The problem with IBC products is that people used to automatically pick up our bread every week no matter what the price was. There have always been good quality competitors but our customers didn't buy them. Then we began making inferior product on a consistent basis. Then our loyal customers tried those other products and like them just as much or even better than they used to like ours even when the quality was good. Now they are loyal to our competitors brand and have no reason to come back to ours even if we improve our quality. Our competitors will not give the business away like we did. Our competitors are not stupid like IBC management and will never give our business back and we can't take it back. Our upper management has never had a real job and doesn't have a clue. We are screwed.

dan very simple math. in one hannaford had 5 1/2 feet bread space up and down on 7 shelves. now down to 3 1/2 thats minus 2 feet per shelf. 7 shelves thats 14 feet. now add in 8 ft section with natures pride that 22 feet in just one store in bread. in that same store lost 9 1/2 feet of cake space. so in just one store thats 31 feet lost. lost more bread space in another hannaford no cake loss space. simple math dan. doesnt take much to know we are not agressive in specials. why the hell do we have rye bread on deal? no volumn there.

There IS stock with any corporation. It is not publicly traded and is not available for sale unless the owners make it available. The transport drivers at this location are thieves (stealing time by stopping at rest areas, sitting at the hammond pad, etc...). The OTR mechanics at this location are/were just flat out lazy. Boonville glad to have you back. Davenport the pre-sell system that the company is moving towards will definitely create more stale, hence the re-opening of the thrift stores. Prior to closing these they accounted for 11% of our business, that's a big number. Problem is with the pre-sell system you need to focus on large format stores which may ultimately lead them to finally get out of or alter the 20$ a week store format which wastes time and effort. Next you consolidate (cut routes), and/or sell off parts (cake), that fit into other companies business models (Pepsico). I think you know where I'm going Boonie.

Defiance, what kind of ordering system do you currently have that a major might refuse your delivery? We are able to alter everything at the stop and if worse comes to worse roll into the next day and alter the week out.

What happens when you walk into a major on Monday that had a bad weekend and they refuse your entire order which is all going in the back room ?? Maybe the HHC will convince them to change their mind. Or like you said, the bakery cuts you or your load is shorted. Their presell system would just have you run out of product before you finish your route. Oh well, we'll just get thrown out of some major stops and then our routes will be a lot easier.

Unfortunately the software and hardware the company is previewing is for pre-sell. They have no idea that you can't pre-sell what you don't get. Our only advantage is the adaptability to shift the load where it is most advantageous. If i have 20 classic in a major do I still need the 16 I may have ordered, who knows only the route saleseman. They believe that this will save time but we still walk into c-stores that the competition won't touch. Talk about saving time.

I heard we are getting state-of-the-art Hand helds designed specifically for IBC. They have a scanner so you don't have to key in the item #. You just scan the UPC and it enters the item itself. The only complicated part of learning it will be the 2 different keypads. It has one keypad just for carry-over and returns which can be used to enter numbers up to 10,000. The special keyboard for sales only just goes to 10. But don't worry, that is as high as we'll need to go. They are sold at TOYS-R-US for $11.99 and made by the ETCH-A-SKETCH company

IBC has never been worse than they are now. Our quality is consistently poor on virtually every product. Natures Pride was supposed to save us and now I have even had customers tell me over the last couple weeks that Natures Pride is dry and even has mold before the expiration date on the bag. to the st.louis plant. with sales down, reducing shifts, donuts and cake lines. your plant also complied very easily with the co. on agreeing with opening the contract, and agreeing with the concessions. the co. is seeking away to further the cuts and concessions. just a small example, starting with your attendance program. now that they have your feathers ruffled. they are just as sure to keep on plucking away again. get yourself ready for more cuts..............

Boss man go blow it out your ass. We route driver in the Northwest have taken two pay cuts. If you rember three or four years ago we took a cut in our base pay. The next month latter you went and spent that money on that piece of shit movie "Talladega Nights". So don't come on here and start whinning on how you people have not gotten anything. i have never seen so much natures pride come back from all routes. if it isnt on deal it doesnt sell. why! because most of the super markets now have their own private label premium lines. and they run them on deal all the time. so far summer business is bad. wal-mart sold only 50 rolls out of over 300 and it was sunny both sat. and sunday. mom and pops are history. yet they are a major concern for returns. way too many 7-.11 type stores. 10 in 8 out.

Boss Man:When the supervisors were pulled out of the union they all got a pay raise. They were given $70,000.00 per year and not many if any sups were making that. As far as the people above the supervisor they all got and are getting bonuses. So all this crap about the poor management does not wash with me. First thing this co should do is get back its space and customers. What good is a $1000.00 handheld and printed if you don’t sell the product. That is the problem with this Co everything is ass backwards.

Gary - In case you didnt know, you dont go from losing millions per quarter to making money in your first quarter exiting BK. you may not be able to fathom this, but be patient. A lot of money is going into fixing things and upgrading things. You are about to get new hand held software. Printers are next. Then new hand helds. But all of this costs money. And yes your bosses did take a pay cut. It was almost 6 years ago they took a 5% pay cut. And they havent seen any of that back yet either. 6 years is a lot longer than the 6 months you have went. So cut the guys some slack. You cant fix 8 years of fucked up in 6 months.
