and let go of the good ones.I give up,you win. |

Comment: i have never seen so much natures pride come back from all routes. if it isnt on deal it doesnt sell. why! because most of the super markets now have their own private label premium lines. and they run them on deal all the time. so far summer business is bad. wal-mart sold only 50 rolls out of over 300 and it was sunny both sat. and sunday. mom and pops are history. yet they are a major concern for returns. way too many 7-.11 type stores. 10 in 8 out. |

Comment: Boss Man:When the supervisors were pulled out of the union they all got a pay raise. They were given $70,000.00 per year and not many if any sups were making that. As far as the people above the supervisor they all got and are getting bonuses. So all this crap about the poor management does not wash with me. First thing this co should do is get back its space and customers. What good is a $1000.00 handheld and printed if you don’t sell the product. That is the problem with this Co everything is ass backwards. |

Comment: Gary - In case you didnt know, you dont go from losing millions per quarter to making money in your first quarter exiting BK. you may not be able to fathom this, but be patient. A lot of money is going into fixing things and upgrading things. You are about to get new hand held software. Printers are next. Then new hand helds. But all of this costs money. And yes your bosses did take a pay cut. It was almost 6 years ago they took a 5% pay cut. And they havent seen any of that back yet either. 6 years is a lot longer than the 6 months you have went. So cut the guys some slack. You cant fix 8 years of fucked up in 6 months. |

Comment: We had a competition, I think, company wide starting after the exit from bankruptcy protection for increase in sales. Four weeks into the 16 week competition we had numbers posted in our depot. The "sales incentive program" ended May 28th. Nobody knows the results. I can walk into a major account on a friday and get more info from them about the days sales then I can from the company a week ahead. Have to have other majors print up signs for sales because we pay Windsor Marketing to print the wrong signs and nobody cares. I could go on and on about the problems with the company including having employees resign to transfer. Love the job just hate the puppet-masters. |

Cut the bloated mgmt. ranks, streamline bureaucratic mgmt. structure., streamline product list. What does IBC do? Change there mgmt. titles to some other name and come out with a new bread called Natures Pride and new flavored strawberry ho hos and cupcakes. What a bunch of fat fucks. |

When you have the right stuff (bullshit and billions of dollars) and the right governmental friends in top government like GM and Chrysler does today in Obama, then you too can wash your debts away and step out of the BK showers in 30 days or less, financially born again! The only ones left hurting at the altars of human sacrifice, are the American taxpayers, who apparently are brain-dead by now! Numbskulls who trusted too much in other people and in their government, for their own good. |

Comment: Hey who's running the shop in Northwood???? Oh wait aminute they are use to not fixing the equipment and letting Transportation Managers run fleet maintenance. I guess it is not that hard to do it from the van in the parking lot with the assistant HR manager. Besides the fleet is being managed by a drunk and an Italian that can't seem to get up off his knees. I guess it is true then, "An organizations successfulness is direct reflection of its leadership." No wonder IBC is doing soooo well. Suckers |

Obama says he will create millions of jobs in America, folks! Unless he plans on contracting out American labor to third world nations, this is a lie! Why? The Middle Class in America has effectively been eliminated and their jobs have been ourtsourced to other nations. A system of downsizing is now under way wherein you and I will be lucky to avoid starvation, let alone the shutting down of the America we all knew and loved. |

Comment:
Interstate has not only lost their place in line, folks, but they also lost their vision of future consumer generations to come. They don't know the difference between a "dead goose" and a "golden egg" simply because their leaders are losers who have transformed themselves into bottom feeders! The only shelf space they now find open for their products, are located in "death row." I like to call this natural selection of elimination, Poetic Justice! |

Won't be enough to offset major losses in other areas. Will sell or close some of those areas down after California is on track. They must keep the revenue up to keep their large salaries and huge bonuses. |

Comment: I drink because I’m misunderstood. How would you feel if you knew that your boss didn’t think much of you? That the only reason you’re still around is because of your longevity with the company; otherwise you’ll be history. If you knew that your boss couldn’t wait for you to retire so that he could immediately replace you with his protégé he’s been grooming and training in another plant. How would you feel that after the many years of blood, sweat and tears I’ve invested with this company, your boss makes you feel like a liability and not an asset to this company? This is the reason I keep coming here, this is the only place I feel understood, the only place I have real friends..and now you want me to leave? Hiccups…Hiccups… |

Comment: To Grand Rapids and Buffalo-I understand what you were saying. My point is if you leave the GPS on the trucks long enough trends evolve. Once you get averages on how long certain stops take, simple math. You add in some buffer time. It isn't an exact science, but isn't it better than some DSM or Area Manager sitting in an office with a big map and push pins. Taking care of a couple of their buddies will screwing some guys giving them all the stops that do 30-50 bucks a week. My point is just because it is technology or a new way to do things doesn't always mean it is bad. The philosophy of "we have always done it this way" doesn't work anymore. Ask the automakers, or any other company getting bailout money. |

Comment: Anonymous, I understand exactly how the GPS works. It works as Anonymous in Buffalo stated. I explained in my original post that it can't calculate anything but directions and that is true. It works well for tracking your trucks and delivery times in real time but cannot "predict" or calculate, so it is useless to use GPS to restructure routes. |

Comment: Anonymous,Your right,it does more than just map out a rt but the reason UPS and Truckers have them is to BIGBROTHER them all day long. They need to know where their driver is if a customer calls for a whereabout of their package. Also to make sure their not screwing around for no reason at all.Well,in our biz,it takes time to do a stop.Anywhere from 20min to 2hrs.We're salesmen not dropping off a package. If they ask me why were you at Wal-mart so long i'd tell them to get off your ass and try it yourself in a quicker amount of time.Thats the problem with our country today.1984was written 25 yrs too early but it does seem to be happing.Bigbrother is indeed watching. |

Comment: I response to Grand Rapids and the GPS issue. Evidently you don't understand how modern GPS systems work. They download to a computer system. This system is able to tell how long you are at each location, how long you are driving, speed, etc. It interfaces with advanced mapping technology that will account for routing and "no left turn" locations. GPS systems are used by nearly all the major trucking companies to monitor their trucks. UPS has been using GPS technology for about a decade. Look it up. Saves them hundreds of millions a year. |

Comment: GPS can ONLY account for directions !!! It does not account for streets with "no left turn" or where it is virtually impossible to turn left into an account due to traffic. It can not account for drive time because it doesn't have the ability to control traffic. It doesn't calculate time to pull returns, count carryover, rotate product, pull your order, wait for the receiver to return from a bathroom break or scheduled break. It doesn't consider waiting for vendors ahead of you to get checked in and then for you to get checked in. It doesn't account for talking to a manager about displays or helping a customer find a product. It doesn't account for hand selling or tucking tails on our inferior loaves of shit.
Basically, it is fucking useless !!!
Mapquest furnishes the same information !! Anyone who has any idea about the bread and cake business understand using the GPS for running a route is a waste of time but we all know the idiots who decided to use GPS are clueless. |

Comment: Gary,I remember them useing the GPS system at least 7-8yrs ago to set up rts but they can't tell you you have to run the rt exactly that way.How does the GPS know when your accounts are going to be open or closed? The hrs in accounts differ from one another.I believe it's only used for setting the rt up geographicly,Hell,i have stores that don't open til 9am and have been there later only to see the store still not open. They can't possibly enforce it,and if so,work your 9hrs a day and go home.No OT,no work.We as a UNION need to adhere to are contract or else it won't work. They can say well Dick is working the extra hrs why can't you,BS we all need to stick together or else it just won't work.Don't you agree? |

Comment: Gary,Our contract says 45hr work week,no OT.They CAN"T force you to work any more then the contract allows, but a TON of rt assholes do put in 55-60hrs and cry about how the job sucks but it's their choice to stay out all hrs of the day and the company loves it.Why wouldn't they, |

Comment: SoCal, good for you. Hope everything works out for you, Family is #1 in my book. Thats the reason i went too wok for CBC. But that all changed when IBC took over. My wife was at stay at home mom. Both my boys grew up to be outstanding young men. Good luck Socal. |

Comment: So cal (Palm Springs) Yes it is my choice not to come back and I did not put anyone down that has to work for IBC. IBC is just not a Co. that I will work for because of the way they treat their employees. It’s not the Co. that just gives you a good wage and benefits they have to do it because of a thing called a contract. You say you have been off for 20 months why didn’t you go find another job are you that lazy? I can see why IBC would want you back. I have moved on I have a good job that doesn’t pay as much but the benefits are just as good and I have weekends off to be with my family. Something I gave up 19 years ago so I could have a career with IBC and retire but they screwed that up on Oct.2007 when they laid off 1000+ employees for nothing. SoCal was not the worst producer in the Co they just wanted to prove a point to the Teamsters. So you can work for them I just won’t. They lost I win. |

Comment: Do any RSR get Overtime pay? By which having a route review. How manys hours is too many? I put in 53 to 60 a week, depending on whats going on. Just wondering about everyone else. Has anyone heard from Jung? Is IBC making any money, or just flushing down the toilet, into their own personal bank account? |

Comment: Q: What’s the difference between Michael Jackson and a grocery bag?
A: One is white, made out of plastic, and dangerous for kids to play with and the other you carry your groceries in.

Comment: So Cal San Diego , It's your opinion and choice not to come back but have the balls not to run us down> we need positive people to come back .IBC will be just fine.If all the recalls come back with 100 percent give it all you got attitude.I have been laid off 20 months now. I am waiting to get recalled and to return to the routes. If your not happy move on.But if you chose to come back be happy come back with a winning attitude. Give IBC a chance and we will kick the other bread guys butts. I personally am here to get a job and that all that matters to me.I will get displays and do whatever it takes to get a route, keep my job and be happy to be back.Go Team so cal palmsprings |

Comment: We had Sunday & Monday off here in the NW for two years, it was sweet. But they took it away two years. I really felt like a had a real life. One can had more time doing things with their family with two days off in a row. For all the hours we all put in, we should only work 4 days a week. Vote for me. LOL |
